EPA Suspends Enforcement of Environmental Laws Indefinitely Due to Coronavirus

Editor note:  Before you read this article, please ask yourself why it would be necessary or of any advantage to suspend any environmental laws?  Who will benefit from this? This is more corporate welfare.

From The Hill

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a sweeping suspension of its enforcement of environmental laws Thursday, telling companies they would not need to meet environmental standards during the coronavirus outbreak.

The temporary policy, for which the EPA has set no end date, would allow any number of industries to skirt environmental laws, with the agency saying it will not “seek penalties for noncompliance with routine monitoring and reporting obligations.”

Cynthia Giles, who headed the EPA’s Office of Enforcement during the Obama administration, called it a moratorium on enforcing the nation’s environmental laws and an abdication of the agency’s duty.

“This EPA statement is essentially a nationwide waiver of environmental rules for the indefinite future. It tells companies across the country that they will not face enforcement even if they emit unlawful air and water pollution in violation of environmental laws, so long as they claim that those failures are in some way ’caused’ by the virus pandemic. And it allows them an out on monitoring too, so we may never know how bad the violating pollution was,” she wrote in a statement to The Hill.

The EPA has been under pressure from a number of industries, including the oil industry, to suspend enforcement of a number of environmental regulations due to the pandemic.

“EPA is committed to protecting human health and the environment, but recognizes challenges resulting from efforts to protect workers and the public from COVID-19 may directly impact the ability of regulated facilities to meet all federal regulatory requirements,” EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said in a statement.

Billion $ Minnesota Nickel /Copper Mine Will Cause Big Pollution Headaches

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released its own staff’s year-old objections to major pollution consequences from a controversial mining project, in response to a lawsuit brought by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER). The case illustrates how EPA now avoids required oversight of state-issued pollution permits.

The Trump/Chilean/Antofagasta/Twin Metals/Northeast Minnesota/Copper Mining Connections

By Gary G. Kohls, MD – 11-13-2018

Pictured above are Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Andrónico Luksic Craig and the $5.5 billion Washington, DC town house that Kushner and Trump leased from Luksic, the CEO of Antofagasta Holdings and the richest man in Chile. Luksic purchased it the week after Donald Trump won the election and immediately leased it to Kushner.

Iván Arriagada Herrera, the CEO of Antofagasta Minerals S.A. (since 2015) and Antofagasta plc (since 2016) said that Donald Trump’s election has created a “more favourable climate for the development of the (Northern Minnesota Twin Metals) project.”

Arriagada recently said that Antofagasta’s Twin Metals unit was preparing an environmental impact assessment for an underground copper-nickel mine in Minnesota. (Twin Metals was a Canadian Penny Stock mining company until Antofagasta acquired 100% of the company’s shares a few years ago.)

But the project hinges on the resolution of a legal dispute with the US government, which under former President Barack Obama, refused to renew the company’s mineral leases in 2016 to protect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness area from possible pollution.

But the dispute would still need to be settled in court, he said, adding: “We’ll keep defending our right to develop the mine.” Trump’s election makes the deal much more likely to happen, given the strong pro-extractive business climate of the Trump administration.

When Guillermo Luksic died in 2013, his older brother Andrónico Luksic stepped into the role of CEO of the Luksic Group (that their Croatian/Bolivian father had founded) and several of its related companies, notably Quinenco S.A., the holding company for the family’s non-mining investments. Andronico decided to concentrate on consolidation of the group and on building strong positions for the new acquisitions.

Andronico is also CEO of Compañía Cervecerías Unidas S.A. and its subsidiary companies CCU Chile, CCU Argentina and ECUSA, vice chairman of Compania Sud Americana de Vapores S.A. (CAV), of Banco de Chile and a member of the board of directors of Madeco S.A. (renamed Invexans), and Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (SOFOFA). He is member of the International Advisory Council of Barrick Gold, the Brookings Institution, the Panama Canal Authority, the Chairman’s International Council of the Council of the Americas, International Advisory Council of the President, board member of the Chilean Pacific Foundation and is a member of the Latin American Council of Nature Conservancy.

Andrónico Luksic is also a member of the Boards of Antofagasta plc and Antofagasta Minerals.

The Luksic family is one of the richest families in the world. The founder’s second wife is worth $20 billion, At one time she was the 33rd richest person in the world.

Barrick Gold Corporation is the largest gold mining company in the world, with its headquarters in Toronto, Ontario.

DNR – State Receives Permit to Mine Application and Financial Assurance Proposals from PolyMet

PolyMet has submitted a permit to mine application for its proposed NorthMet project. This is the first nonferrous permit to mine application in the State’s history. This application includes PolyMet’s proposals for financial assurance and the wetland replacement plan. DNR will now start the application review process. This review process will include extensive evaluation of environmental and financial considerations. The application will likely be modified in response to DNR’s review.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The DNR review of the permit to mine application will take many months. The application will be reviewed by a team of DNR technical experts, additional state agencies, local governments, and DNR’s independent expert contractors. The review process looks closely at details of the proposed project to determine whether it is designed to meet state standards, provides appropriate financial assurance, and has incorporated the environmental protections outlined in the Environmental Impact Statement. After DNR completes review of the application and associated documents, DNR will consider which draft permit conditions, if any, should be developed.

PUBLIC COMMENT AND REVIEW PERIOD

If DNR determines that the application, with draft agency conditions, meets all applicable state laws, then DNR will place the draft documents on public notice for review and comment.  DNR will publish additional detail about the public comment process at a later date, including the date and location of any future public informational meetings.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND RESOURCES

After the public notice and comment period, DNR will determine whether to hold a pre-decisional contested case hearing. DNR’s decision on whether to hold a pre-decisional contested case hearing decision will be made before the DNR makes a final decision on the permit to mine application.

Permit to mine application requirements can be found in Minnesota Rule 6132.

PolyMet’s permit to mine application, including its financial assurance proposals and the wetland replacement plan will be available by 5:00 p.m. today at: www.mn.gov/polymet (click on the DNR link).

Property Rights At Stake in the Florida Senate

The latest threat to property rights, not to mention just bad government policy, is
SB 1576 entitled, “An act relating to springs.”

It is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Committee on Environmental Protection and Conservation Thursday, March 20, at 8 AM. You can see the bill by going to

www.flsenate.gov and inserting the bill number in the search engine.

Many, if not most, Floridians recognize the need to protect water quantity and quality. And, that certainly means protecting Florida’s springs and aquifer. Politicians know this and some want to join the stampede to pass “something” to “protect” springs. But, don’t be fooled…SB 1576 will not do that. Here’s why

SB 1576 needlessly targets septic systems as a significant contributor to nitrogen pollution. More

Environmentalism: Once a good cause, now just Agenda 21

______________________________________________

The idea behind the “Best Practices” barrage is to end the knowledge that has been passed from one generation to the next about how to manage lands, crops and animals and/or how to harvest, store and preserve food supplies.  This is a collective knowledge, the possession of which is invaluable if we are to survive. Our farmers and ranchers know far better how to manage their land, crops and animals than some desk jockey in the UN or in Washington D.C.

___________________________________________________

Environmentalists, the Green movement, and various other groups dedicated to protecting and preserving the earth and its inhabitants, was, initially begun as a result of the plunder and destruction resulting from the willingness of governments around the world to allow the decimation of the environment for corporate profits.  The environmentalist movement has been virtually taken over.  What it represents now in many areas is the facilitation of the decimation of our rural communities and is the UN Agenda 21 plan for seizing all lands, water and food production to be owned and operated by the corporate state.

While those involved in this movement believe they are working to protect the earth, the environment and its wildlife, the catalyst behind the movement has become Agenda 21 from the UN. This Agenda specifically sites land ownership as a source of wealth and one that should be held only by the state.  The rationale for this is that land ownership signifies wealth of some level, and this level can vary radically from one individual to the next and that is, for some reason, not fair……so the state should own everything and that way no one but the state has any wealth.  One of the cleverest and most successful coup’s ever implemented was the co-opting of true environmentalists into the “sustainability/Smart growth” Agenda 21 program.

While I do believe that we should take care of our environment, our wildlife and our waterways; handing these assets over to the government to sell off to corporations to plunder and abuse while simultaneously and falsely claiming they are protecting the environment, will produce nothing but devastation.  All across our country we can see the rapid deterioration of land under government control now exploited and plundered; the water systems polluted beyond reclamation from endless strip mining, gas and oil drilling and rendered unfit for any further use.  More

If you disagree with the CO2/global warming proponents, you will be verbally attacked and insulted

This is a difficult message to send out, because many of us have discovered that if you disagree with the CO2/global warming proponents, you will be verbally attacked and insulted. Regrettably, I participated in some of that nasty behavior myself. The good news for me is that I was able to attend a subsequent meeting of the group I had verbally attacked for their skeptical global warming position and apologize to them – which I did.

My message to the good Democrat environmentalists who care about the environment and loathe corruption
If you take the time to investigate the recently released email communications of the leading climatologists promoting man-made global warming, it becomes apparent that the CO2/global warming issue has corruption and fraud written all over it.

If you have don’t have time to review the following articles, their essence is superbly and eloquently expressed by Lord Monkton in this short 10 minute video:

Monsanto’s Global Pollution Legacy

Do we really want to eat food created by Monsanto and sprayed with Monsanto’s chemicals? Before we take another bite, a bit of research is in order.

This is the first sentence of the Monsanto Pledge, taken from http://www.monsanto.com:

“We want to make the world a better place for future generations.”

Really? This sounds so good. Environmentally responsible people looking out for the good of humanity. However, I believe that no matter what is said, we can judge the fruit of this company by its actions. Please read the following article from SourceWatch, and judge for yourself if Monsanto’s claim that “a healthy, sustainable environment is important to our business” is true, or just another Public Relations spin. Global Warming or Global Governance?

Something to think about:

Why would Al Gore, who is notoriously guilty of a huge amount of personal energy consumption, be touting a “global solution” to a “global problem” unless he was firmly in favor of and promoting the NWO?

Why would the mainstream media be advancing the notion of a “global warming” problem if this promotion was not dictated by its corporate masters?

Why aren’t huge corporations being targeted by this “global warming” campaign?

Why is it “we the people” who must pay the price of the “global warming” problem?

Could it be that our corporate government is allowing the atmosphere to be polluted by huge corporations in order to create a problem so that the public will go along with their “global solution?”

Could it be that this is just another tool to subjugate the masses and institute the NWO?

Something to think about…

Food Shortages: the Perfect Enabler

by: Marti Oakley (C) copyright 2010 All Rights Reserved

How could it happen?  Here in the US, in the greatest agricultural country ever to have existed…..and we are facing a food shortage.  Already here in Minnesota, large food chains are limiting the number of bags of rice, flour and sugar.  Stranger even still, as Minnesota is the #1 sugar beet grower in the nation.  We are an agricultural based state, producing not only sugar beets, but corn, wheat, oats, soybeans, dairy and so many other foods, a food shortage cannot seem possible.

Corn prices have risen 60% this year and I would not find that objectionable if the increase was due to food supplies.  Instead, we are burning food supplies (corn) to make biofuel in the belief this will decrease our consumption of foreign oil.  Somehow, driving on an empty stomach doesn’t appeal to me much.  At what point will we decide that access to food is far more important to us than cranking up these gas guzzling vehicles? And when will we understand that burning nearly a gallon of oil to produce a gallon of ethanol is not only inefficient, but produces 20% less usable energy is a carefully constructed recipe for disaster?

The sudden acceptance in the last few years (and that is “sudden” as slowly as our government moves when it doesn’t want something to happen) of fuel produced from corn should have made us all put on the brakes.  After decades of fighting any chances of developing alternative fuels and intentionally making alternative energy production an impossibility, the government is now on board and fully supporting the research and development of biofuel.  Now why would that be?

As always with those who operate behind the curtain, nothing happens until it is opportune to do so.  Apparently the time has come to bring the hammer down.  What we will face in the next few years will be so devastating to us as a society, nothing will ever be the same.  The created food crisis will only be the tip of the iceberg, but, it is this crisis that will be the catalyst for plans made in advance for us, and whether or not we survive.  Survival here should not be defined in limited terms.  It should be an inclusive term, meaning everything we know, life as we have known it and whether we continue to live will be subject to our ability and determination.  Those who comply with the coming changes will eat, those who don’t won’t.

Aside from the chemtrails appearing all over the world, but most especially here in the US….where a vast amount of food is produced ….. polymers, bacterium, heavy metals, barium and other pollutants and irritants are sprayed into our skies over vast areas.  A sure sign that chemtrails are at work are the stunted crops, the lack of bees for pollination, and large numbers of birds of all sizes just dropping from the skies like stones having died in flight.  Water testing after chemtrails are spotted shows a spike in barium among other things, and the resulting fish kills evidenced by dead fish washing ashore for miles is attributed to the sudden rise in some unknown bacteria appearing in the water.  Keep in mind that before any of these toxic concoctions reach the ground or water supplies…..we breathe them in.

Food is the greatest enabler of control.  Preventing its production either by agreements such as NAFTA and CAFTA among others, or by intentionally contaminating the food supply limits the amount of food available.  If the wars didn’t put us in the street fighting the government, if the encouraged mass migration of illegal immigrants into the country hasn’t caused civil unrest, if the gross and blatant corruption of our government and the administrations obvious contempt for the people of the United States did not bring us to our feet in protest, then surely, cutting off our food supply will.  Hungry people are angry people.

What our government wants to have happen more than any other thing is for us to rise up in civil disobedience and are prepared to utilize any mechanism, even food, to cause that to happen.

What the wars and corruption, the mass illegal immigration couldn’t bring about, a food shortage will.  In anticipation of this preconceived plan to enable martial law, to rid the elite of the nuisance of government controlled by the governed, and to solidify the North American Union and the Security & Prosperity Partnership as the forerunners to one world government, we will see our food supply dwindle to almost nothing recognizable.  THAT will make us take to the streets in protest.  That will allow the administration to declare a national emergency, implement martial law and we will see Canadian troops on our streets to control us.

The food shortage that has been carefully planned is strategic as well.  Already around the world less fortunate populations are unable to afford what little food is available and are beginning to fight back.  And this is only the beginning.  In the great created food crisis millions will suffer and die as “useless eaters” are purged from the earth.  Starvation will do what AIDS, SARS, the phony Bird Flu and other attempts at mass depopulation haven’t accomplished.  It will wipe out huge segments of the worlds populations and enable the conversion of the US, Canada and other advanced nations into states of despair.  And it will facilitate the planned overthrow of our government in favor of total fascism by a group of global elitists who believe we are all expendable.

They needed a catalyst.  They needed a reason to justify what they are about to do to us.  And all of what is coming will be presented to us as the only way out……and many of us will willingly comply with the program.

Chemtrails….

‘For all those activists who have been investigating and reporting on clandestine government operations around the world to manipulate our weather patterns, this news from Germany is groundbreaking.

The TV news report states that “the military planes of the German Federal Army are manipulating our climate; this is what the weather researchers are presuming and their suspicions are confirmed … “We can state with a 97% certainty that we have on our hands chemical trails (chemtrails) comprised by fine dust containing polymers and metals, used to disrupt radar signals.”‘

“This is their main purpose, but I was surprised that this artificial cloud was so wide-spread.  The radar images are stunning considering the needed tons of dispersed elements — although, the federal army claims that only small amounts of material were propagated. The military heads claim that the substances used are not harmful.”

“In the United States of America there is protest after protest for many years now, against these military operations and now people are mobilizing in Germany as well.

For example: JOHANNES REMMEL of the Greens. “It’s obvious that enormous regions are being polluted with clandestine actions, but all of this has to be made public. The government must provide explanations to the unsuspecting population.”

This is a very significant development in the battle to find out why our governments are spraying chemicals into our atmosphere, however it is only the tip of the iceberg. As far as researchers have been able to conclude, chemical spraying by our governments have been in full operation since mid-to-late 1990’s (possibly earlier).

The following video presentation is a great introduction to chem-trails and some of its possible implications: http://www.chycho.com/?q=Chemtrails    Read more and watch …
