We Are Stealing Iraqi Oil and Calling It Democracy.

Oil production sharing agreements should be more aptly called “How we stole the Iraqi’s oil and used our military to do it”.  The push to pass production sharing agreements through the Iraqi parliament has hit numerous bumps in the road.  The Iraqi parliament, which is nothing more than part of the puppet government set up by Bush and other global elitists, refused to pass the new oil laws necessary to allow up to 60% of Iraqi oil production to be owned by non-Iraqi entities.  That would be Exxon/Mobil, BP and Dutch Shell to you and me.

If you think or believe that the current oil prices have anything to do with whether or not we are sinking wells in the Gulf of Mexico, in ANWAR, or anywhere else on or around this continent, you probably shouldn’t be reading this article.  The current oil prices are directly tied to your willingness to continue to slaughter the people of a country whose economy is based on oil and which nationalizes its production rather than allowing a few greedy globalist elites to rape and plunder this national asset.  The higher they crank up the price per gallon, the more willing we are to kill people “over there” rather than control corporations “over here”.

When the Iraqi parliament refused in 2007 to pass new laws to benefit the above mentioned global parasites, the Bush regime went into high gear propaganda mode.  Supposedly, attacks by insurgents were way up and now we had to increase troop levels to protect our soldiers (and for other purposes).  Seems to me, if troop safety was ever a concern, they wouldn’t have been half way around the world fighting a pre-emptive war against a non-threatening country to gain access to their oil.

I don’t believe in coincidences and I don’t believe it’s coincidental that the failure to pass the long coveted agreements coincided with the troop surge which precipitated even more death and destruction in Iraq.  Neither do I believe that insurgent attacks were any more prevalent than at any other time.  The troop surge was nothing less than a signal to the puppet Iraqi government that there was nothing we would not do, no weapon we wouldn’t use, no bomb we wouldn’t drop, and no one we wouldn’t torture into submission to get those agreements passed.  And now that the agreements look like they will become a reality?  Why!  The insurgent attacks have dropped so much that it looks like some of our troops can begin coming home.  Go figure.

This is where I say “I told you so!”  Two years ago I wrote about this very issue and stated that until these agreements were passed to benefit the oil cartels, there would be no withdrawal, no end to the occupation and no end in sight to this war.  What is a nation like ours, whose economy is 45% dependent upon the war industry to do?

It seems that one of our diplomats reported to British newspapers that Israel has been put on “amber alert”, standby, with instructions to ready itself to attack Iran.  See, we aren’t going to attack them……Israel is; Israel that has been armed with more than 200 nuclear warheads in violation of the non-proliferation treaty.  Armed with weapons we have supplied them, manufactured and developed by our arms industry.  Israel that has been performing training exercises over Iran regularly for at least two years in an attempt to provoke them into war.  Supposedly we aren’t going to send any of our military to assist them.  Just more weapons and be there as a back up.

In my opinion, the Israeli people suffer from the same corruption of government as we do.  The Israeli government and those behind the scenes in Israel, who pull the strings, no more represent the Israeli people than Bush and Cheney represent America.  Neither government views its people as anything more than fodder for the cannons.  And neither government represents anyone other than a collection of obscenely wealthy multinationals who believe that we are all dispensable as long as they get what they desire.  And this international cabal of evil is now set to raze yet another mid-eastern country with the sole intent of seizing its assets and controlling the world’s oil supply.  So what if a few million Iranians die?

This does seem to be a matter of “when they do it, we call it terrorism, when we do it we call justified”.  America has lost any semblance of being a just or civil society.  We have been exposed to the world as corrupt, greedy, inhumane, unjust and murderous.  Rather than being an example to the world of what is right, of how good things can be when a democracy thrives, we have become the standard bearer for corruption and aggression.  It’s no wonder the rest of the world now views us as the biggest threat to peace.

More than this, we have been exposed as a country so dumbed down, so paralyzed with stupidity, we willingly tolerate a government that is actively working to take away our own democracy, our own freedoms while we sit idly by in our stupor.

This, as the Bush administration fabricates another phony threat with yet another country in another war for oil.

The Value of Motivational Lies

I remember seeing Bush on TV at some point in time, telling his tale of how he came to God.  Had that been almost anyone else telling that story I might have believed it.  What I was seeing was a man who realized that a story of this kind would tug at America’s religious heartstrings and maybe we wouldn’t be able to see the monster lurking beneath the surface.  In my opinion, this was one of the greatest motivational lies, told by one of the greatest liars of modern times.

Remember when Bush, the Rice, then Cheney, then Rumsfeld all stood berfore the camera’s at one point or another and not only told the nation that we would get even with those who attacked us, but if we didn’t…..there could be “smoking guns” in the form of mushroom clouds over (name your city).  These were outright motivational lies.  And they worked!  We wanted revenge! And how else could they get us to not only  condone but to send our family members to war on the side of the world, especially one against a country that had no part in 9/11?  And when the lies were exposed? Well……they just mispoke. But we remained motivated, most of us preferring the lie versus the truth.

Other motivational lies have come in the form of statements such as “if you’re not with us, you’re against us”.  We had a president and entire administration along with a cadre of corrupt individuals who had already decided to act unilaterally and if they could induce other countries via monetary donations or quid pro quo, so much the better.  They didn’t care if anyone was with us…..they weren’t the ones who would have to go to war; they would just be those who reaped the rewards.

Another motivational lie was, “if you don’t support the war, you don’t support the troops.”  And how many of us jumped in behind that one?  Then the caskets starting coming home and it became apparent that we were destroying a country that had done nothing to us.  But all of that meant nothing because Bush claimed “God” told him to strike Iraq.  At this point, if you didn’t support the war……you obviously didn’t support God either.  Talk about motivation!

The night Bush appeared on TV and announced that we would wage a pre-emptive war of aggression against Iraq, his concern was not the number of innocent Iraqi’s that might be slaughtered.  He wasn’t concerned that many of our soldiers would likely forfeit their lives or be horribly wounded.  No…..he looked directly into the camera and addressed the American public with a mesaage really intended for the Iraqi people and said, “Do not destroy the oil wells”.  Apparently Bush’s God needs oil for some reason.

I personally believe that if God ever were to speak to George W. Bush, it would be something more along the lines of …..”George! Shut up! You’re lying!”

…………………………………………………………

Under this presidency, a fraud in itself, one fraud after another has been purpetrated on the American people.  It’s our own fault.  We allowed this to continue.  We have allowed ourselves to be lulled into compliance by the notion that government wanted only to protect us from those “terrorists”, while never admitting that those we needed to fear most were walking around unhindered in D.C.

Many of us also tuned into hate radio and the continuous vomit inducing ramblings of Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter and Bill O’Reilly among many others.  And didn’t they make some of feel good with constant pandering to the worst in humanity and continuing the motivational lies.  They almost made you feel like it was OK to be stupid, to hate without reason and to spread unfounded lies and misinformation……right up to the point that listening to them, believing them, started costing you your freedom; right up until it was your son or daughter, your husband or father who had to go fight a war for oil, knowing that they were not being sent to war to bring freedom or demcracy to a country that desired neither, but rather, to help Mobil/Exxon, British Petroleum and Dutch Shell gain access to the massive oil deposits they had been prohibited from accessing prior to the war.

And here we are today, just months from the next presidential election and what has changed?  Bush no longer claims God speaks to him, but congress sits on its collective rear ends and pretends that it would be a waste of time to hold Bush & Co. accountable for the lies and deceptions that lead us to war.  All our hopes for accountability and punnishment for the mass murder of 1.2 million Iraqi’s and the deaths of more than 4,000 of our soldiers all for the sake of oil cartels and greed…..is a waste of time.  So says our congress.  So says Princess Pelosi and Senator Reid.

The success of the 2006 elections which brought Democrats into control of both houses was premised on the greatest of all motivational lies.  The premise and promise of change.  Change predicated on correcting the corruption of this administration, changes that would reinstate our constitutional liberities and protections and repeal the eggregious actions of the last seven years.  Instead, we got a new majority that has been just as active in assaulting our liberties, just as protective of corruption and deception.

And now as the summer comes into full swing, we have to watch for another motivational lie that will mark the beginning of the war with Iran.  At some point, we will be told motivational lies to meant to make us support war on Iran.  At what point will we motivate ourselves to stand up and say “enough!”

What Else do You Need For Proof?

Today, while warnings continue regarding the breaching of levee’s in at least 37 different locations along the Mississippi and affecting several states, congress took it upon itself to pass the FISA bill allowing the spy agencies to spy without warrant or reason on any American citizen.  I not only question the constitutional legality of this law, but also, the timing of its passage.

While the Midwest sinks under water and the agricultural heartland of the country is declared a national disaster, congress could only muster enough interest to pass yet another invasive and intrusive law guaranteed to give the federal government and all its spy agencies the right to declare a surveillance war on the people of the United States.  And like the compliant sheeple we have become, few of us will complain.  After all, we have to be tough on those terrorists.

The neo-con snarks that operate inside the beltway are declaring some kind of victory over grassroots movements who aggressively opposed the communistic FISA bill.  Obviously, some people are just so clueless that it never occurs to them that they will be spyed on too.  They don’t worry though, because they haven’t done anything wrong so they don’t mind having their privacy invaded or their rights erroded.  Personally, it is exactly because I haven’t done anything wrong that I do mind.

And while this victory dance by neo-cons continues, thousands of acres of grain crops are being washed away and people in those areas are scrambling to save what they can of personal possessions before the water takes even those and makes their homes uninhabitable.

Considering this nightmare and the coming impact on food supplies that will result…..wouldn’t you have thought that our congress would have been focused on the long term affects?  Maybe instead of passing legislation that is so Anti-American and giving the New World Order another open door to step through…….maybe they might have spent their time more affectively, more beneficially by trying to secure food that is going to be in short supply as a result of these floods?  But, no.  It is apparently far more important to pass legislation against America’s people than it is to prepare for a food shortage to make sure they can eat.

Maybe another line they could have pursued is why billions have been dumped into the Army Corps of Engineers over the years, and yet these levee’s are failing.  Our infrastructure is allowed to deteriorate to the point where privatization seems the only way out.  In order to make this appealing, the infrastructure must be allowed not only to deteriorate, but also to devolve into such a state of disrepair, to become such a threat to the survival of the population that people are begging for help and will take it from where ever it seems to be coming from.  This is especially effective when those begging to be helped are swimming past their homes.

Maybe instead of spending billions and billions on unwinnable wars of aggression, or subsidizing and crediting huge oil cartels for raping the American public, or giving tax cuts to people that are obscenely wealthy and who have no allegiance or loyalty to this country……maybe congress could have spent some time on figuring out how to shore up our infrastructure.  But doing that might have presented a future obstacle to selling off sovereign land and constructed infrastructure to foreign corporations and investors and private investors here at home.

So the Midwest floods and drowns and floats away along with future food sources and congress fiddles while the water rises.  If today in congress did not give you the proof you need that our government on almost all levels is dysfunctional and no longer concerned with those it is supposed to represent, I don’t know what will.

Congress has asked for 200 billion for flood damage costs.  How nice.  Another 200 billion on top of the 10 trillion we already have in national debt…….and where will this money be borrowed from?  And what will the government use as collateral on this new debt?  The land that is currently under water?

The floods are a national disaster for many reasons, but congress is also a national disaster that needs tending to.  These people have to go.  We need to implement term limits for all elected officials and appointee’s.  That would include the court appointee’s right up and through the Supremes.  No one in our government should be allowed to make a career out of politics.  It’s not conducive to good government.

My heart goes out to my neighbors and friends and family here in the Midwest who are losing everything in these floods.  I just think its unfortunate that the Potomac doesn’t do us all a favor and breach its banks.
