“In other words, the twenty-first-century war on terror has melded thoroughly with the twentieth-century war on drugs, and the result couldn’t be anymore disturbing: police forces that increasingly look and act like occupying armies…”

________________________________________________

The direction being achieved by militarizing our cops is to train them to be an occupying force under the control of the Federal government and its minions instead of being

untitledvvv our friendly public servant  whose job was once to “serve and protect”.

As most Americans firmly oppose the current morphing of local police from protects and serves and community policing to federally militarized and federally subsidized occupying force.

In the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Mo., an unarmed 18-year-old black man was killed by police in broad daylight.
By now, what’s happening in Ferguson is about so many second-order issues— the militarization of police with systemic racism, and how citizens can redress grievances, among other things—that it’s worth remembering what actually happened…

Last week Ferguson was sending shock waves across America and around the world. Many viewers first tuning into the national news thought they were observing a 3rd world riot that we so often see coming from places like the Middle East, Russia, China or some out of control banana republic. No these pictures were coming from Ferguson Missouri in the heartland of America. We as Americans need to examine the problem of the militarization of our police.

Dr, Edwin Vieira, Jr. writes in his new book that we now have a choice to make – do we want to continue to live in a police state, or do we do something about it.
As Karl Bickel, a senior policy analyst with the Justice Department’s Community Policing Services office, observes, police across America are being trained in a way that emphasizes force and aggression. He notes that recruit training favors a stress-based regimen that’s modeled on military boot camp rather than on the more relaxed academic setting a minority of police departments still employ. The result, he suggests, is young officers who believe policing is about kicking ass rather than working with the community to make neighborhoods safer. Or as comedian Bill Maher reminded officers recently:

“The words on your car, ‘protect and serve,’ refer to us, not you.”

The New York State Chapter of Oath Keepers (NYOK) has written a letter of demand to the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC).The New York Oath Keepers officers are demanding a public correction of that report which would exclude the use of their name in conjunction with “extremists” who may be considered “threats to law enforcement” and may be considered “anti-government”.

According to the Oath keepers web site on June 12, 2014, the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC), which is managed by the New York State Police, issued New York State Counter Terrorism Bulletin: CTM 14-07: Recent Spike in Violence Targeting Law Enforcement.
In that bulletin, the NYSIC referred to three recent attacks on Law Enforcement Officers in the month of June, one in Canada and two in the United States. The bulletin stated:

“Based upon reporting it appears all the suspects in these incidents were motivated by elements of a far right anti-government ideology with a particular fixation on law enforcement.”

Here is a summary of the three incidents that the NYSIC used to justify their unwarranted connection to the New York Oath Keepers and other constitutional Liberty groups in New York State. (see full details of these (3) allegations below) [1]

NO RATIONAL CONNECTION

So, what exactly caused those who authored the NYSIC bulletin to make the determination that we are a far-right extremist organization, posing a threat to police, when the New York Oath Keepers had absolutely nothing to do with the aforementioned incidents?

Last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to reauthorize three expiring provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act. While the bill they passed allegedly strengthened civil liberties in reality, the Committee failed to make any meaningful improvements to the Patriot provisions that violate citizen’s basic rights. Strangely, the Obama Administration played a significant behind the scene role in opposing stronger civil liberties protections, directly contradicting Obama’s positions as a Senator. More

Former ICE Official Richard Padilla Cramer

As an ICE official he invested cash in global drug deals endangered the lives of U.S. and Mexican law enforcement by selling secret U.S. Government information to Mexican Drug Cartels (MDC’s) and ran huge cocaine shipments to Spain via US ports. Feds say he joined cartel full time after he retired from ICE.

Richard Padilla Cramer, a 26-year veteran of the U.S. anti-drug complex was arrested by DEA agents last month and is behind bars in Florida awaiting the results of a Federal Grand Jury investigation. Cramer was arrested and jailed after U.S. Government officials accused him of directing a massive cocaine shipment to Spain via the United States, and selling important information in law enforcement databases to a vicious Mexican Drug Cartel.  ATLANTA-Associated Press and others are reporting that undercover plainclothes police officers shot and killed a pastor when according to police the 28-year-old father-to-be resisted efforts to question him about a passenger in his car who was allegedly the target of a drug sting, authorities said.

Jonathan Paul Ayers of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Lavonia wasn’t even targeted in the probe nor did he have a criminal record yet this tragedy ended in a police shooting in a public gas station Tuesday, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead said.

But drug task-force agents say they opened fire on the pastor only after he tried to avoid them, putting his car in reverse and striking one of the officers. A video recording of the shooting obtained by the Laguna Journal clearly shows that the plainclothes undercover officers were pursuing Ayers and firing before he put his vehicle in reverse.

One witness asked “those guys looked more like criminals than cops, how was that guy or anyone else to know”? When undercover plainclothes officers are operating it seems they have a responsibility to clearly identify who they are so innocent folks won’t think they maybe being rob”.

Bankhead said agents approached Ayers after he dropped a woman off at a store in downtown Toccoa, which is about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta. The passenger allegedly was the person being investigated by the task force.

A grainy surveillance video from a nearby store shows two drug task-force agents emerge from a black SUV before Ayers’ small car backs up. The two men fire into the passenger side of Ayers’ car, and then it takes off with the agents running behind it, the video posted on WNEG-TV in Toccoa shows. The station owner would not release the video to The Associated Press.

Bankhead said Ayers died Wednesday, about an hour after he had surgery.  He said the agent who was hit by Ayers’ car was treated for minor injuries. More

 This day is coming.  border_dees
According to Mexico’s largest newspaper El Universal a Guerrero state senator was assassinated.  State Senator Armando Chavarria Barrera, leader of the Congress of the state of Guerrero, was assassinated by gunmen in front of his home yesterday morning.  The Senator was one of the most renowned and respected politicians in the left-wing PRD party and considered a natural candidate for governor in the 2011 elections.  The two trigger-men and a driver who escaped in an SUV are believed hired assassins for the Mexican Drug Cartel La Familia. The motive for the assassination is believed political  and norco related. Mexican Drug Cartels are getting more and more involved in not only statewide politics but also national. The cartels have been threatening to take out any opposition by whatever means necessary. The PRD immediately condemned it as political.

However in the aftermath of the assassination of Sen.: Barrera some party leaders disagreed on the motive behind the murder.  The Chief of Government of the Federal District, Marcelo Ebrard, is certain the crime was political, while the Governor of Guerrero, Zeferino Torreblanca Gallindo, rejects speculation of political reasons.  He said it is yet too early to begin asserting such motives Mexican President Felipe Calderon extended his condolences to the family and promised full support of the Federal Justice Department (PRG) in the investigation.
