It should be obvious by now what the plan is for Julian Assange—psychological torture resulting in either a total breakdown or an untimely death, the latter supported by the psychopaths who claim they are our leaders. This psychological torture was noted, with standard corporate media disinterest, by Nils Melzer, an internationally recognized expert on torture treatment.
“Unless the UK urgently changes course and alleviates his inhumane situation, Mr. Assange’s continued exposure to arbitrariness and abuse may soon end up costing his life,” Melzer, UN special rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, said in a statement last week.
Melzer demanded “that London immediately take measures to protect Assange’s health and dignity… However, what we have seen from the UK Government is outright contempt for Mr. Assange’s rights and integrity… Despite the medical urgency of my appeal, and the seriousness of the alleged violations, the UK has not undertaken any measures of investigation, prevention and redress required under international law.”
In America, the UK, and much of Europe, the financial elite and its political class consider truth-telling a cardinal sin, a crime punishable by death—not by lethal injection, but slowly and sadistically under a torture system tweaked by the CIA and put into action in rendition dungeons scattered around the world.
An article at Strategic Culture Foundation summarizes:
Assange has provided vital information to the international public which demonstrates systematic corruption by Washington and its allies. For telling the truth, he is now being persecuted, just as his whistleblowing colleagues, Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden are. Manning has been repeatedly imprisoned in the US, while Snowden has had to seek asylum in Russia for fear of being summarily incarcerated as a “traitor” if he returns to the US.
In fact, all of us, those who look beyond the headlines and ferret out the truth, are half a dozen steps away from suffering Julian Assange’s fate.
The national security state and its political class plan to kill Assange, keep Chelsea Manning in prison and find a way to return Snowden to the US for a show trial and life behind bars (or execution).
It must, however, first salt the earth where truth is harvested. Thousands of blogs, similar to this one, and websites contradicting and disassembling approved narratives, will be targeted for extinction. More

Back in May, retired USAF lieutenant colonel Karen Kwiatkowski said the CIA’s “Chemical Gina has her hands in this one, and we are being told that Assange is being ‘treated’ with 3-quinuclidinyl benzilate, known as BZ.”
On September 14, Kwiatkowski wrote Julian Assange “is being held on behalf of the United States and he is being chemically and physically interrogated in Belmarsh (the British Gitmo) in order to reveal his private cryptographic keys, and the names and cryptographic information relating to others within the Wikileaks information network.”
He has been reduced to the mental capacity of a drug-addled rubberhead, and some of these effects will be found to be permanent. Physically he is reported to be underweight (under 100 pounds) with food and water being used as bargaining chips in his continued interrogation. Ironically, even the prisoners at Gitmo, as part of the tender care by the USG, were force-fed when they tried to starve themselves to death. Julian’s government caretakers are using food and water to break him completely.
The CIA and its media call this practice “enhanced interrogation,” an Orwellian term for torture. In the mid-1970s, the Church Committee and the Rockefeller Commission determined the CIA’s MKUltra was developed for the explicit purpose of breaking down individuals, destroying them psychologically and physically, and reformatting their minds. In the 1950s, the agency was searching for a way to brainwash subjects and turn them into amnesiac assassins.

Have you ever got a song stuck in your head that you just can’t seem to shake? That catchy piece of music on a recurrent loop in your brain, also known as an earworm, may seem torturous but pales in comparison to actual sound torture employed for military purposes. Sound torture is a type of psychological warfare used to break the will of prisoners using loud music or white noise. While many of us use music to escape or even center ourselves, it can also be used as an instrument of torture under the right conditions.
Sound Torture During The Iraqi War
After details emerged regarding the U.S. military’s use of torture during the Iraqi War, common methods of physical torture, including “waterboarding,” hooding, and physical abuse, came under immense national and global scrutiny. The use of torture remains a widely debated issue when it comes to the treatment of military detainees. Music torture is currently banned by the United National Convention Against Torture, but it is still permitted under U.S. law. The United National Convention Against Torture defines torture as:
any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him, or a third person, information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity.
Errol Morris’s 2008 documentary “Standard Operating Procedure” focused on abuse and torture of prisoners at the Abu Gharib prison in 2003 by U.S. soldiers. A clip from the film features a U.S. soldier explaining the use of deafening music to have a psychological impact on prisoners of war.

“To give you an idea of how far the CIA, the US military, and its allied academics will go in MKULTRA “research,” here is what I wrote in 1995 about several human experiments. My information was based on the three key books I mentioned above, as well as Martin Lee’s classic, Acid Dreams:
“Dr. Robert Heath of Tulane University, as early as 1955, working for the Army, gave patients LSD while he had electrodes implanted deep inside their brains.”
“In the mid-1950’s, Paul Hoch, M.D., a man who would become Commissioner of Mental Hygiene for the State of New York, then a laborer in the field for the CIA, gave a ‘pseudoneurotic schizophrenic’ patient mescaline. The patient had a heaven-and-hell journey on the compound. But Hoch followed this up with a transorbital leucotomy [aka lobotomy]… Hoch also gave a patient LSD, and a local anesthetic, and then proceeded to remove pieces of his cerebral cortex, asking at various moments whether the patient’s perceptions were changing.”

How Can Professed Christians Defend Wartime Atrocities?
50 years ago today, on March 16,1968, a company of green, battle-untested US Army combat soldiers from the Americal Division, swept into the undefended Vietnamese hamlet of My Lai, rounded up the 500+ unarmed women, children, babies and old men, and efficiently executed almost all of them in cold blood, Nazi-style. No weapons or Viet Cong soldiers were found in the village. The entire killing operation took only 4 hours.
Although there was a prolonged attempt to cover-up the operation (which involved a young up-and-coming US Army Major named Colin Powell), those who participated in the massacre did not deny the details of the slaughter when the case came to trial two years later. Despite the cover-up, the story did eventually filter back to the Western news media, thanks to a some courageous military eye-witnesses whose consciences were still intact. An Army court-marital trial eventually convened against a handful of the soldiers, including Lt. William Calley and Company C commanding officer, Ernest Medina.
According to many of the soldiers, Medina had ordered the killing of “every living thing in My Lai”, which was interpreted, of course, to mean all the civilians as well as their farm animals. Calley was charged with the murder of 109 civilians. And convicted of murdering 20. In his defense statement he stated that he had been taught to hate all Vietnamese, even children, who, he had been told, “were very good at planting mines”.
The end-result of the My Lai raid, which was part of a larger mission called Task Force Barker, had been recorded by military photographers, and eventually the Army had to abandon its cover-up. The military tribunals were conducted in censored military courts with juries of Army officers who had no legal credentials to try war crimes, which is still standard operating procedure in the US Army.
All the charges against the soldiers involved were dropped, except for Calley’s murder charges. Medina and all the other shooters of the 500 dead Vietnamese went free. Out of the initial 109 murder charges, Calley was convicted of the murders of “at least 20 civilians”, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment for his crime. However, under pressure from thousands of very vocal, very patriotic, and very pro-war Americans, President Nixon pardoned him within weeks of the verdict. More

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey’s Office website explicitly holds out to the public that its mission includes “combatting fraud and corruption,” as well as “investigating and prosecuting crime.” AG Healey further claims that her office combats elder abuse.
Now those claims made by AG Healey all sound reassuring and make you feel protected as a citizen of this commonwealth, don’t they? Beware: this is no different than any other electoral doubletalk. In fact, it’s worse—so let this article serve as an all-points-bulletin that AG Healey’s above-described mission statement does not apply to criminal perpetrators cloaked as probate court public officials and to their agents/representatives.
In a nutshell, after many prolonged under-the-pea shell games played by AG Healey’s staff, in my official role as an attorney, urgently reported substantiated criminal acts of hastened elder death openly and vehemently facilitated by Jewish Family & Children’s Service. As a matter of existing law, hastening of a death is in fact a criminal killing.1
One of the two unlawful deaths that I reported directly to AG Healey pertains to Beverley Finnegan—which death has been previously reported extensively by Boston Broadside and posted online, providing specific details surrounding Beverley Finnegan’s death and the role played by Jewish Family & Children’s Service. The other unlawful death involving Jewish Family & Children’s Service that I reported to AG Healey is that of elder Alice Julian.

A Summary of What is Likely to Have Been a False Flag Operation in Syria
The narrative accompanying the video footage that swayed Trump showed the now discredited-as-propaganda “White Hat” brigade members trying to hose down the dying poison gas victims in a region where there is no American presence. The unknown makers of the video claimed that the chemical agent responsible was military-grade Sarin gas.
Within hours after the Al Queda video went viral, a pair of U.S. Navy destroyers – that had been pre-positioned in the eastern Mediterranean – launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles (at a cost of some $1.5 million each, which equals $85,000,000 of scarce taxpayer dollars in one pop, to the delight of some weapons manufacturer or other), targeting aircraft, hardened shelters, fuel storage, munitions supply, air defense and communications facilities at the Syrian air base. Only 20% of the air base was disabled and jets were flying out of the base within a few days.
The cooler heads of most of the members of the UN Security Council refused to blame Assad until further study of the facts were examined by an independent group.

It’s Thanksgiving! The sun is shining brightly. The clouds are softly floating across the sky. Birds are singing and children are playing. Laughter touches the day as families gather for a special celebration. A day they give thanks for all the blessings in their lives, especially for being blessed with family and friends 
they love ever so much. Oh such a wondrous day it is, unless you happen to be Gary and Sara Harvey of New York state. In that case… well… it’s a day that gives Satan delight and the Harveys’ one more moment together lost; for no other reason than because it could be done unto them.
I’m so very impressed! NOT!
Sara Harvey made arrangements for her holiday visit with Gary, as she always does. She showed up as did the guard. However, the hospital claimed they had not been notified by the guardian and refused the visit.
(Guard does not get scheduled, unless visit is authorized.)
Of course, no one in authority could be reached. You know all those people, who were celebrating their Thanksgiving Day in whatever manner was important to them — they weren’t available. They couldn’t be reached. But… oh well… no big deal that someone dropped the ball and didn’t get the word to whomever they were to get the word to. It was, after all, only Gary and Sara Harvey anyways.
Since the guards are not scheduled without authorization, one would think someone with some authority at the hospital, might have gotten out of their “duh mode” and put two and two together. Guard is here. Guard is not scheduled without authorization. There is a history of Sara being allowed holiday visits with Gary. If still in doubt — call that on-call person that can actually make important decisions; can figure out that Sara does visit on holidays, so there must have been a mere failure to communicate the permission; and, then have the guts to give the go ahead.
St. Joseph hospital is supposed to be a hospital established by Catholic nuns. Nuns who were dedicated and full of compassion. So, tell me… where is that compassion now? More

We are being preconditioned for another war of aggression, this time against Iran. We are being systematically deceived into thinking that Iran is now out to get us. Maybe they are…now. Let me see, we have cut off major food supplies, put a wrench in their banking system and messed up their economy, and have positioned several of our warships in the Straights of Hormuz showing them that we are a clear and present danger to their continued existence. They might just be upset with us. Ya think?
Announcements on cable news shows and subsequent statements by US 
officials claim that Israel is contemplating attacking Iran this spring some time. These statements are issued with a casualness of announcing a garden party. For some reason it is unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons, but quite alright for Israel to have more than 200 bunker buster mini nukes at their disposal provided to them by our government.
Three days after the initial announcement of this preplanned war of aggression in MSM venues, newspaper headlines across the country claimed “Iran planning attacks inside the US”. Personally, I believe that this is just advanced warning that future false flag attacks, perpetrated by the CIA on behalf of global interests will occur in the US. Of course, Iran will be blamed immediately, we’ll blow them off the map and ten years from now we’ll find out the whole thing was rigged and based on fictional events that never happened; at least not by the people we thought caused them. Don’t worry though. There will never be an honest investigation, no charges will ever be filed against those who really did attack us, and evidence will be destroyed faster than you can strike a match.
But we sold Israel those nukes and once the weapons were delivered, the stage was set.

While the Israeli government and military may now be in possession of nuclear weapons, it is the people of Israel who will pay the price if any of those weapons are used. The Israeli people have found themselves in the same position as Americans in the US; pawns, cannon fodder and totally expendable as far as their government is concerned. Like us, the Israeli people have no say, no control over their government or what it does.
I believe the only thing that will stop this is the unspoken threat that if Israel launches attacks on Iran, many other mid-eastern countries will join forces and move against Israel. And who will pay for that? The puppet masters behind the scenes that set all of this into motion? Or will it be the people of Israel and the populations of other mid-eastern countries that will be sacrificed to the global war machine that systematically raids and plunders one country after another, selling off the assets of those countries to global corporations which have a vested interest in the outcome.

The first question I want to ask the president and all the members of congress is: Why did you hate the way America was?
The saying goes ‘love it or leave it’. 
Why are you still living here?
Why did you tell us you wanted to serve and represent your fellow citizens, then turn your back on us and our country? We did not plan or carry out the attacks on America on Sept. 11th 2001, but you have treated us like we did. You’ve sent our valiant soldiers to the other side of the world to avenge 9/11 and stop another attack, but have stood silently by while there was an invasion of the U.S. at our southern border.
Why have you failed to protect us from that?
Why have you let the ‘terrorists win’ by destroying everything that was wonderful about America? You’ve taken away our reason to fly our flag proudly and shamed our name around the world with your legalized brutality and torture. More

In the rush to pass protective legislation into law following the attacks of 911, the authors of the U.S. Patriot Act amended the previous legislation regarding biological weapons. Section 817 of the U.S. Patriot Act, otherwise known as the “Expansion of the Biological Weapons Statute,” has violated the Biological Weapons Convention, an international treaty which the U.S. signed in 1974.

I could only be called semi-handsome … in a dim light … at 20 feet … while taking a shower, many years ago.
Good looks may not be everything, but they can give one a head start in life. But, paraphrasing Mark Twain, “God must love plain looking (ugly) people as he made so many of us.” And, I’d rather be loved by God than look like a young Sean Connery, or how Cary Grant looked at any age.
Still, next life time, I’d like to have a six foot, four inch tall body, with muscular, well-shaped limbs, a fabulous throwing arm, jet-black hair (that later turns to a steel gray), piercing blue eyes, weighing in at a slim 235 pounds, all top off with a kill-her smile. I’m talkin’ tall, dark, and devastating. No more Willie Nelson looks for me, unless I can sing and write music like he can.
If God will give me such looks, I promise to try to win his love, in spite of my gorgeousness. Which reminds me of another good-looking chap, who needs to work over-time to win God’s love: Barack Hussein Obama, once known as Barry Soetero.

But oddly enough, hard working Professor Obama refused tenure, as he must have known he was on a much faster greased track to something much bigger … if … he could only improve his poor teleprompter reading skills of what others wrote for him.
And, Mr. Soetero … er… Mr. Obama applied himself to his trade, which was not statesmanship, but neuro-linquistics. And in time, Obama’s teleprompter reading coaches perfected with their student a slow rhythmic flow of spoken words, broken up with many “uhs,” with the same measured cadence as the words appeared on his teleprompter screens.
Then strangely, in an unprecedented move, the Democratic Party kingmakers gave lowly state Senator Obama a national stage, when allowing him to display his reading cadence at their presidential nominating convention of 2004.
And even more amazingly, the following year, Barack became a United States senator. Then unbelievably, three years later, Mr. Obama became president and commander-in-chief of the most militarily equipped nation on Earth, without ever serving a day in any military. And, unless one is extremely naive, they know that some powerful interests, made Mr. Obama into Mr. President, and then into the President of Broken Promises. More

Since June 2001, more than 351 individuals in the United States have died after being shocked by police Tasers. Most of those individuals were not carrying a weapon. Amnesty International is concerned that Tasers are being used as tools of routine force — rather than as an alternative to firearms.
Before I hear another word about how “criminals” should know better – let us look at a two cases which thankfully did not end in death.
Even Blind Old Ladies Terrify The Cops (2004)
Eunice Crowder, you see, didn’t follow orders. Eunice was uncooperative. Worried a city employee was hauling away a family heirloom, a 90-year-old red toy wagon, she had the nerve to feel her way toward the trailer in which her yard debris was being tossed.
Enter the police. Eunice, who is hard of hearing, ignored the calls of Officers Robert Miller and Eric Zajac to leave the trailer. When she tried, unsuccessfully, to bite the hands that were laid on her, she was knocked to the ground.
When she kicked out at the cops, she was pepper-sprayed in the face with such force that her prosthetic marble eye was dislodged. As she lay on her stomach, she was Tased four times with Zajac’s electric stun gun.
And when Nellie Scott, Eunice’s 94-year-old mother, tried to rinse out her daughter’s eye with water from a two-quart Tupperware bowl, what does Miller do? According to Ernie Warren Jr., Eunice’s lawyer, the cop pushed Nellie up against a fence and accused her of planning to use the water as a weapon.
Lesson learned? Let the Government take away your possessions – or be punished.

I could only be called semi-handsome … in a dim light … at 20 feet … many years ago.
Good looks may not be everything, but they can give one a head start in life. But, paraphrasing Mark Twain, “God must love plain looking (ugly) people as he made so many of us.” And, I’d rather be loved by God than look like Rock Hudson used to look, or how Tom Cruise looks, today.
Still, next life time, I’d like to have a six foot, four inch tall body, with muscular, well-shaped limbs, a fabulous throwing arm, jet-black hair (that later turns to a steel gray), piercing blue eyes, weighing in at a slim 235 pounds, all top off with a kill-her smile. I’m talkin’ tall, dark, and devastating. No more Willie Nelson looks for me, unless I can sing and write music like he can.
If God will give me such looks, I promise to try to win his love, in spite of my gorgeousness. Which reminds me of another good-looking chap, who needs to work over-time to win God’s love: Barack Hussein Obama, once known as Barry Soetero.

They acted under orders from Bush and Cheney. Today, however, an Italian court convicted 23 American involved in the CIA’s kidnap and rendition/torture program.
Around the world, and right here in the United States, outraged people are demanding that the architects of the criminal enterprise – Bush and Cheney – be brought to justice.
Twenty-two of the convicted Americans were immediately sentenced to five years in jail.
The other convicted American, Milan CIA station chief Robert Seldon Lady, was given the harshest sentence: eight years in prison. “I am not guilty. I am only responsible for following an order I received from my superiors,” Lady was quoted as saying by the newspaper Il Giornale.
As the Associated Press writes, “The trial is the first by any government to scrutinize the CIA’s extraordinary rendition program, which human rights advocates charge was the CIA’s way to outsource the torture of prisoners to countries where it is practiced.” The defendants were tried in abstentia and are considered fugitives. There are protests right across Canada on Saturday, January 23rd, many start at 1:00 pm. The Saskatoon one is in front of City Hall.
There are 192,000 Canadians signed up on the facebook group, “Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament” (noon, Friday Jan 25th, Saskatchewan time). The numbers continue to climb. Before I started writing this there was 191,900. I just checked and it’s 192,066 (12:06 pm). Think of all the people who are not on facebook!

Why Shoe Bush?
Our president stood in a nation he had illegally invaded and occupied, where his actions had caused over 1.2 million deaths, 5 million people forced out of their homes, millions more deprived of electricity or clean water and afraid to walk the streets. He stood smiling in a nation he had transformed into a living hell, a place where everyone had seen loved ones and neighbors killed. And when Muntadar Al-Zeidi threw two shoes at him, our president remarked “I don’t know what his beef is.”
But billions of people around the world believed that the pretended obliviousness of George W. Bush to the pain and suffering he was inflicting had gone on as long as they could stand if not much longer, and Al-Zeidi became a hero overnight. His two shoes punctured the Bush veil of separation, the distance Bush pretends to imagine exists between his decisions and the human limbs scattered in the sand of his colony. And while the U.S. media pretended to wonder whether the water torture was “really” torture, the United States and its puppet government in Iraq inflicted on Al-Zeidi one of the more commonly employed torture techniques of the Bush regime: they beat him and broke his bones.
In an ideal world, it would be enough to present the evidence of crimes for Bush, Cheney, and their criminal subordinates to be prosecuted and convicted. In this world, we’ve presented that evidence ( http://afterdowningstreet.org/keydocuments ) for years, and we are still in a climate in which Bush and Cheney blissfully admit their crimes, apparently believing that they render prosecution less likely by declaring their own crimes acceptable. While lies may take hold more easily the bigger they are, big lies also collapse quickly, as when a child points to a naked emperor, or a journalist throws his shoes.
We have a president-elect who can save himself from engaging in criminal wars and occupations, in torture and other war crimes, in warrantless spying and other violations of our Constitution, only by prosecuting the actions of his predecessor. Not to prosecute is itself a crime. If we are going to persuade the president elect, we must first persuade the U.S. media, and the U.S. media is not attracted by facts and information. The U.S. media is attracted by throwing shoes.
Bush’s last act is expected to be the unprecedented pardoning of crimes he authorized. This has never before been done, and to do so is to drop all claim to being a nation of laws. Thanks to the example set by Al-Zeidi, since emulated by people all over the world, we will know exactly how to make our response visible when those pardons come.

Will Bush Pardon Cheney on Christmas Eve?
On Christmas Eve 1992, defeated President George H.W. Bush pardoned Caspar Weinberger, Elliott Abrams, Duane Clarridge, Alan Fiers, Clair George, and Robert McFarlane for their Iran-Contra crimes. Not one served a single day in jail; Weinberger was about to go on trial and would have tied Bush himself to the scandal.
Will George W. Bush follow his father’s precedent and pardon Dick Cheney and his other criminal co-conspirators this Wednesday on Christmas Eve?
Last week, Cheney was all over TV setting the stage for pardons. He admitted he personally approved torture, but insisted it destroyed Al Qaeda and saved American lives.
According to a powerful article by David Rose in Vanity Fair, the Bush-Cheney torture regime accomplished exactly the opposite. The torture photos from Abu Ghraib helped Al Qaeda’s recruitment soar. U.S. officers in Iraq say torture-inspired attacks on U.S. soldiers were the #1 and #2 cause of soldiers’ deaths. CIA analysts say the “intelligence” produced by torture was worthless.
On November 20, Rep. Jerrold Nadler introduced H.Res. 1531 to urge Bush not to pardon his criminal co-conspirators. Nadler’s bill has 9 co-sponsors but we need every Representative (and Senator) to speak out against corrupt self-pardons.

Urge Eric Holder to Appoint a Special Prosecutor for Bush War Crimes
Last week three important Democrats – Rep. Jerrold Nadler, Sen. Carl Levin, and VP-elect Joe Biden – independently urged the Attorney General to investigate Dick Cheney’s torture confession. A growing chorus of newspapers (NY Times) and legal scholars (John Dean, Glenn Greenwald) agrees.
Prosecution of those responsible for torture is not optional – it is required by our obligations under the Geneva Conventions.
So we’ve joined forces with buhdydharma and the Docudharma community to petition Obama’s AG nominee, Eric Holder, to appoint a Special Prosecutor.
Holder replied after receiving a few hundred emails: “Enough folks. I hear you.” That’s a start, but we’ve asked for a formal statement. And we’re collecting additional signatures to deliver when Holder goes before the Senate for confirmation hearings in January.

It seems not a day goes by anymore that at some point I am not butting heads with another person…usually a man….who thinks he knows how things are, how things work…..but who in reality seems to know very little about much of anything. In almost every instance, the source of information for Mr. Know-it-all is someone like Limbaugh, Hannity or some other noxious right wing gasbag who makes their living spewing disinformation or outright garbage into the public arena. How anyone can tolerate listening to these blowhards without feeling vomit rise in their throats is a mystery.
My most recent encounter was with a ‘gentleman’ who insisted that “At least Bush had the balls to go after Iraq!”. ‘S’cuse me? My first thought was, “whose balls were they?”. Bush certainly has none of his own. That aside, I asked Mr. Know-it-all what he based this on? I pointed out that Iraq was nearly defenseless, had no WMD, had not threatened us and was not in a position to threaten anyone. I also pointed out that between us and Britain, we had the upper one third and lower one third of his country under a no-fly surveillance zone, and that Hussein only had control of the middle one-third of his country. I added that not only did we have the entire country under surveillance, we had stopped any humanitarian aid including food, clean water and medical supplies and had done so for at least ten years. Where was this threat?
Mr. Know-it-all then claimed that Hussein had been responsible for the attacks on 9/11 and that’s why Bush had to go after them. [At this point I was tempted to start banging my head against a wall.] How could anyone after all these years and after all the lies have been exposed about 9/11 still believe that Hussein was the culprit in 9/11? Or that Iraq was in any way involved in those attacks?
Before I could stop myself I asked the question: Where did you get that idea from? I knew what was coming. Mr. Know-it-all replied with the kind of self-righteous pride that can only come from self-induced ignorance and willing gullibility…….”Limbaugh was saying on his show……”. [Let the head banging commence.]
Here’s your problem Mr. K…….you’re getting your information from a junkie. One who is paid handsomely to assault the public with manipulated information to make sure you think and believe what those in the neo-conservative movement want you to think and believe.
As a last resort, Mr. K. screamed at me that Hussein was a bad man and had killed more than a hundred thousand of his own people and we had to stop him. I responded that we have now killed more than a million Iraqi’s, having bombed them, shot them, blown them up, starved them and tortured some others. I mentioned the depleted uranium gas that is being dispersed over the entire mid-east resulting in 70% of newborns being horribly deformed and the slow agonizing deaths of those exposed to this radio active waste product, and is also poisoning our troops. Mr. K., now in a full rage, was now trying to tell me and a few others how Hussein had come into power….according to Limbaugh. [You don’t even want to hear this part, it exceeds stupidity.]
In retaliation, I pointed out that Donald Rumsfeld had appeared on the front page of the New York Times shaking hands with Hussein after he was carefully selected by the up and coming neo-cons, to head up Iraq after we deposed their last leader. We knew all along what he was doing to his own people and didn’t care until he refused to co-operate with us. After all, he was instrumental in the Iran/Contra affair and waged war against Iran on our behalf with weapons we supplied him.
Realizing that I was arguing with an individual who was obviously mentally compromised, having been willfully exposed to auditory waste by-products that comprise the majority of Limbaugh and others broadcasts, I couldn’t resist one final question; What kind of ‘balls’ did it take to attack a country that was nearly defenseless, that had not attacked us or threatened to? And how ‘bout those oil production sharing agreements they are still trying to shove through the Iraqi parliament? You know…the oil we attacked Iraq to steal?”
At this point Mr. K. informed me that all Iraqi’s should be killed because they are Muslims, not Christians. I bet God loved that one.
So there it is in a nutshell. Bush had [balls] because he attacked a non-threatening country that was defenseless but it’s ok because they are Muslims not Christians….and the oil is a big perk too.
Somehow, considering the low level of intelligence of most of those who listen to these hacks who prey on the worst of human attributes, this doesn’t surprise me although the idea of Bush having [balls] somehow did.

The only thing I know for certain is that these are bad people……
The above statement, uttered by George W. Bush regarding the 80,000 Afghani’s, Iraqi’s and others, seized as prisoners and held by US forces in various locations, would have been more aptly applied to himself and his entire administration. Under the direction of the worst president ever in our history, people such as Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzales, Ashcroft, Rice and Hadley and too many others to name here, conducted some of the most horrendous situations and events in US history, all the while wrapping them selves in the flag and proclaiming their Christian morality.
Under Bush’s direction, torture and imprisonment even of children, numbering in the thousands has been conducted through the twisting and contorting of international laws and treaties and in direct violation of our own constitution culminating in the 2007 John Warner Military Commissions Act in which Bush pardons himself, his cabinet and operatives in advance for the crimes they have committed against humanity. Not one of those cases involving extraordinary rendition to countries such as Egypt for torture, not one of those held in Gitmo have been brought to trial.
In the three known instances where legal action was taken, Hamdan sued the government, Zarkawi was tortured into confessing to things he may or may not have known about, and Padilla was convicted with his defense unable to mount a valid defense on his behalf.
Of the 5,000 Arabs rounded up by John Ashcroft immediately following 9/11 for no other reason than they were Arabic, only one case ever made it to court…..and was thrown out for lack of evidence.
We have training centers in Arizona and Georgia which teach torture techniques. We have a government that has systematically resorted to activities known to be futile in the collection of verifiable information, and condemned globally as inhumane. And, for the most part, we stood by and cheered on those who have perpetrated these crimes against humanity. Why? What happened to us as a society, as supposedly the most advanced country in the world? Why were we so willing to accept becoming what we claimed to despise in others?
The only thing I know for certain is that these are bad people……and it looks like they are going to walk away from all the human misery they have caused with their lies and manipulations; their outright deception, and live happily ever after.
We can only hope that the International Court will charge them each and every one, with war crimes and crimes against humanity. God knows there is no one in our government willing to bring this bunch of chicken hawks to justice.
If you haven’t seen this video you need to take the time to view it. Put yourself in the place of these people. What has happened to them could just as easily happen to you. Just because Bush is leaving office doesn’t mean this nightmare is over.

America just survived the nightmare of living under the worst possible president anyone could imagine; George W. Bush. No one can say anything good about his accomplishments while in office and this includes Republicans who are loyal to him. This is because everything George Bush did was to the detriment of the people of this Nation and to the rest of the world. As a President, he was a total failure and he deliberately worked to destroy everything that was right about our Nation and its government. This includes:
· Turning the office of the President into a dictatorship
· Tightening the New World Orders grip upon our Nation
· Increasing government secrecy
· Opening the revolving door between corporations and government agencies
· Reducing the effectiveness of and politicizing all government agencies
· Increased the national debt bringing the Nation to the brink of bankruptcy
· Broke down the wall between the separation between church and state
· Wrongfully rewrote legislation through the use of signing statements
· Wrongfully rewrote legislation through the use of executive orders
· Worked to eliminate checks and balances in government
· Eliminated citizen rights including inalienable ones
· Introduced torture as a legitimate tool of government
· Broke treaties and ignored international law
· Lied to the American people about everything
· Established an illegal prison system outside our borders
· Wrongfully invaded a weak foreign nation on a lie
· Failed to prevent 9/11 and is remiss in fighting the war on terror
· Mishandled the Katrina disaster
· Etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum
No, George Bush did nothing good for America and nothing good for the world. While in office, his actions were undertaken solely for the benefit of our New World Order masters and the corporate executives who hold him firmly in their pockets. In the final analysis, the ultimate irony of this is that what he wrought is not even beneficial to these Fascists because the destruction of our environment and the collapse of our economic system benefits no one including the demented criminals of the New World Order. Indeed, America is ready for change but it goes far beyond just being ready because George Bush has driven a dagger into the very heart of what America is supposed to be and if his actions are not reversed, the American experiment in Republican Democracy is definitely over.
Enter Barack Obama into the picture! What a breath of fresh air this man brings to the Presidency. He is intelligent, articulate, handsome, and dedicated to his beautiful family. Beyond this, he honestly wants to be a President for all Americans including those who do not have six figure incomes. Furthermore, he is black and the vast majority of us living today never thought we would see the day when a black man would be elected as our President. Americans should be proud that we are mature enough to look past the color of a man’s skin and judge a person based upon the character and abilities he has to offer in the service of his country. Truly, Barack Obama has already changed America by the very act of being elected and to further succeed all he has to do reverse and not do what George Bush did. The real issue is how committed he really is to doing this?
Barack Obama is our President because he promised to bring about “change” and the areas he intends to concentrate his efforts on are the economy, Iraq, and health care. Anyone who owns a television knows this is the case and certainly a majority of us are in favor of changes in these areas. This is all well and good as far as it goes, but the reality of our situation is such that it doesn’t go very far and the truth of the matter is that we really know very little about what Barack Obama will actually do when he takes office. This is the problem with electing a populist President. He makes you feel good and proud to be an American and there is certainly something to be said for this, but substance and perceptions are two different things and it is substance that makes or breaks a presidency.
Like most Americans, I was overjoyed when Barack Obama was elected President, but I had reservations because he is a member of one of our two dominating political parties. To be sure, our electoral process boils down to the party seeking power trying to convince people that they will solve the problems created by the party still in power. But the real truth, which most Americans do not understand, is that we are where we are today because both political parties collaborated and cooperated to get us here. Eight years is not time enough to entirely change where our Nation is heading, so it stands to reason that our hijacked ship of state is on a course determined by its equally culpable co-captains; the Republicans and Democrats in keeping with the wishes and mandates of our New World Order masters. Therefore, while Barack Obama focused his entire campaign upon change, a prudent citizen is more than justified in wondering just how committed to change Barack Obama really is. While no one can make this determination with definitive certainty, enough information is available to make a reasonable determination as to what he will and will not do.

Today I watched with anticipation the Judiciary Committee hearings on whether or not there was sufficient evidence, or any evidence at all, that the Bush Administration was corrupt, had abused its power and had mislead the American people regarding the war with Iraq, illegal spying and wiretapping of American citizens and if it had corrupted the Department of Justice. Several other issues were touched upon but of course everyone was limited to five minutes to state their case which had the immediate and desired affect of limiting any attempts to actually expose the full scope of criminal activity by this corrupt and shameful administration.
Of particular interest to me were the statements by ranking committee member Rep. Lamar Smith of the 21st District of Texas.
According to Representative Smith, not only did he not believe that the Bush Administration and its cohorts in crime had committed any crimes worthy of investigation, he felt the hearings themselves were shameful and a waste of time. Apparently Mr. Smith has either been in a coma for the last seven years, or is blissfully ignorant not only of what has transpired during this time but the affect these years have had not only on our civil liberties but also what it has cost us as a nation in blood and tears.
Mr. Smith seemed not at all impressed with the facts that more than a million Iraqi’s have been slaughtered in this war for oil and greed, along with 4,127 American military men and women and that these deaths and this carnage was brought about by the lies of the worst president and administration we have ever had to endure as a nation. Mr. Smith indicated that the president had committed no impeachable offenses. That this supposed representative of a Texas district could make such statements with a straight face was a shock to the senses of anyone who had paid any attention at all to the illegal activities and actions of this administration since 2001.
Two panels were seated during this inquiry, and on the second was a gentleman named Jeremy Rabkin. Mr. Rabkin is a professor of law at George Mason University although how this man managed to obtain such employment must be a mystery. Professor Rabkin was brought in as a witness apparently to bolster the neo-con position that it’s only a crime if a non global elitist does it. What a pitiful example of the neo-con mindset this man is.
In what I can only describe as one of the most overly animated, gesticulating, face contorting diatribes I have ever witnessed, Professor Rabkin loudly proclaimed that the mood of the people in the room was “demented”. (I found it to be quite passive and docile until he himself began raging.) It would seem, according to the professor, that anyone in the room or out of the room who believed that impeachable offenses had been committed were deranged.
While this neo-con buffoon did everything but physically jump on the desk and twist his body into the shape of a pretzel he presented not one shred of legal expertise to support his contention that there was no offense. Far from coming off as a legal expert on Constitutional law, or any law at all for that matter, the professor seemed more to be auditioning for the Gong Show. Mr. Rabkin’s appearance must have been more for distraction than for substance. It was distracting and also quite uncomfortable to watch.
So, has the president committed any impeachable offenses? Let me count the ways! Illegal spying and wiretapping, data mining on US citizens, manipulating intelligence to attack Iraq, launching a pre-emptive war of aggression, kidnapping and disappearing of foreign nationals, secret prisons, torture, signing statements directing departments and agencies not to abide by the law, claiming powers not delegated to the executive, issuing executive orders contrary to constitutional law, declaring himself above the common law, illegal imprisonment, holding prisoners without charges, the intentional genocide of the Iraqi people for the benefit and gain of multinational oil cartels, corruption of the Department of Justice, attempting to launch yet another war of aggression by provoking Iran, entering into the Security & Prosperity Partnership intended to dissolve our sovereign nation, failing to secure our southern border from illegal invasion, and mounting an unmitigated War OF Terror against the American people. This is the short list.
So what do you think, Mr. Smith? Mr. Rabkin? Can you look at this short list of offenses and still claim that nothing here is indicative of impeachable offenses?
These two gentlemen were surely not the only ones on the committee or panels who feigned indignation at the mere thought that anyone might want to hold this administration accountable, but they are the two who stood out, especially Mr. Rabkin whose head I thought was surely going to explode at one point if it didn’t break away from his body totally and spin across the room.
This may come as a shock to these gentlemen, but the American public has come to its own conclusions about this administration and its activities, and it was no thanks to either of you or people like you. It is after viewing such things as this hearing today, that I find myself wondering how Mr. Smith and Mr. Rabkin have continued to hold any position at all as both seem to be either clueless or so dedicated to the dead elephant in the room, the herd passed by them unnoticed
And the elephant is dead for all intents and purposes. Yet, as today showed us, there are still those who believe that the neo-con tactics of distortion, manipulation, stonewalling, ranting and over-acting are still clung to by a few who refuse to admit the American people have tired of these antics, are no longer amused by them, and no longer sucked in by them.
Today also exposed one other thing; there is still a number of people willing to forfeit our country, our Constitution, our lives, rather than defend and protect the Constitution of the United States and our laws, as long as there is some benefit for them in doing so, whether hidden or overt. For these individuals, party affiliation, political pandering and inclusion in what can only be described as an anti-American movement is far more important than preserving our nation and protecting not only our government, but its people as well, from a cabal dedicated to seeing it destroyed.
Whether congress moves to impeach this criminal administration or not, the majority of people in the United States have. We didn’t have to call in cartoon professors, or put dummy politicians on a committee…..we figured it out for ourselves. And, if ordinary people can look at the actions of this administration, and admit that they were duped into a war on behalf of oil cartels; if they can find evidence on their own that a massive deception and fraud was perpetrated on the American people that has cost so many lives; if they can comprehend and realize that everything we hold dear is being stripped away from us……why can’t congress?
It seems a strange thing to me that ordinary citizens are willing to speak up and speak out about the travesties of this administration, that they can see the need to bring to accountability those who have so terribly abused their offices for reasons other than the over used “national security” excuse and yet our elected representatives are either unwilling or intentionally obstructing any efforts to act in defense of our country.
The neo-con, anti-American faction of the Republican Party has yet to realize that the dead elephant in the room, is them. The only thing missing in today’s circus sideshow put on by the neo-cons was the lack of some raging Evangelical, born-again, God is putting a word of knowledge in my heart right now, rock star preacher. This was most likely just an oversight. After all, the clowns were there.

Finally.
More than seven years too late, it appears as if a growing number of congresspersons are realizing that they are part of a co-equal branch of government. After allowing their institution to be disrespected and at times ignored by the executive branch, top officials in Congress are finally expressing a willingness to use their full power under the Constitution to rein in an out-of-control administration.
The current target: Karl Rove.
Rove has been asked by the House Judiciary Committee to testify about his involvement in the Justice Department’s prosecution and imprisonment of former Alabama Governor Don Siegleman. As Rove has so far refused to testify voluntarily, members of Congress have started sending signals that they are prepared to go to the mattresses over this.
Yesterday, Rep. Robert Wexler sent out a strongly worded E-mail – pasted in full below – advocating the use of “inherent contempt” against Rove, which would allow the House Sergeant-of-Arms to forcibly bring Rove to the House to testify.
Also yesterday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers alluded to the use of inherent contempt. “We’ll do what any self-respecting committee would do,” Conyers said. “We’d hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested.”

Last night, I appeared on MSNBC’s Verdict with Dan Abrams to discuss Karl Rove’s outrageous refusal to appear before Congress regarding serious allegations that he used the US Justice Department to take down a prominent Democratic politician. It is alleged that Mr. Rove personally instigated the prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegleman. The case has been criticized by legal experts, and 52 former state attorney generals – both Republicans and Democrats – have criticized the case and called for an investigation.
If Rove refuses to testify voluntarily and ignores the subpoenas that will certainly be issued, he should be held in Inherent Contempt of the House of Representatives.
No American is above the law. None of us should be able to ignore Congress without consequence. If Mr. Rove ignores a subpoena from the Judiciary Committee, then the House of Representatives should pass an Inherent Contempt citation and exercise our right to send the House Sergeant-of-Arms to gather Mr. Rove and bring him before Congress to testify.
I do not advocate this option lightly, but the reality is that Congress has few options left against an Administration that totally refuses to submit to any type of reasonable Congressional oversight. Congress has both the right and obligation to investigate these matters. Never before has an Executive so upset the checks and balances inherent in our Constitution. If we back off or delay, we effectively forfeit the power of Congress to investigate the Executive branch
Rove is not the first White House official to ignore Congress. We have seen a pattern of refusals based on laughable claims of executive privilege. First, White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten and former White House Counsel Harriet Miers ignored subpoenas on the investigation into the firing of US Attorney Generals for partisan political motives.
Their refusal to testify was unprecedented: never before have executive officials totally refused to even show up before Congress. Bolten and Miers are the highest officials ever held in contempt of Congress. Unfortunately, Attorney General Mukasey – in a dereliction of duty – has refused to enforce the contempt decree and now Congress is suing them in District Court to demand compliance. Then, the Vice President’s Chief of Staff, David Addington, refused to testify on the investigation into the Bush Administration’s ordering of torture. Now, Rove continues this executive arrogance by also refusing to testify.
Enough is enough. We have a Constitutional obligation to provide accountability to a White House that is trying to usurp the constitutional powers of Congress.
These are the very reasons why I have been pushing for impeachment hearings for Vice President Cheney. The Bush Administration has been running roughshod over the Constitution for eight long years. We should not allow the promise of a positive election be used as an excuse to ignore our duty to investigate crimes that weaken the very fabric of our Democracy.

For those who believe or think torturing another human being is not only acceptable, but will produce anything other than a tortured response, I have a suggestion. Please present yourself to the Ft. Huachuca, Arizona or The School of the America’s in Ft. Benning, Georgia: both are in need of live subjects to test their torture techniques o
I meet people most every day who say they don’t care if we torture people as long as it saves lives here at home. I have to ask how torturing another human being would give anyone any sense of security? How could intentionally doing the most despicable, abhorrent and inhumane things to another person possibly make you think you are now somehow safer? From whom?
Maybe the bigger question here is where is the government finding that many mentally deficient people willing to perform such acts? What kind of person sets about going to schools dedicated to teaching them how to inflict horrendous physical and mental pain on people who, in most cases, have never been charged with any crime? Who among us is so detached from humanity they could not only educate themselves in these sickening acts, but could stomach actually implementing them?
Bush recently claimed again the U.S. does not engage in torture. We all know it’s a lie! We not only teach torture techniques, but utilize them at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and in our recently admitted to, secret prisons (Bush also denied these existed).
But here are the questions that loom largest in my thoughts: Who are these schools practicing these techniques on during training? Where are they getting their test subjects from? Who are the people being used to train the students at these “schools”?
Don’t kid yourself for a minute. They aren’t using crash test dummies for this stuff.
I think it would be appropriate (especially for those in government who think torture is either necessary or acceptable) to send all those who promote this sadistic garbage, to either Georgia or Arizona as test subjects. Maybe if they have to endure first hand what they are endorsing, they might see things a little differently.
It’s a curious thing that those who condone this inhumane behavior are also the same people who are confident they will never have to endure it. Why would Bush or Cheney think water boarding is an acceptable method of extracting any kind of information unless they were relatively sure they themselves would never be strapped to a board? Or electrodes would never be attached to their genitals?
What about you? Are you that sure these things will never be done to you? If we are creating sadists for our own government to set loose on the world…..what makes you think you will be exempt? Aligning yourself with those who wield power saves you from nothing. Still feel safe?

It should be obvious by now what the plan is for Julian Assange—psychological torture resulting in either a total breakdown or an untimely death, the latter supported by the psychopaths who claim they are our leaders. This psychological torture was noted, with standard corporate media disinterest, by Nils Melzer, an internationally recognized expert on torture treatment.
“Unless the UK urgently changes course and alleviates his inhumane situation, Mr. Assange’s continued exposure to arbitrariness and abuse may soon end up costing his life,” Melzer, UN special rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, said in a statement last week.
In America, the UK, and much of Europe, the financial elite and its political class consider truth-telling a cardinal sin, a crime punishable by death—not by lethal injection, but slowly and sadistically under a torture system tweaked by the CIA and put into action in rendition dungeons scattered around the world.
