Since Standing Rock, 56 Bills Have Been Introduced in 30 States to Restrict Protests

“Meanwhile, the Dakota Access Pipeline itself has confirmed some of the Standing Rock Sioux’s fears: After becoming fully operation on June 1, the pipeline has already leaked at least five times.”

In the year since the last activists were evicted, the crackdown on journalists and activists has only intensified.

On February 23 of last year, a day when the frozen ground had started to turn to mud, law-enforcement officers rolled into the Oceti Sakowin camp near the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North Dakota. Donald Trump had been inaugurated a month earlier, and the new president quickly reversed an Obama administration decision to deny Energy Transfer Partners a permit to finish construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, a $3.78 billion project running directly under the Missouri River. The water protectors, as protesters called themselves, had been fighting the pipeline since the spring of 2016, concerned that the proposed route cut through ancestral land of spiritual significance, and that a pipeline leak could contaminate the primary water supply to the reservation. The small group who had remained through the bitter winter at Oceti Sakowin had been ordered to leave by February 22 or face eviction and arrest. Most did; a few dozen remained the following the day, when Humvees with snipers on their roofs rolled into camp, a helicopter buzzing above them.

Photojournalist Tracie Williams, on assignment for the National Press Photographers’ Association, captured some of what happened next. Officers wearing military fatigues walked through the camp with assault rifles and knives, which they used to slice open the skins of teepees. Rain and fat flakes of snow fell against a backdrop of smoke rising from structures that had been set alight in a ceremonial gesture. Moments after clicking through the last two frames on her memory card—of two men in prayer, weapons aimed at their heads—she was arrested. Williams, who had been documenting life at Oceti Sakowin for three weeks leading up to the raid, told officers she was a journalist—and says she’d previously identified herself as a member of the press to the governor and the Army Corps and let them know that she’d be there, documenting, and obtained a press credential from the Morton County Sheriff—but they confiscated her equipment as evidence and detained her anyway. Williams was later charged with physical obstruction of government function, a Class A misdemeanor that could result in a year in jail and $3,000 in fines. Her trial is scheduled for June.

Been to a Protest? Then you are an economic terrorist!

Urgent action needed: a proposed new law would allow authorities to charge nonviolent protesters with “economic terrorism.” Click here to sign the petition to stop this!

This is a disaster. A new law proposed by a State Senator in Washington would allow prosecutors to charge protesters with “economic terrorism,” and slap them with serious felony charges that could lead to jail time, just for making their voices heard. [1]

The outrageous proposed bill would make any form of protest that causes an “economic disruption” a class C felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison. It wouldn’t just apply to people who engage in illegal acts or vandalism, it could be used to prosecute any person or group who organizes a protest that authorities deem as “disruptive.” Broadly interpreted, this law could apply to time honored traditions of nonviolent dissent like boycotts and civil disobedience.

Click here to sign the petition demanding lawmakers drop this dangerous attack on our basic right to free speech and assembly.

Charging protesters with terrorism clearly violates the First Amendment and is an attempt to silence legitimate dissent. Please sign the petition telling lawmakers to reject this dangerous legislation.

We need everyone to speak out right now so we can shut down this terrible proposed legislation before it spreads to other states. This affects all of us. Will you sign the petition to stop it?

We need to remain vigilant. No matter who is in power, protecting our right to dissent is imperative for the future of our society.

Nationwide Protests Planned to Halt Mustang & Burro Roundups
BLM’s failure to instate even a partial moratorium inspires protests around US
Boston, MA (October 7, 2010)— Following over 35 protests in late 2009/2010, rallies will resume this month in at least seven states nationwide to draw attention to the plight of America’s wild horse and burro herds. Protests in 12 more states are in the works. Currently nearly 40,000 wild horses and burros are held in pens and pastures at taxpayer expense while the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) private contractors rush to roundup over 3,200 more wild horses and burros before the end of the year. Despite the delivery of a Unified Moratorium Letter last fall to President Obama, Interior Secretary Salazar and BLM Director Bob Abbey which called for an immediate freeze on all non-emergency roundups—the BLM has not changed course. On July 30th, 54 Congressional Representatives sent a letter to both Secretary Salazar and Director Abbey demanding a moratorium and review of the wild horse and burro program.  Regardless of public and political outrage the BLM has not made an honest effort to work with Congress or the public on solutions and improved management of all of America’s remaining wild horse and burro herds.  More

A news flash for the District of Criminals: It is 9/11 everday on our southern border

I have a news flash for you jackasses in the District of Criminals….WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!  It is 9/11 everyday on our southern border and for our citizens there.  What?  No NORTHCOM?  No Swat teams? No riot police?  No CIA? No FBI?  No drones?  No ADS systems or sonic weapons?  No tanks rolling through like they do in many of our major cities?  No satellite images to zero in on moving targets?  Where are you guys?  What?  Do you just save that stuff for those radical American citizens who protest the ever growing corporate government that has been steadily killing off our country for the last several decades?

We can send troops all over the world to defend other people (only if they have assets we want), to bring democracy to people who don’t want it (after all, look at the example we have set) and appear out of no where when an earthquake occurs on an island.  But we can’t defend America from an illegal invasion, or its citizens from an act of war coming from a neighboring country.  You don’t see any threat there?

Just so I understand everything correctly and to make sure I have it all right, here is the state of our country:

  • Illegal aliens can march in our streets after breaking our laws,
  • availing themselves of whatever might be available
  • demanding some kind of “rights” and:
  • no one herds them into predetermined areas,
  • arrests them for immigration violations,
  • limits their free speech,
  • Refers to them as drunkards,
  • bomb-throwers,
  • gun-toters,
  • extremists
  • radicals
  • or threats to our democracy and our nation.

Approximately 25% of all prisoners in federal prisons for violent felonies are illegal immigrants. (their figures, not mine)  Of course there’s money to be made there: Wall Street loves to sell them some “prisoner bonds”.  Big business; especially with China.

If I protest as a natural born US citizen:

  • I have to get a permit
  • Go to a specially designated area
  • Be surrounded by riot police and swat teams
  • Be declared a possible “domestic terrorist” by Homeland Security
  • Put on all kinds of blacklists with any of the 20 or so spy agencies
  • Added to the McCarthyism Institute’s (SPLC) list of people they hate and make money off of hating.
  • Called a radical,
  • militant,
  • hate group participant
  • Called an extremist for standing up for my country
  • the constitution,
  • my rights,
  • my objections to the lack of law enforcement or border security
  • my objections to unconstitutional policies and acts by the federal government

Somehow, I am now a threat to America because I even mentioned the constitution or that I do have natural rights and believe our laws should be enforced. Just ask the SPLC, they have whole lists of groups no one ever heard of and can’t find most times who are on these lists they supply to the government.

I now somehow have no compassion, or empathy.  I have lots of both, but I reserve it for my fellow Americans who are being systematically driven into poverty and overrun by a population that had no allegiance to its own country and certainly has none to ours.

And just so we fully understand each other: there is an all out war on our southern border.  The Bush administration refused, and now Obama refuses to send troops to defend our border or our American citizens who are being kidnapped, murdered and harassed by Mexican drug cartels. 5,000 dead last year and 2,000 so far this year: but Obama has no interest in sending the military to secure that border any more than Bush did.  It is cheap labor and a real economy buster to allow this illegal invasion to continue.  And it proves that there is no real basis in truth for the claimed threats to our nation promoted by the government and the bogus Homeland Security Department.

And about all that “national security” crap that is used to pass one assault after another against the Constitution taking away our rights and giving our own government the right to detain indefinitely, without charges, to torture if they choose to, to withhold evidence, to have no evidence, to refuse us legal access, to know what we might be charged or for no charges at all……we just might be a “suspicious” person…..and we are American citizens?……why the hell weren’t you out in the streets protesting that one you bunch of Benedict Arnolds’.

And many thanks to those of you who turned on your own and marched and rallied in the streets with the illegals’ and against your neighbors, family members, and friends who lost their jobs, their homes and most everything they had.  Why weren’t you marching in the streets then?

Where was all that compassion and empathy when this was happening?  Did you make sure any of them had food?  A warm place to sleep?  Did you storm the District of Criminals demanding special rights for them?  Hell no you didn’t!

These were American citizens, not these poor illegals’.  You sat on your sofa and said it was all their fault.  Never mind the banking and Wall Street corruption, the fraudulent mortgages, and the billions in bailouts to people who already had so much money they could never spend it all in ten lifetimes.

I have an idea!

Why don’t you gather up all your compassion and empathy and your illegal friends, and march on Mexico City? I’m sure the Southern Poverty Lie Center could finance the trip; their net worth this last year for selling hate for profit was about 175 mil.  They can surely afford to convoy all of you down there in fine style.

Oh yeah.  I forgot.  In Mexico, they’ll shoot your sorry behinds right there in the street.

An open letter to politicians & bureaucrats:

You say you can’t understand the anger and frustration of taxpaying citizen voters in this country, so you are reacting with “punching” back, or bewilderment, cowardice, or outrage.

You are so far removed from “ordinary” life you can’t understand why we ordinarily polite, mostly middleclass people are so angry.

For generations we have treated you with respect, even when you betray us time and time again.  You steal our money, our freedoms, our futures, our Bill of Rights, our hopes and dreams and still think we should respect you?

For all the “Honorable’s”, pleases, begging, cajoling,  and polite acceptance of your cat of nine tails…what did it get us?  Only more, and more arrogance, corruption, rudeness, chicanery, brutality, and utter disregard for our wishes and well being.  While we were being polite and respectful you were busy weaving your protection racket scheme to cover each others’ rears, feather your nests, and keep us in the dark. Illegal Immigrants/Domestic Terrorists

IF you bother to read the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007” (S. 1959) it becomes quite apparent that it is only American citizens who are the determined threat.  It is only legal and natural born citizens who are targeted in this unconstitutional, martial law enabling, piece of crap.  And how do I know this?

On May 1, 2008 all across our nation, illegal immigrants gathered with co-conspirators and rallied, protested, demanded changes in our laws, rights that are not theirs, and to be allowed to enter as they please with any or all of their extended families in tow.  Not only that, we are expected to give them jobs that Americans desperately need, housing assistance, food assistance, free healthcare, free education and what ever else they decide they want simply by virtue of the fact they broke our laws and entered the country illegally.  According to S.1959……it is a felony to rally, to try and effect changes in political, social or religious areas…….so why was this May Day protest tolerated?

It isn’t like no one knew about this protest rally.  It was advertised across the nation.  Everyone knew.  And here was an ideal situation for law enforcement and Immigration enforcement…….only none of them showed up.  No Senator or Representative appeared on the news and demanded that something be done…..not one spoke up and said “wait a minute……these people are here illegally and they don’t have rights…they broke our laws coming here and this shouldn’t be tolerated.”  Not one.

I liken this to bank robbers running an advertisement in all the cities where they intend to rob banks.  Something like this:

Attention:  We are bank robbers and we will be in (your city) on (date).  We intend to rob all of your banks at approximately 12p.m.  Please have all your money ready for easy pick up. Your cooperation is appreciated.  If we all work together these robberies will cause little disruption in your day. There is no need to notify law enforcement or federal authorities (even though this is a federal crime) they are ordered to appear to be “busy” elsewhere.

I know this sounds ridiculous, and it is.  But it is no different than illegal immigrants protesting in our cities, on our streets, demanding not only citizenship but rights and benefits of this society and doing it with advance notice of where they will be and when.  So where was ICE?  Where was the AG Murkasey who is charged under US Code with defending and securing our borders against an influx of illegal aliens or mass migration into the country?  Who knows where they were…….but we sure know where they weren’t.  They weren’t at any of these rallys.

But lets turn this around and look at it from another angle.  What happens if legal US citizens rally and protest government policies?  The police show up, people are herded into selected areas if not arrested.  We have to get permits, we have to set time limits, we have to abide by laws that were devised purely for the sake of stifling dissent and discouraging opposition to government policies.  WE are the domestic terrorists that the government needs to legislate into submission.

The Democrats in Congress along with a few Republicans just to make it look good, have once again shown us that their loyalties, their allegiance, is not to the people of the United States.  If they just had to pass another law why wasn’t it one making protest rallys by illegal immigrants a felony?  Why is there not one representative or senator proposing an “Anti-Violent Immigration and Protection of the US from Illegal Immigrant Terrorism Act”?  And isn’t this what these protest rallys amount to under the current laws?  Aren’t these massive protests actually acts of terrorism against the people of the United States?  Where the hell is Chertof and his Homeland Security band of thieves and thugs when you need them?  Oh! I forgot……they are busy now trying to pass a REAL ID version of the Social Security card.

Isn’t it strange?  The same government agencies that threaten us daily with another terrorist attack if we don’t surrender our rights and freedom, the same agencies and operatives who encourage us to spy on our neighbors, to report anything suspicious or anyone we think is acting suspiciously: the same government who has claimed to be so tough on homeland security and keeping us safe……..is the same government that went to lunch while illegal domestic terrorists rallied in our streets.

So who is it our government is really working for?
