“I guess, Henry Waxman was the only person to discover this close tie between financial reform and dietary supplements.  Who would have imagined such a thing?  Guess that’s why he’s a Representative; he can divine the deep connections between corrupt financial institutions and your right to use and purchase dietary supplements to help offset the toxic effects of gmo food, chemicals, additives, pesticides and herbicides that have contaminated what was once nutritional food sources.”

Contrary to the news flying around that Codex Alimentarius with regards to vitamins and supplements is dead: it is not.  In the usual fashion of all things slimy and slippery in the District of Criminals, the bill originally promoted by Sen. John McCain (R):S.3002 The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA) of 2010 A bill, to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to more effectively regulate dietary supplements that may pose safety risks unknown to consumers”, quickly became another mill stone around the Senators’ neck as the public backlash on this one was massive.

Apparently the Senator was unaware that unlike toxic pharmaceuticals routinely approved by the FDA as safe and effective (if you consider possible death, stroke, heart attack, blood clots, etc., ) as an acceptable side affect, dietary supplements and nutritional aids have no such history.   In fact, those manufacturers of nutritional supplements would not consider death as a result of the use of their products as simply “collateral damage” to be expected in pursuit of mega profits.

The Senator quickly withdrew the bill, but that wasn’t the end of it.

Off it went to the committee that is supposed to be writing or re-writing or whatever it is they do while their stakeholders (campaign donors, big corps, lobbyists) write or re-arrange the language in the bills to make sure Corporation (X) makes kabillions in profits and at the same making sure they are totally unaccountable or liable for whatever toxic poisons they dump on the American public.  That committee is the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee whose members can be viewed here on the right side of the page. Financial reform includes another attack on your right to vitamins….no joke!

First, John McCain introduced a bill that would severely damage the vitamin industry.

Thanks to you, the bill was killed!

Then, its key provisions were inserted into the Food Safety bill.

But then, again thanks to you, these provisions were pulled.

Now, the Alliance for Natural Health tells us these provisions might become law in the worst possible way. Unless you act, the financial “reform” bill could give new powers to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), including the power to regulate food supplements — perhaps regulate supplements right out of existence.

DownsizeDC.org proposes the Write the Laws Act (WTLA) to prevent outrages like this. Congress must NOT delegate their legislative power to unelected bureaucrats.

These agencies must not be allowed to thwart the will of the people!

Please tell Congress to oppose any amendment to Chris Dodd’s financial “regulation” bill that will empower the FTC. Tell them to introduce the Write the Laws Act instead.

The Food Safety bill was already bad, but it may now get worse. Your vitamins are still in danger

Do you remember John McCain’s bill that would have controlled your use of vitamins?

That bill appears to be dead, but it’s provisions may rise from the grave.

It seems that McCain only agreed to abandon his legislation if key provisions were included in the so-called Food Safety bill.

The Food Safety bill was already bad, but it may now get worse.

Please send Congress a letter opposing both the so-called Food Safety bill, and John McCain’s provisions to control your use of vitamins.

Mounting public rejection of “McCain the Candidate” after submitting S. 3081

Update from: Dan Scott re: S.3081 The Enemy Belligerent Act

__________________________________________

April 2nd, Rep. David Vitter a co-sponsor of McCain’s S.3081 legislation, after criticism from liberals and libertarians, withdrew his support. McCain currently is short one necessary co-sponsor. Prudently I must consider Vitter’s withdraw may have been done to (attenuate) mounting public rejection of “McCain the Candidate” resulting from Americans learning about McCain’s insidious legislation. Meanwhile S.3081 lays in wait. More

Sen. McCain’s S.3081 would eliminate several Constitutional protections allowing Government to arbitrarily pick up Americans on mere suspicion

Does Palin Support McCain’s bill—Indefinite Detention of Citizens On Mere Suspicion?

On March 4, 2010, Sen. John McCain introduced S.3081, The “Enemy Belligerent Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010.”

Sen. McCain’s S.3081 would eliminate several Constitutional protections allowing Government to arbitrarily pick up Americans on mere suspicion—with no probable cause. Your political opinions and statements made against U.S. Government could be used by Authorities to deem you a “hostile” “Enemy Belligerent” to cause your arrest and indefinite detention. S.3081 is so broadly written innocent anti-war protesters and Tea Party Groups might be arrested and detained just for attending demonstrations. More

What is a “Belligerent”?  According to the online free dictionary it is one who is:

1. Inclined or eager to fight; hostile or aggressive.

2. Of, pertaining to, or engaged in warfare.

n.One that is hostile or aggressive, especially one that is engaged in war.

Black’s Law 8th Edition,Pg. 164, says only that it is a country involved in a war or other international armed conflict.

Obviously, this bill authored by McCain and Lieberman is a declaration of war against the people of the (50) sovereign yet united, states.

It would appear that the corporate United States is in fact an Enemy Belligerent, having waged multiple undeclared wars of aggression against non-threatening countries and now openly has declared war against the American public under this bill.

Senators McCain and Lieberman seem to have turned their attention to constructing the means by which legal US citizens can be detained, interrogated and tortured.  It would also allow the indefinite detention of any individual anywhere in the world for any reason or no reason.  This must be the facilitating act to support Obama’s “Prolonged Detention Programs” where US citizens can be indefinitely detained for crimes they never committed……but the government via some lunatic in some office hidden deep in the White house decides needs re-education because they voiced their dissent about egregious government policies.  More

Military prosecutors quit in protest over abuse of prisoners

Bush promised to close it.

McCain promised to close it.

Experienced military prosecutors have resigned over the out-of-control abuses and violations of the rule of law there.

Now the right wing psychopaths who nearly succeeded in destroying the country by supporting a criminal in the White House are howling because Obama is doing what needs to be done.
