GMOs Revealed…New Documentary

1 Comment

This is a REALLY important message. Tomorrow is a big day as we release episode 1 of our new, free-to-view docu-series: GMOs Revealed.

Because of your interest in Vaccines Revealed, I know you will want to see this too. The fact that we are being poisoned and being lied to about it

makes this absolutely vital, ‘need-to-know’ information.

Through the journey of creating GMOs Revealed, I was stunned by what I uncovered. I thought

I understood the GMO issue pretty well… I was wrong.

However, I also discovered many actions I could take for myself and my family to ‘undo’ the horrible health effects of GMOs and the toxic chemicals sprayed on them. So there is an empowering and positive side to the series. And I have to say, our experts were sensational.

The truth is starting to come out and you need to know about it.

You can register now for GMOs Revealed and see the entire 9-part docu-series for no cost at all.

There is no doubt that the GMO agenda has caused the biggest environmental catastrophe in history.

You need to know the facts and you also need to know what actions you can take to safeguard yourself and loved ones.

I made it my passionate mission to bring all of this to you with unbridled truth.

And can I ask you to please share this by forwarding this email to friends and family and other loved ones?

March Against Monsanto

A revolution is building and it’s imperative for the health of you and your loved ones to join it!

We are under attack on all fronts — food, water, medicine.

Monsanto’s cancer-causing herbicides are used to grow the food that lines much of our grocery store shelves.

It was recently disclosed that chromium-6, the extremely toxic chemical made famous by the movie Erin Brockovich, has been found in the water supply of all 50 states, affecting more than 200 million Americans.

The vaccine safety movement is waving a giant red flag over the numerous, harmful ingredients being injected into children — chemicals like aluminum, formaldehyde, and Monsanto’s glyphosate (Roundup), which has never once been tested for safety as an injectable.

Is it any wonder that brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in children?

Is it a surprise that cancer will affect every 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women?

We have been lied to when it comes to the “treatment” of cancer in traditional medicine. Fear is used to push Big Pharma’s lethal chemotherapy treatments, despite studies showing chemo actually makes cancer worse.

Get educated on a whole different universe of cancer treatments and prevention!

Treatments and healing methods being developed around the world by brilliant men and women willing to toss tradition to the side and champion health and well being and exploring EVERY option…

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) estimates that the waters in 27% of the southern half of Minnesota have reached critical levels in nitrogen contamination and that overall 41% of all lakes and streams have far higher than accepted and so-called “safe levels” of nitrogen contamination in addition to atrazine and glysophate contamination.

Industrialized corporate farming Chemical Footprints

Our family farms have virtually disappeared.  In their place are massive, squalid industrial farming and ranching operations.  The result of this industrialization is low quality food contaminated with vaccines, hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides and hundreds, if not thousands of chemicals we are not even allowed to know about.

The conversion, predominately over the last thirty years, from traditional farming to chemical barn_dees4farming is devastating the land and water, especially in agricultural states such as those in the mid-west.  The result is chemical contamination and toxicity of land and water, now reaching critical levels and accumulating in our rivers and streams.  Many of these same rivers and streams are emptying into the Mississippi, Cedar and Missouri Rivers and end up in the Gulf of Mexico contributing to the “dead zone”; an oxygen depleted area in the Gulf where nothing grows or lives.  This area is enlarging each year.  Much of our historically productive agricultural land and our water is on the verge of being reduced to a chemical laden soup unfit for use.

While the carping continues by vested interests regarding our so-called carbon footprints, and while the government continues its already debunked “global warming” scam, may be its time someone looked into the toxic chemical footprint being imprinted on our land and in our water by  industrialized corporate farming.  The promises of bigger more valuable crops, capable of feeding the world have been dismissed as the reality of agricultural monopolies protected by government, produce less than desirable crops, severely lacking in nutritional value. Minnesota House And Senate: Stop Mandatory Fluoridation

Minnesota statute, (144.145) requires the fluoridation of the municipal water supply.

Hydrofluosilicic Acid is an industrial by-product of the phosphate industry that is added to the water for the, “prevention of tooth decay.” This chemical is too toxic to be legally discharged into the environment. Fluoridation of the water supply violates the ethic of informed consent set forth in the Nuremberg Code and is bad medical practice. Fluoridation has never been proven, “safe and effective,” with substantial evidence. According to the FDA, fluoride is a “drug.”

By this definition, the practice of fluoridation has been used as a massive experiment in Minnesota for over 40 years.

MD’s are required to evaluate their patients prior to prescribing drugs and should also do follow up, yet fluoride is being forced on an entire population without regard for the dose received from water and other sources. Decision makers should not be able to do to the entire state what doctors cannot do to individuals.

To universalize the concept of medicating the water without informed consent makes it morally wrong. One size does not fit all. Medicating the water for the, “greater good” takes away autonomy especially for those who can’t afford filtered water.

Because something has been done for a long time does not make it safe or just.

The fuel additive lead was once thought to be safe. The precautionary principle and due diligence have been ignored for way too long. In 2011 the EPA and HHS lowered the recommended amount of fluoride due to high rates of fluorosis.

Fluoride toothpastes are required to carry poison warnings, yet parents are not warned about ingesting fluoride and it’s potential developmental hazards.

The EPA has classified fluoride as a, “Chemical with substantial evidence of developmental neurotoxicity.”

No rational person would call for a chemical to be added to the water that could cause brain damage. Fluoride is the active ingredient in many pesticides and is linked to increases in bone cancer, thyroid dysfunction, bone cancer, and lower IQ’s.

To:
Repeal Minnesota statute, (144.145)

Sincerely, [Your name]

Protect Mustangs.org

“The NAS findings clearly state that the BLM has failed to provide accurate estimates of the nation’s population of wild horses and burros,” states Jessica Johnston, environmental scientist and biologist. “Therefore, the NAS cannot conclude that a state of over-population exists and or provide a recommendation for artificial management considerations such as ‘rigorous fertility controls’ to control populations for which the complex population dynamics are currently unknown.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No proof of overpopulation, no need for native wild horse fertility control
WASHINGTON (June 7, 2013)–In light of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) report on wild horses and burros lacking data for an overpopulation claim, Protect Mustangs calls upon Secretary Jewell for an immediate halt to roundups and to return the 50,000 wild horses in government holding to the more than 30 million acres of herd management areas in the West to reduce costs quickly. The native wild horse conservation group calls on the Department of Interior to acknowledge wild horses are native, implement holistic land management and reserve design thus creating a win-win for wild horses to help thewh-nyt-roundup-kurt-golgart-blm_12-31-09 ecosystem and reverse desertification. Protect Mustangs requests that ‘survival of the fittest’ should be the only form of fertility control considered because indigenous wild horses must not become domesticated on the range. Artificial management such as pesticides and sterilizations should never be used on a native species such as Equus caballus.
According to a press release from NAS released Wednesday, “The U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) current practice of removing free-ranging horses from public lands promotes a high population growth rate, and maintaining them in long-term holding facilities is both economically unsustainable and incongruent with public expectations, says a new report by the National Research Council.”
“The Academy is referring to is the principle of compensatory reproduction by heavily-stressed wildlife populations needing to rebound from population declines,” states Carl Mrozek, filmmaker of Saving Ass in America. “Unfortunately, they quickly recommend a different intervention as a better solution without considering the ‘do nothing’ or ‘placebo’ option which is an integral component of every credible field trial for pharmaceutical and other ‘treatment’ plans. Had they searched for examples of herds which have undergone minimal or no culling in the past decade or so, they would have found multiple examples of herds which appear to have achieved homeostasis (equilibrium) or something approaching it, naturally, i.e. without BLM-sponsored roundups or fertility treatments.”
“The NAS findings clearly state that the BLM has failed to provide accurate estimates of the nation’s population of wild horses and burros,” states Jesica Johnston, environmental scientist and biologist. “Therefore, the NAS cannot conclude that a state of over-population exists and or provide a recommendation for artificial management considerations such as ‘rigorous fertility controls’ to control populations for which the complex population dynamics are currently unknown.”
“With the gluttony of roundups and removals, wild horses reproduce at a higher rate to prevent extinction,” explains Anne Novak, executive director of Protect Mustangs. “We need more studies to establish what the normal reproduction rate is and discover truths about alleged overpopulation on the more than 30 million acres of public wildlands designated for their use. Today there is no scientific proof of overpopulation to merit fertility control.”
Recently fertility control, in the form of immunocontraceptives for wild horses, was erroneously passed by the EPA as “restricted use pesticides”. The EPA inaccurately named indigenous wild horses “pests” in order to pass the drug. Pesticides (PZP, GonaCon®, etc.) should never be used on native species such as E. More
Noting “certain food-related ailments” this committee failed to ask the most obvious and relevant question:
If these ailments are a result of the food we are eating…..what is the underlying problem with the food?  And why would finding a remedy for this increase in possibly deadly ailments include further contamination and adulteration of the food supply with nano-chips?
_______________________________________________
I had come across an article in the Dairy Reporter last year, about the coming plans to insert nano-technology into food.  In the article from DR: Nanotechnology in food: What’s the big idea? By Caroline Scott-Thomas, 26-Jul-2010 this observation was made:
“At IFT’s nanoscience conference last week, major industry players discussed how to avoid a rerun of the GMO debacle with consumers – with some saying that one solution could be to say nothing about introducing nanotechnology in foods and to do it anyway.”
We all have enough experience with today’s bio-pirates who are openly colluding with the USDA, FDA and anyone else in government, like “Dirty Harry” Reid NV (D), who single-handedly and unanimously cast the one vote needed to pass the fake food safety bill, to know that food safety and longer shelf life is most likely not what this technology is actually intended to do.  As it is, most products on the shelves of stores now are so chemically laden and contain so much gmo that I doubt spoilage is an option. After all….can chemicals, pesticides and herbicides actually rot?    More
Victory Gardens Produce Abundance
Food is a market that will always exist.  Many people are turning away from industrial farmed food, seeking healthier choices and getting back to the basics.
Victory gardens in America produced up to 40% of all vegetables consumed during World War II. Over 20 million home gardens, apartment rooftop plants and community plots produced 9-10 million tons of produce; equal to the amount of commercial production at that time. The population during the war years increased from approximately 132 million people in 1940 to 140 million in 1945. Current US population is approaching 311 million people.
A family in Pasadena, California is making a living from selling produce grown in their yard to neighbors and restaurants. They grow 6,000 pounds of produce on 1/10th of an acre of cultivated land per year.
While organic food accounts for only 1%- 2% of all food sales worldwide, the organic market expands up to 20% per year. We believe that the organic market is small right now because of lack of education about health dangers of GE (genetically engineered) food and the lack of labeling of GE food. Most Americans don’t realize that about 75% of their diet is GE. As Americans awaken, the demand for pure non-GE foods is increasing. Organic farming is not only healthier but yields can increase, pollution decreases and water use can be decreased (click here for an example).
Some Americans barter or sell produce grown in their yards to neighbors, farmer’s markets, church communities, etc. You can earn extra money selling produce grown in your yard. Because there is a wealth of information on the Internet about how to grow produce in your yard, we will explore some other innovative ideas and suggestions for creating markets. There will always be a market for food.
“Wasn’t the reason we had to let the bio-pirates patent seeds, mutate nature, and contaminate the land and water and the resulting food supply was because they claimed they were the answer to global hunger?  They were going to end global hunger, weren’t they?  They wouldn’t have lied would they? This couldn’t have just been about food control and profits, could it? Surely not. “
Who knew pesticides were actually good for us?  Here we thought they were toxic concoctions that adversely affected humans, plants and animals, but it turns out we were all wrong.  Never mind, that these hazardous chemicals contaminate land and water and pose a significant risk to the environment overall.  And, never mind that we have no idea what the inert and hazardous ingredients are contained in them that could cause cancer, blindness, paralysis, seizures and other maladies, as it turns out it isn’t about health and safety. Its all about convenience, affordability ($$$).  Its about our lifestyles!
While we all erroneously believed that spraying carcinogens, heavy metals, microbial mutations, and god knows what else on anything and everything in sight might not be a good idea, it turns outs all this crap is really good for birds, animals, plants and the environment.  One could conclude that the residual chemicals left in the end products and consumed by human beings must also be beneficial.
Like many of you, I was opposed to the use of toxic chemicals being applied in ever increasing amounts to food crops.  But then I read this article:
From AGROW Awards: Benefits of pesticides
“The use of pesticides brings numerous benefits and makes a significant contribution to the lifestyles we have come to expect. These benefits are not confined to the users of pesticides, but reach the great majority of people across the world. The general public often take for granted or oppose the use of pesticides, but they make possible the year-round availability of high-quality, affordable food. Similarly, the environment and wild plants, birds and animals benefit from the carefully regulated application of chemical pesticides.”
Carefully regulated?  When did that happen?  Application is now determined by the level of resistance building up in the crops and pests these applications are used on.  There is no careful regulation.  In fact, no regulation at all; just increased application or strength of application.  And it is safe…..the FDA says so.  And you know you can trust the FDA!
I cannot even believe this statement “Similarly, the environment and wild plants, birds and animals benefit from the carefully regulated application of chemical pesticides.” was even made.  And as the article says, use of pesticides is not limited to users of pesticides.  Yuuummm! More
Blood on our Farms: Is Monsanto Responsible for 1 Suicide Every 30 Minutes?
Residues of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide found in GM food and feed has been linked to cell damage and even death, even at very low levels. Researchers have also found it causes membrane and DNA damage, and inhibits cell respiration.
MERCOLA:  India is in the midst of a flood of suicides among farmers. A new feature film written and directed by Anusha Rizwi and produced by Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan, called Peepli Live, takes a look at this grim topic.
The vast majority of people in India still farm for a living, but are caught between deep debt and the erratic nature of seasonal change.
Indian farmers are pressured into mortgaging their farms to purchase genetically modified seeds, pesticides, and fertilizer from American companies like Monsanto.
According to AlterNet:
“Since GM seeds are patented by Monsanto, their repeated use each year requires constant licensing fees that keep farmers impoverished. One bad yield due to drought or other reasons, plunges farmers so deep into debt that they resort to suicide. One study estimates that 150,000 farmers have killed themselves in the past ten years.” More
A report has found that farmers are planting too many so-called Roundup Ready crops.These plants are genetically engineered to resist the herbicide Roundup, which allows farmers to spray the chemical to kill weeds without harming their own crops.
But overuse of this approach to weed control is becoming a problem. Use of Roundup has increased to the point that weeds are also becoming resistant to the chemical. More
S.510 Fake food safety bill: Feeding America poison one law at a time
Our food system is not broken as some claim.  It is not dangerous, it is not rife with disease, it is not a threat to anyone and there is no terrorist in a cave somewhere “over there” plotting and planning on how to defecate in a field of spinach just to make a few American’s sick.  If bio-terrorism were an actual threat from foreign agents, they must all be employed by the US government which is currently operating or overseeing more than 600 bio-weapons labs across the US including on every university campus. “
_________________________________________
S.510, “FDA Food safety Modernization Act” is a misnomer.  This bill should be more aptly titled “Making America Sick Through Adulteration of Food” act.  Calendar No. 247, S.510 came out of committee and into the Senate on March 3, 2010.  While I am tempted to go through this latest attack on the public, line by line, suffice it to say that it is nothing more than another hyped up reaction to a created crisis that could have been easily taken care of had anyone actually been doing the jobs they are paid to do.
Here’s the problem with our food system in the US: the government refuses to keep its damn nose out of it.  For years we have had to endure the USDA and FDA regulations, codes, rules and other obstacles erected as barriers to commerce and to the agricultural production that has been the back bone of our economy.  A nation is only as successful as its farmers and ranchers; the ability of a nation to feed itself is the greatest deterrent to recessions and depressions.  And by farmers and ranchers I don’t mean industrialized corporate farming for massive profits while we defile everything in sight.
For every one dollar spent in agriculture, an estimated seven dollars is generated in the over all economy.  We need our farmers and ranchers; we don’t need bloated bureaucracies laden with desk jockeys who have nothing better to do than to create ever increasing and burdensome rules, regulations, statutes and codes that even they themselves cannot decipher and most times can’t even remember.  USDA currently has more than 16,000 rules, regulations and other nonsense on the books.  More
Breaking News: Monsanto Takes Center for Food Safety Legal Victory to Highest Court
On Fri, 1/15/10,
Center for Food Safety
info@truefoodnow.org
“A 2009 study showed that the use of genetically modified crops, the vast majority Monsanto’s “roundup ready” crops, has caused over the last 13 years a dramatic increase in herbicide use, by 383 million pounds, and concomitant harms to the environment and human health.
The U.S. Department of Justice has undertaken an investigation of Monsanto regarding violations of anti-trust and monopoly laws and is set to hold public hearings in spring 2010.
Another 2009 study showed that, despite decades of promises and hype, GE crops do not increase yields.”
_________________________________________________
(January 15, 2010) Today, the U.S. Supreme Court decided to hear a first-time case about the risks of genetically engineered crops.  Named Monsanto v. Geertson Seed Farms, No. 09-475, the case before the high court will be yet another step in an ongoing battle waged by the Center for Food Safety to protect consumers and the environment from potentially harmful effects of genetically engineered (GE) crops.
The modified alfalfa seed at the heart of the dispute has been engineered to be immune to Monsanto’s flagship herbicide Roundup. Monsanto intervened in a 2007 federal district court ruling that the Department of Agriculture’s approval of GE alfalfa was illegal.  The Center for Food Safety (CFS) filed a 2006 lawsuit on behalf of a coalition of non-profits and farmers who wished to retain the choice to plant non-GE alfalfa. CFS was victorious in this case – in addition CFS has won two appeals by Monsanto in the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit: in 2008 and again in 2009. Now, upon Monsanto’s insistence, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case.
“This is truly a ‘David versus Goliath’ struggle, between public interest non-profits and a corporation bent on nothing less than domination of our food system,” said Andrew Kimbrell, executive director of the Center for Food Safety. “That Monsanto has pushed this case all the way to the Supreme Court, even though USDA’s court-ordered analysis is now complete, and the U.S. government actively opposed further litigation in this matter, underscores the great lengths that Monsanto will go to further its mission of patent control of our food system and selling more pesticides.” More
  • Two labs conducting glyphosate safety studies for Monsanto were cited for “routine falsification of data” and other offenses. One lab study claimed it used “specimens from the uteri of male rabbits….”
  • An EPA scientist found Monsanto doctored studies and covered-up the dioxin contamination of a wide range of its products. She concluded that the company’s behavior constituted “a long pattern of fraud.”
  • In response to the publication of Rachel Carson’s groundbreaking indictment of the pesticide industry, Silent Spring, Monsanto and other chemical companies launched a major p.r. offensive. The industry sponsored public forums with purported “independent” experts speaking on the benefits of pesticides; the company’s propaganda tools included publication of a pamphlet called The Desolate Years, which posited a world of massive food shortages resulting from over regulation of pesticides (the company continues to repeat this lie to this day, in countless ads and public statements suggesting that food shortages will result unless the world unquestionably accepts its genetic food experiments).
HR 2749 and shades of Hitler
Cherry growers face ten years in prison and/or $7.5 million in penalties for citing scientific studies.
Why?
Because cherries beat the pants off non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for controlling pain and lowering inflammation.  There would go billions in selling aspirin, tylenol, aleve, and the other NSAIDs, that coincidentally kill well over 16,500 people a year.
The pharmaceutical companies (along with Monsanto and biotech and agribusiness) are behind HR 2749.
Cherries, incidentally, don’t kill anyone.
Ending free speech around nutrition occurred during the WWII as well, when Hitler made any passing of nutritional information punishable by death.  Interestingly, some of the very same German pharmaceutical companies that backed Hitler (and produced gas for the gas chambers and killed prisoners with vaccines) and may have benefited from his “punishable by death” ruling against nutritional information, are involved in these bills.  Those companies – Bayer, BASF and Hoescht (Aventis) designed Codex which is hidden inside HR 2749 (there is a lot hidden in that bill) – a massive plan to declare all nutrients toxins and remove them from access, as well as to mandate pesticides (even banned ones), irradiation of all food, GMO approval, and make passing nutritional information, even to friends and family, a crime.
Meanwhile, in protecting NSAIDs and keeping people from knowledge of cherries, the FDA protects the drug companies so they can keep making money, while routinely killing thousands a year. More
FOOD, Inc. Exposes Horrors of the U.S. Centralized Food System
What we eat has changed more in the last 50 years than in the last 10,000. So asserts Robert Kenner’s new film,FOOD, Inc., which opens nationwide June 19th.  The vast bulk of food production is now controlled by just a few mega-corporations with one value: profit. Relying on genetic engineering, pesticides and antibiotics, factory food is cheap, requiring little land. But the external costs to our health, the environment and the natural food industry are enormous.
Sowing Seeds of Starvation: Monsanto Hype in Growing Food Crisis
1 Comment
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/06/06/Sowing-Seeds-of-Starvation-Monsanto-Hype-in-Growing-Food-Crisis.aspx
An ad that recently ran during the American Public Media show Marketplace, sponsored by Monsanto, the world’s largest corporate agribusiness chemical firm, touted how Monsanto’s genetically modified (GM) seeds are going to save the world from environmental catastrophe and human hunger.
The Monsanto ads are, quite simply, false. The premise of the ad is that Monsanto’s GM seeds are going to save the world from environmental catastrophe and human hunger, but the reality of Monsanto’s seeds and the company’s ethics and commitment to fighting world hunger have little to do with either.
Eighty-five percent of all GM seeds are engineered for herbicide tolerance, most of these being Monsanto’s “Roundup Ready” cotton, corn, soy, and canola seeds. This allows plants to withstand significant amounts of pesticides being sprayed on it, in effect promoting pesticide use. As a result, there has been an increase in pesticide use in the United States since the introduction of GM seeds. Since the introduction of GM crops in the United States, more than 120 million pounds of additional pesticides were used.
At the same time, not a single GM crop has been commercially introduced that is intended to increase yield. Agronomists and plant scientists made far greater advances in yields through conventional breeding methods than they ever have with GM crops. In fact, there have been several studies which show that there are actually yield losses associated with Monsanto’s Roundup Ready soybeans. GM crops are not feeding the world, and they are not enabling us to produce more.
Monsanto wants you to believe their crops are feeding hungry children in Africa, and that they are allowing farmers to use fewer chemicals. But do their actions demonstrate that their concern lies solely in their profits?
  Dr. Mercola’s Comments:
Anyone who believes Monsanto’s proclamations of saving the world from environmental catastrophe and hunger is clearly not paying attention to some very blatant signs that this is not true.
It’s unfortunate that the U.S. has yet to follow the decision of several other countries that have already banned genetically modified crops. Germany, for example, recently became the sixth country in the European Union to take a stand against GM corn. Meanwhile, tens of millions of acres of GM corn are being planted in the U.S.
According to the French Professor Gilles-Eric Seralini, a molecular endocrinologist and a member of two French government commissions evaluating GM food, the corn variety in question, called MON 810, has shown statistically significant problems in animal studies.
They found the effects of the GM crops were similar to that of pesticides, causing inflammation disorders, and problems with livers and kidneys, two major organs involved with detoxification.
Another scientist, biology professor Bela Darvas of Hungary‘s Debrecen University, discovered that Monsanto’s Mon 810 is lethal to two Hungarian protected species.
So how does Monsanto respond to Darvas’ disturbing findings?
They simply refuse to give him any more Mon 810 corn to use in his tests. They’ve also refused his request for Mon 863, another GM variety. Is that really the enlightened action of an environmentally sensitive company that is looking out for not only your health, but the wellbeing of the planet?
Common GMO Myths
As The GM-Free Ireland Network points out, there are numerous GM biotechnology propaganda myths in circulation, and none of them are true. If you’ve been paying attention to the news about genetically modified plants, you’ve probably heard some of them already. (For the full list, please see this pdf.)
Myth #1: Genetic engineering is a continuation of traditional breeding methods
In fact, most GM crops are modified with the introduction of DNA from other species entirely. This never occurs in nature, or with traditional breeding methods.
Myth #2: Opponents of GM food are anti-science
Leading opponents of GM foods include the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Independent Science Panel, the U.S. Center for Food Safety, and numerous agronomic, environmental, and health scientists.
Myth #3: GM crops have higher yields
GM crop seeds currently on the market do not increase yields, and are not designed to. In fact, GM crops typically render lower yields.
For example, GM soya has decreased yields by up to 20 percent compared with non-GM soya. And up to 100 percent failures of Bt cotton have been recorded in India. This in turn has spurred a staggering number of suicides among India’s farmers. According to the National Crime Records Bureau of India, more than 182,900 Indian farmers took their own lives between 1997 and 2007, potentially due to GM crop failures. An estimated 46 Indian farmers commit suicide every day.
Additionally, recent studies by scientists from the USDA and the University of Georgia found that growing GM cotton in the U.S. can result in a drop in income by up to 40 percent.
Myth #4: Americans have been eating GM foods for 15 years without any health problems
This one is perhaps most deceptive as GM foods are not labeled in the U.S., which makes traceability and accountability impossible. There may or may not be obvious health problems, but it is carefully designed so that no one can find out for sure.
However, according to Jeffrey Smith, author of Seeds of Deception, what we do know is that between 1994 and 2001 – at the same time as GMO’s flooded the market – food related illnesses DOUBLED.
His findings show that GMO foods can be:
  • Allergenic
  • Toxic
  • Carcinogenic
  • Anti-nutritional
Although the major food giants are carrying on with their claim that GM foods are no different from conventionally grown varieties, the research says otherwise.
For example, GM peas were found to cause lung damage in mice; GM potatoes have been linked to cancer in rats; and bacteria in the human gut has been shown to take up DNA from genetically modified food under certain circumstances.
When viewed as a whole, GM foods are a disaster for the environment, an unviable solution to world hunger, and undoubtedly worse for your health.
GM Crops Fail to Live Up to Advertised Promises Again and Again
The fact remains that GM crops have failed to deliver on virtually every single promise and expectation. After 30 years of GMO experimentation, we have the data to show:No reduction in pesticides use; on the contrary, USDA data shows that GM crops has increased pesticide use by 50 million pounds from 1996 to 2003 in the U.S., and the use of glyphosate went up more than 15-fold between 1994 and 2005, along with increases in other herbicides to cope with rising glyphosate resistant superweeds.
GM crops do harm wildlife
, as revealed by UK and U.S. studies.
Bt resistant pests and Roundup tolerant superweeds render the two major GM crop traits useless. The evolution of Bt resistant bollworms worldwide have now been confirmed and documented.
Unpredictable transgene contamination is completely unavoidable, as science has recently revealed that the genome (whether plant, animal or human) is NOT constant and static, which is the scientific base for genetic engineering of plants and animals.
Instead, geneticists have discovered that the genome is remarkably dynamic and changeable, and constantly ‘conversing’ and adapting to the environment. This interaction determines which genes are turned on, when, where, by what and how much, and for how long. They’ve also found that the genetic material itself has the ability to be changed according to experience, passing it on to subsequent generations.
How to Avoid GM Foods
Avoiding GM products in your diet means avoiding an ever-growing number of ingredients, or choosing organic versions of them. This is not an easy task, especially if you eat processed food. However, the four most prevalent GM ingredients to look out for are:
  • Soy
  • Corn
  • Cottonseed
  • Canola
You’ll also want to avoid the offspring of these products, which includes items like maltodextrin, soy lecithin, and high fructose corn syrup.
You CAN Demand Better Food
It’s easy to sit back and think you can’t do a thing to change the current state of affairs, but the fact is, you CAN make a difference. You can demand something better — food that is still food, grown the way nature intended.
First and foremost, you can vote with your pocketbook by avoiding everything that contains GM ingredients, and ask your local supermarket to stock their shelves with more natural organic foods. Some supermarkets will even allow you to special order food items.
And don’t forget about your elected officials. Let them know how you feel about it, and what kind of policies you’re willing to support.
  • People in certain professions can play a significant role to advance this cause as well:
  • Chefs, restaurants and food companies can switch to non-GM sources
  • Retailers can remove or label GM products or offer in-store Non-GMO Shopping Guides
  • Religious leaders can help to educate their congregation
  • Health practitioners can provide patient education materials
  • Those in the education world can help make school cafeterias GM-free
  • Reporters can expose the health risks
  •
To get an idea of just how widespread GM ingredients are, I recommend taking a look at The GMO Food Guide. It lists 20 different food categories that include everything from baby food to chocolate.
And the incredible series Seeds of Doubt, written by staffers at the Sacramento Bee, can offer further guidance to fully understand the many problems associated with GM foods.
Last but not least, I urge everyone to watch the video The Future of Food, and forward the link to this video to your friends, family and acquaintances. This in-depth investigation into the disturbing truth behind genetically modified foods is one of the best documentaries made to date. It will help you understand how and why the genetic engineering we allow to be unleashed today is a very real threat to ALL future generations.
The genetic conspiracy…about Monsanto
Germany: Demonstrators watch as fields are destroyed containing gmo.  Allergies, insufficient testing, disregarded data, misinformation……testing that is totally inadequate.  No one can produce proof that gmo is harmless.  Super weeds are developing; people are getting sick.
Monsanto’s toxic crops are exceeded only by their lack of morality and lust for profits.  Bt crops require 2 to 3 times the water than heritage crops and excessive amounts of herbicides and pesticides.
Monsanto is also the maker of Aspartame, a synthetic sweetener used in more than 5000  food  products, including the diet soda you drink.  Aspartame converts to wood alcohol and formaldehyde in the human body, killing organs and causing or worsening diabetes and high blood pressure along with heart disease.
We all have a right to know where our food came from and whether or not it has been genetically altered.
Five Things to be Cautious of Regarding Your Tap Water and the Safer Alternatives
Leave a comment
 by www.SixWise.com
Excerpted from the article:
1. It May Contain Radon
Radon — a radioactive, cancer-causing gas that cannot be seen, smelled or tasted — in household water causes 30 to 1,800 deaths per year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Radon gas is easily released into the air when water is agitated, so even turning on a tap could release the toxic gas into your home’s air if the concentrations are high enough. The radon in this form becomes part of the radon load in your home’s air, and does most of its damage to your lungs.
You can also be exposed by actually ingesting the radon in the water. Because radon does evaporate readily into the air, surface waters, such as those from lakes and rivers, are less likely to contain high levels of the substance.
However, groundwater, which is used in wells, has not been exposed to much air, and therefore may contain much higher levels of radon. Wells filled by ground water supply about half the drinking water in the United States.
2. It Could be Exposing You to Toxic Chlorine, and Chlorine Byproducts, When You Shower
There are numerous studies that link drinking chlorinated water to increased risks of cancer, birth defects, miscarriages, and more. But what you may not realize is that showering or bathing in chlorinated water can be just as dangerous as drinking it, and even more so.
By taking a hot shower you end up absorbing over 600 percent more chlorine and other chemicals than you would from drinking the same un-filtered water all day!
This is because, when you shower, the warm water opens up your skin’s pores, making it like a sponge for chlorine. Meanwhile, the steam in your shower, which you readily inhale, is full of chlorine and its byproducts as well. Since your skin is the largest organ of your body, some estimates say that steam can transport into your body up to 100 times the toxic chemicals as you would get from drinking tap water.
3. It May Contain Carcinogenic Trichloroethylene, or TCE
Trichloroethylene, or TCE, a solvent with a fairly sweet odor and taste used in adhesives, paint and spot removers, and also to remove grease from metal airplane parts and clean fuel lines at missile sites, is a widespread pollutant of U.S. drinking water supplies.
shower waterShowering 10 minutes a day for 10 years in manganese-contaminated water could cause damage to your brain.
TCE is often described as the most pervasive industrial contaminant in drinking water. It has been linked to numerous health risks, such as kidney cancer, reproductive and developmental damage, impaired neurological function, and autoimmune disease.
4. It is Being Threatened by Pharmaceutical Pollution
Prescription drugs, along with medications given to livestock, are increasingly showing up in our ground water, soil, waterways and even our drinking water. That’s because our conventional sewage treatments may not be looking for drugs, and certainly don’t always remove them.
Adding to the problem are prescription drugs that aren’t used, then are flushed down the toilet or deposited in landfills — ultimately ending up in the environment.
This so-called “pharmaceutical pollution” could have major implications on wildlife, agriculture and humans — yet is only beginning to be studied.
5. Showering in Manganese-Contaminated Water Can be Toxic
Aside from the chlorine and chlorine byproducts, manganese, a naturally occurring substance in our air, soil, water and food, can also exist in your tap water.
What makes manganese so dangerous is that the current safety levels may not be adequate, and in excessive quantities it can cause a variety of health problems, including permanent nervous system damage.
Exposure can occur via many routes, drinking water, foods, manganese-containing pesticides, air, and more, but the most concerning source may come from something most of us do daily: shower.
A study by John Spangler, M.D., an associate professor of family medicine, and other researchers from Wake Forest University School of Medicine found that after showering 10 minutes a day for 10 years in manganese-contaminated water:
  • Children would be exposed to doses of manganese three times higher than doses that resulted in manganese deposits in the brains of rats.
  • Adults would be exposed to doses 50 percent higher than the rats.
According to the EPA, 0.5 milligrams/liter is the upper limit of manganese in water supplies, based on odor and taste of the water. However, the amount of manganese accumulated by breathing in shower vapors has not been considered, and even at 0.5 milligrams/liter researchers say manganese could cause brain injury.
“Inhaling manganese, rather than eating or drinking it, is far more efficient at delivering manganese to the brain,” Spangler said. “The nerve cells involved in smell are a direct pathway for toxins to enter the brain. Once inside these small nerves, manganese can travel throughout the brain.”
