The Greenville Post

Patrick Armstrong

“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Consumers of the print or electronic output of the League of Copy Typists and their Instructors are expected to believe many impossible things and believe them, not just before breakfast, but all day too.

Come to think it, believing any part of the official Skripal story, from the incredibly lethal nerve agent that didn’t kill them, to the spectacular coincidence of the British Army’s chief nurse being on the scene, to the re-wrapped perfume bottle would tax the White Queen’s ability. Here’s a list. But that’s not to say that we’re finished yet: there always seems to be another absurdity like the dead ducks.

Psychoanalysing NATO: Gaslighting

Editor note:  This is quite possibly one of the most relevant opinion pieces that I have read in recent years.  Please take the time to review it and pay attention to the ways you are propagandized and gaslighted.

https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2018/07/17/psychoanalysing-nato-gaslighting.html

NOTE: Because “NATO” these days is little more than a box of spare parts out of which Washington assembles “coalitions of the willing”, it’s easier for me to write “NATO” than “Washington plus/minus these or those minions”.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid has called on Russia to explain “exactly what has gone on” after two people were exposed to the Novichok nerve agent in Wiltshire. (BBC)

The Russian state could put this wrong right. They could tell us what happened. What they did. And fill in some of the significant gaps that we are trying to pursue. We have said they can come and tell us what happened. I’m waiting for the phone call from the Russian state. The offer is there. They are the ones who could fill in all the clues to keep people safe. (UK security minister Ben Wallace)

Leaving aside their egregious flouting of the elemental principle of English justice, note that they’re uttering this logical idiocy: Russia must have done it because it hasn’t proved it didn’t. Note also, in Javid’s speech, the amusing suggestion that Russia keeps changing its story; but to fit into the official British story “novichok” must be an instantly lethal slow acting poison which dissipates quickly but lasts for months.

This is an attempt to manipulate our perception of reality. In a previous essay I discussed NATO’s projection of its own actions onto Russia. In this piece I want to discuss another psychological manipulation – gaslighting.

The expression comes from the movie Gaslight in which the villain manipulates her reality to convince his wife that she is insane. Doubt the official Skripal story and it is you – you “Russian troll” – who is imagining things. Only Russian trolls would question Litvinenko’s deathbed accusation written in perfect English handed to us by a Berezovskiy flunky; or the shootdown of MH17; or the invasion of Ukraine; or the cyber attack on Estonia. Only a Russian troll would observe that the fabulously expensive NATO intelligence agencies apparently get their information from Bellingcat. Argumentum ad trollem is everywhere: count the troll accusations here or admire the clever anticipatory use of the technique there.

This is classic gaslighting – I’m telling the truth, you’re the crazy one.

We may illustrate the eleven signs of “gaslighting” given in Psychiatry Today by Stephanie A. Sarkis with recent events.

They tell blatant lies.

The Vision: A Creeping European Dytopian State 1984 Revisited

While Brussels reveals their clouded vision for a European army to supersede Nato, Theresa May is blocking the EU Army plan, according to European diplomats and says “no” to using Great Britain as its launching pad and headquarters.  The idea of a unified EU military force has long been discussed but Theresa May is allegedly standing in the way of the army taking another step towards completion.

The EU is desperate to establish a Military Planning and Conduct Capabilities (MPCC) unit but amid rising tensions between London and Brussels, the project has thankfully been stalled.  The EU plan would be tasked with setting up EU military training missions in Somalia, a failed state riddled with terrorist activity.

In spite of the Brussels setback,  the EU is still positioning itself to overtake the U.S. in becoming the greatest Orwellian society in the western world.  While there are a few EU countries that resist, under the pretense of having to deal with the terrorist threat, certain European member- States are beginning to voluntarily surrender their power to a dominant EU political body, which is meant to erode national sovereignty and now EU leaders wants to have a continent-wide police force to “defend everyone” from incoming terrorists.  It is the greatest Trojan Horse of all time while the masses are allowing this to be done in broad daylight.

Say goodbye to the free state.

America, are you awake?

Panetta, Dempsey and treason: And Congress did nothing

The recent statements by Leon Panetta and joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, to the effect that they are under no obligation to the Congress to seek their permission to start wars.  Both Panetta and Dempsey claim their authority comes from the United Nations and NATO.  These were clear and unambiguous declarations of submission to foreign governments, agencies and organizations and ended with the dismissing of the Constitution as not applicable to them or their decisions. I have to wonder why both men were not frog-marched out of the meeting and straight to jail.  But then, we are talking about the District of Criminals here and we know it is rare that anyone from the District ever goes to jail no matter how anti-American, unlawful or unconstitutional or treasonous their activities or views.

Both men did however, say they might inform congress

Panetta was asked by Senator Jeff Sessions, “We spend our time worrying about the U.N., the Arab League, NATO and too little time, in my opinion, worrying about the elected representatives of the United States. As you go forward, will you consult with the United States Congress?”

The Defense Secretary responded “You know, our goal would be to seek international permission. And we would come to the Congress and inform you and determine how best to approach this, whether or not we would want to get permission from the Congress.”

So, if I understand this correctly: They would seek permission from non-US entities and then if they thought it was any business of the United States as to how our military would be used…….they would make a decision as to whether or not they would “want” to get permission from Congress?  And these two are actually still walking around free?

Note:  My goal would be to see Panetta and Dempsey both tried for treason and publicly hung.  International permission be damned and congress along with it.

I believe it was this moment in time that Senator Sessions and his companions in the meeting realized that they were being given notice that their services were no longer needed.  Panetta and Dempsey publicly, effectively declared that Congress was of no further use.  More

War Profiteering = Big Business

On a Board I frequent, someone brought up the subject of War Profiteers. Curious as to the situation now, I wondered how these folks are fairing in these difficult global economic times. Seems like they might be doing alright and maybe I should just keep “quiet”. Not questioning Profiteering Policy tends to get one promoted these days or at least the option to live a bit longer (See related Gunwalker Reporter death in Mexico).

Today the Washington Post tells us about the gracious monetary sharing of NATO to our little subjugated relative in the east – Afghanistan.

Apparently NATO has such an extended amount of resources, it was decided to send an “Iron Mountain” of supplies to Afghanistan. More

“the thousands natural shocks that flesh is heir to.” – HamletFor decades, we have known that heavy metals and chemicals can cause grave physical harm. Going back to Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring,” we have known and been amply warned of the serious consequences of using or being exposed to these poisons in our daily activities. Thousands of these are well-documented carcinogens. More
