Mike Pence will undoubtedly confront Iran militarily in the Persian Gulf. If Israel attacks Gaza or moves troops into Lebanon again, Pence will provide support and US troops. On June 1, 2018 the United States was the only country to vote no on a United Nations Resolution submitted by member countries that condemned Israel for the deaths of numerous Palestinians that were murdered by Israeli troops. Religion and politics use the same method of operation. People collect into groups either in religion and/or political philosophies, that supposedly all think and believe the same things. Then, once collected the group is told there is a (devil) a (foreign terrorist) a boogy man of sorts who has harmed them and wants to harm them again and now……..lets go kill them before they kill us. Constantly presenting your gathered believers with enemies to focus them on, is key to either system. What would God be without a [devil]? What would Republicans or Democrats be, without the other?
What would Israel be without the Arabs?
First: I have no issue with Israel. I do not engage in the “I hate the Jews” dialogue or thinking. I am not afraid of the Jewish people although I have been warned repeatedly, that I should be. I do not believe they are some form of alien race, as others have opined. I do not believe that the Jewish leaders eat babies for lunch, engage in satanic blood rituals and sacrifice virgins, nor do I believe that the true, pure Jews, the actual Hebrews, have their budding horns removed at birth. I do not believe they are an evil population, hellbent on destroying everyone but themselves, although some Israeli’s and some others who are not, may aspire to this.
I refuse to be so desperate to paint the Jewish people negatively, that in the attempts to justify my fears I would actually include denying the holocaust of WW2. My issue with the narrative on the holocaust is that it centers on the Jews to the virtual exclusion of all others who were part of the mass genocide, but by far, not all. Millions and millions of non-Jews were murdered along with them. And no one was so selective in this purging of disposable humanity to care whether they were actually Jewish or not. But if they were, it helped the Nazi cause and helped to keep the German people rallied around one targeted enemy.
The genocide touched every community, every religion, and every individual who got in the way of the German Army and the Third Reich. If you were not Aryan, you just simply had no value. An estimated 13-20 million were killed by the Germans, Germans included, depending on who is doing the reporting. But the fact remains, if one person, regardless of race, religion or politics died, it was one too many.
The genocidal policies of the Nazis resulted in the deaths of about as many Polish Gentiles as Polish Jews, thus making them co-victims in a Forgotten Holocaust. While we must never forget what transpired during this period, we do a dishonor to all those who perished when we fail to acknowledge that the holocaust encompassed far more than Jews. Still, at the end of WW2, England and many other countries in Europe decided the best way to stop Jews from settling in their neighborhoods again as what remained of them emerged from the camps, they would give them a piece of Palestine where they could establish them selves. This was not done because of religious writings, prophecies or any other mystical belief. It was done as an expediency and mostly as a result of viewing the Jews just as the Germans did only they were far too shrewd to admit this openly.
I doubt anyone then or now, thinks for one moment this was an act of kindness.
So, they gave them a piece of someone else’s country. And I suppose this was just fine, unless it happens that you lived there and it was your land being given away. Religion was immediately invoked to justify this and required a reciting of old documents, writings, so-called scriptures, prophecies, whatever. These supposedly said this was actually their land and had been 2000 or more years ago.
I have listened to all sides of this from people who try hard to convince me that what has transpires with the genocide of the Palestinians, is justified. I have also listened to the reciting of so-called historical facts from those who state openly that they support Israel first, ( Again, what are you doing here?) information that supposedly proves that 2000 years ago, more or less, Israel was a state and that the name Palestine did not exist, or existed as Palestinia or other names. Somehow, this is supposed to secure the position of the state of Israel as owner of the lands of what I know to be Palestine: what has been known as Palestine for centuries. Through their own recitation of the history of this land, it has always been some version of Palestine in which the ancient Hebrew tribes traveled as their nomadic lives dictated, but ruled by various other states which constantly renamed it after they claimed it.

A number of intriguing (and horrific) questions and theorized or partial answers have occurred to me over the past several weeks, which I will try to explore here.
For starters, what really provokes (or possesses) human beings to commit or endorse heinous acts of revolting violence and cruelty in the course of their purposeful lives?
What. For instance, would motivate the drivers of modern Zionism to endorse or commit genocide by strong military force endlessly for months against an already psychologically and physically abused, essentially unarmed population in Gaza over a desperately deployed arsenal of rockets akin to fireworks rockets?
What provokes a small percentage of extremist Islamic radicals to flaunt to the world and exult in apparent beheadings and mass-murders perpetrated hourly against any who dare to think differently?
And what provokes members of the world’s unified power-cult psychopathic cabal to blow to dust thousands of people, on 9/11/01, impossibly blaming fanciful foreign boogeymen, and then obliterate hundreds of thousands senselessly together with their targeted countries? More

So where are those pious individuals who claim to be Christians? Those who claim to be blessed with God’s love, mercy and grace? Those who claim they are doing God’s work, following God’s words? Where are you in this wholesale slaughter of the remnants of Palestine? Their blood is on your religiously fanatic hands as you sit in these churches cheering the deaths and carnage of a people who are at the mercy of serial killers.
How many lives will be lost in the name of religion, or ethnic cleansing and that great book of myths, magic and the preposterous that so many cling to?
The Holocaust of WW2 was a horror. Why is the holocaust of the Palestinians acceptable? And why would an ethnic religious order, now called Israel, perpetrating what they claim was done to them was so terrible we should never forget it……unless of course THEY do it. Then its God’s work. I realize my views on this are not politically correct, but I refuse to sit silently as so many others do who hold the same views as I do, out of fear that those driven insane by religious mysticism and magical thinking and a perverse interpretation of scripture, will attack. And they will. And those attacks, composed of profane language, vicious verbal assaults, remarks so filthy that it shocks the mind, will all come from people , many of whom are “born again”, who are so-called “Christians” professing some kind of relationship with their God.The most vile and horrendous remarks I have ever seen posted on public venues have come from individuals who claim a personal relationship with “God”.
I’m getting too old for all of this. I didn’t serve my country to see it handed over to a country that will turn on us at the drop of a hat if they think we have what they might want.
I can’t even enjoy my morning coffee with my friends at the local café because half of them are quoting the bible and claiming God will punish us if we don’t support Israel, the other half are screaming bloody murder (literally) over the slaughter of the Palestinians while we watch. I am giving up on religion because I think everyone involved in it is demonstrating publicly that they are mentally incompetent. They have been brainwashed since childhood into believing the most ridiculous of stories based on magic, mysticism, invisible beings, and the hope that if they just say the right things, believe in things that common sense tells them cannot possibly be true, somehow they will gain entry into an invisible utopia and get to meet their lifelong invisible “friend”. I was one of them. I know what I speak. In today’s world, this magical thinking has allowed many of these uber-religious people to become enthralled at the idea of slaughtering the Palestinians.
Ask yourself what kind of “Christian” you are that this would be what your “God” would want?
After all, weren’t the Jewish people picked on throughout history? Didn’t they suffer through the Holocaust? Yes, they were and they did. But apparently being given a parcel of land that belonged historically to someone else, was not enough. Since that gift was bestowed on them, they have launched more than 300 attacks against neighboring countries. They have antagonized, threatened, attacked, harassed, bombed every country around them, and generally caused upheaval in the region. But its all good: they are God’s chosen people. Really…..
While the US government tried to drum up support for attacking Syria for “human rights” violations, and subsequently tried to find a way to insert our military into the Ukraine uprising, Israel continued its genocide of the Palestinians. And our government and numerous so-called “Christian” churches have cheered them on. From what the boys at the café told me, their God loves nothing more than blood and lots of it.
I have to ask the question: What God is it that you believe in that would condone, desire or enjoy the massacre of an entire population in order to be satisfied?
These are my friends, some I served with in the military. While some of them may suffer from ptsd, I think I must be suffering from ptrd……….post traumatic religious disorder. As a country we have attacked and destroyed, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya in just the past decade. While we claim love of God and country, we assist, encourage, and help fund the complete destruction of the Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli’s. Even if this were true, and at this point in time I do have my doubts, the problem appears to be that no one said what God might have chosen them for.

This is kind of like pointing out the speck in your neighbor’s eye, while ignoring the timber in your own. Is the Israeli Mossad not equally as terroristic if not more so? Why have we not labeled them as a terrorist group? Why is no one prosecuted for funding a known terrorist organization known as the Mossad?
Oh! I forgot myself there for a minute. Israel is our friend. The Israeli’s are God’s favorites. When the Israeli’s commit genocide, murder, and attack others its all okay.

Israel has authorized calling 40,000 reserve troops for active ground duty as the government considers a ground invasion of Gaza.
Israel has been bombing Gaza since June 29th in heavy airstrikes, in response to rockets shot across the border by Hamas. Israel is vowing to stamp out rocket attacks with more bombs and has ruled out a cease-fire at this time.
Here is a synopsis of how this current mess got started:
Three Israeli teenage boys were reported kidnapped on June 12, 2014 in the West Bank. Their bodies were discovered on June 30th. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately blamed Hamas, even though the incident occurred near the West Bank which is governed by the Palestinian Authority (PA), not Hamas. Hamas operates in Gaza.
Netanyahu said that Hamas would pay. Hamas denied the charges of kidnapping the boys. Israel has failed to present specific evidence against Hamas.
There was no strategic benefit for Hamas to kill the three Israeli boys.
Israel censored the media from reporting on a phone call from the boys the night that they went missing.
Israeli police received a phone call from 16-year-old Gilad Shaar, one of the kidnapped boys, on June 12th. The call was recorded and gunshots could be heard in the background after the abductor told them to put their heads down. The police claim that they thought the call was a prank.
Why would Israel ban the media from reporting on the phone call that indicated the boys were dead?
Critics say that Israel used the opportunity over the next 18 days before the bodies were discovered to arrest more than 400 Palestinians and to conduct aggressive searches on 1300 sites, including homes in the West Bank. Five Palestinians were reported to have been killed during the search operation. More

Most of us have dispensed with the fictional divisions of party lines, having concluded that the lies and egregious conduct occurs with regularity in both factions of the one party system that exists in the District of Criminals. While some seem to think referring to Washington D.C. in this manner is disrespectful, I disagree.
Our Constitution, or what is left of it, and many of our common laws are violated, struck down, and otherwise unlawfully tampered with by the very same people who swore to uphold them. (Is this not an criminal act?) Anyway, that was the deal, right? When we allow ourselves to be defined and labeled as right or left, conservative or liberal, have we not boxed ourselves in? Have we not limited our own opinions, beliefs, and our right to reach our own conclusions? And how many of us in an attempt to cement and secure our position as either right or left, sit quietly when we are exposed to ideas, plans and other constructs that do not resonate with us depending on our political leanings?
The election is over and no one is surprised or even excited about the outcome. We already knew Obama was the pre-selected winner regardless of how anyone supposedly voted. It is ironic that Republican voters are now feeling the anger that Democratic voters felt when they watched the 2000 and 2004 elections rigged for Bush the Dolt. Apparently, vote fraud is ok if you are on the right, but quite hard to endure when it comes from the left. No matter, walking into the voting booth was an exercise in futility…..we already knew Obama would get four more years. That was the plan and it was the plan all along and nothing, not even your votes, was going to change that. The scripted stage shows we call debates revealed nothing of any real interest to the public. The absolute silence from Romney on subjects such as:
The TSA molestation of travelers,
The coming UN Small Arms Treaty meant to by-pass the 2nd Amendment,
The LOST treaty which will cede all of our rights on the open seas,
The growing police state here in the US,
The unconstitutional NDAA,
Ending the Czars offices which were unlawfully created, and,
Not one hint of the mountain of executive orders, written not as president of the United States, but issued as Chief Executive of the corporation operating as “The USA, a.k.a. The United States of America”.

The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai Brith (ADL) has reared its head again in another attack on Press TV Iran and those who appear in that venue. This published projectile out of New York appears as the “ADL Report: Iranian Government’s Press TV Promotes Anti Semitism to Global Audience.”
It must be fairly noted that this latest broadside represents an actual improvement in methods employed by the American domestic wing of the Israeli Mossad intelligence organization. Patrick Clawson is the Director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP). He was an economist for the UN’s International Monetary Fund and the UN World Bank.
The Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) is a Washington, DC based think tank that was founded in 1985 by Martin Indyk. According to Wikipedia, Indyk started to set up a research department for the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a powerful pro-Israel lobbyist organization, but felt his research was not taken seriously because of his affiliation with AIPAC, so he created WINEP. WINEP has been criticized as being the fiercest enemies of Arabs and Muslims, and the most powerful propaganda tool in the US.
AIPAC received $64.6 million in funding in 2011: $46 million from undisclosed donors, $11.5 million from fundraising events and $6.6 million from related organizations. They had total assets worth $105 million in 2011.
In this undated video, Patrick Clawson says “crisis initiation” to go to war with Iran would be difficult, and that the traditional way that the US goes to war is for what would be best for US interests. Clawson then mentions other false flag events (covert operations designed to deceive) as examples of incidents that led the US into war (Pearl Harbor, the Lusitania, the Gulf of Tonkin episode, etc). He says “we ARE in the game of using covert means against the Iranians. We could get nastier at that.”
I contemplate my recent trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran and ask myself who wants war between America and Iran. I quickly surmise that it is not the American people, nor the Iranian people, but globalists (international bankers and their multinational beneficiaries). They control Israel, the American media and most of our politicians…and by extension our foreign policy.
My journey to this exotic and little understood land began with an invitation to “New Horizon – The First International Independent Filmmakers Festival”. It was a conference and festival held in Tehran from September 2nd through September 7th. Filmmakers and intellectuals from around the world attended. It was one of the most stimulating experiences that I have ever had and an effective bridge between diverse cultures and perspectives – with the purpose of promoting truth, justice, liberty, and peace.
This initiative was undertaken, not by America or other world leaders, but by a country unfairly besieged with sanctions and threats of war. My observations were in stark contrast to the perceptions of most Americans. What I experienced was a devout country with a love of God, family, and nation – and an uncompromising respect for the noblest of human endeavors.
As I write this, a giant, beautiful book, Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, lies next to me. Khayyam’s wonderful poems have survived the test of time and are a testament to the normally peaceful spirit of the Persian people. This treasure was given to me by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Unidentified gunmen attacked the Sinai Peninsula border of Egypt and Israel last Sunday. Sixteen Egyptian soldiers were killed; the attackers were stopped by Israeli fire. The crisis is forcing Egypt to set policy with Israel as the 1979 peace treaty has been compromised. Additionally, the struggle for power in Egypt’s new government is being tested.
Egypt’s military responded to the Sinai attack today by striking targets near the border to crackdown on Islamic extremists who are being blamed for the attack. The attack benefits Israel and Egypt’s military politicians, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF).
Egypt’s new president, Mohamed Mursi, was declared winner of the the election in June, but his actual power has been symbolic. He is an Islamist backed by the Muslim Brotherhood that is hostile to Israel. Further, Mursi has shown support for Palestinian authority.
Mursi was elected to replace the transitional military government, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), comprised of generals appointed by Mubarak. SCAF, initially perceived as the protector of the people, has a tarnished image because they have become very political and are involved in a power struggle to legislate, control the budget and determine all military action. The courts are a tool of SCAF.
SCAF claims that the Sinai gunmen were Islamic extremists and vowed to use force on the “jihadists” that have yet to be identified. Their counter strike has killed 20 people so far. More
We are being preconditioned for another war of aggression, this time against Iran. We are being systematically deceived into thinking that Iran is now out to get us. Maybe they are…now. Let me see, we have cut off major food supplies, put a wrench in their banking system and messed up their economy, and have positioned several of our warships in the Straights of Hormuz showing them that we are a clear and present danger to their continued existence. Announcements on cable news shows and subsequent statements by US officials claim that Israel is contemplating attacking Iran this spring some time. These statements are issued with a casualness of announcing a garden party. For some reason it is unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons, but quite alright for Israel to have more than 200 bunker buster mini nukes at their disposal provided to them by our government.
Three days after the initial announcement of this preplanned war of aggression in MSM venues, newspaper headlines across the country claimed “Iran planning attacks inside the US”. Personally, I believe that this is just advanced warning that future false flag attacks, perpetrated by the CIA on behalf of global interests will occur in the US. Of course, Iran will be blamed immediately, we’ll blow them off the map and ten years from now we’ll find out the whole thing was rigged and based on fictional events that never happened; at least not by the people we thought caused them. Don’t worry though. There will never be an honest investigation, no charges will ever be filed against those who really did attack us, and evidence will be destroyed faster than you can strike a match.
But we sold Israel those nukes and once the weapons were delivered, the stage was set.

While the Israeli government and military may now be in possession of nuclear weapons, it is the people of Israel who will pay the price if any of those weapons are used. The Israeli people have found themselves in the same position as Americans in the US; pawns, cannon fodder and totally expendable as far as their government is concerned. Like us, the Israeli people have no say, no control over their government or what it does.
I believe the only thing that will stop this is the unspoken threat that if Israel launches attacks on Iran, many other mid-eastern countries will join forces and move against Israel. And who will pay for that? The puppet masters behind the scenes that set all of this into motion? Or will it be the people of Israel and the populations of other mid-eastern countries that will be sacrificed to the global war machine that systematically raids and plunders one country after another, selling off the assets of those countries to global corporations which have a vested interest in the outcome.

I first published this article in May of 2010. Now, while many people are cheering the supposed death of BinLaden, it comes as no surprise that many others immediately began looking for holes in this story. It comes as even less of a surprise that they found them.
The staging of this affair over Bin Laden will no doubt be exposed eventually for the fabrication that I personally believe it is. The story of this adventure has changed so many times in the short period since it was supposed to have occured that even those who initially thought it was a fact have walked away in disgust realizing there is something wrong with this whole scenario.

Conspiracy theories: We learned how to construct them based on our governments historical and expert use of them.
I believe I first became aware of the unthinkable knowledge our own government would lie to us, when Kennedy was assassinated. And yes, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news.
Until I actually attempted to read the Warren Commissions report on the presidents murder, I had believed totally the story that the government had prepared for the public; a lone gunman with ties to Russia (blah, blah, blah). It was when I got to the portion of the report that detailed Arlen Specter’s “magic bullet” theory things began falling apart for me.
This so-called theory caused me to have an epiphany; the government had lied and has continued lying ever since not only about the Kennedy assassination, but damn near everything else you can think of where they insert themselves. But this particular moment, when I realized the Specter theory was a carefully fabricated lie was also the moment I realized that the government was not to be trusted. If they would lie to us about something so devastating to the country, so important to the morale and the soul of our country…..what else would they lie about?

The National Prayer Network’s Ted Pike painfully reminds us that the American “evangelical” community is once again supporting the crimes of the Zionist State of Israel against decent humanity. The quote in the title headline is from the video below featuring Huwaida Arraf, an American-born Christian woman of Palestinian heritage married to a Jew, Adam Shapiro, the head of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). Rachel Corrie was with the ISM when she was murdered. Ms. Arraf is talking about the Freedom Flotilla, a group of ships heading to Gaza to break the illegal Israeli blockade of Gaza’s shore. In addition, the Flotilla is not just carrying “humanitarian aid” – you know, shitty food that Jews occupying Palestine wouldn’t eat themselves, they are carrying construction materials so that Gaza can rebuild itself after the terrorist murderous Israeli invasion of Gaza about a year and a half ago. Your open letter raises more questions than it answers. On the one hand, you refer to “our valued correspondent, Mark Glenn.” On the other hand, you have accused Mr. Glenn of “Jew-baiting hysteria.” This is Orwellian doublespeak, par excellence.
I have regularly read Mr. Glenn’s AFP columns in recent years, even as their frequency in publication clearly diminished after Christopher Petherick left AFP and you assumed the role of Editor. Let me say for the record that his columns are insightful, accurate, and articulate, while hitting the nail on the head in regard to the Israeli Lobby, Israel’s actions in Palestine and Gaza, and the Zionist State’s role in utilizing the military of the United States as a surrogate military force in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
The utilization of the phrase “Jew-baiting hysteria” is not “subject to wide misunderstanding.” It clearly conveys the notion that Mr. Glenn is an irresponsible reporter operating from racial bias, bigotry, and malice. It is a most serious charge, and one that is patently false.
Rather than suggest that your characterization of Mark Glenn’s writings for AFP was misunderstood, why not simply admit that your clearly intended description of him and his work for your newspaper was a serious error and one worthy of a public apology?
After all, since in your own words, AFP is the only newspaper you know of that “promises–and does–correct every error,” why not begin with setting the record straight on a moral, journalistic, and political error on your part so egregious that it begs confession and expiation before the credibility of AFP–and its subscriber list–end up with a one-way ticket to Sheol?
And what does your libelous description of Mr. Glenn imply about two of your other correspondents, Victor Thorn and Michael Collins Piper, and their collaboration with Glenn on a new book on the USS Liberty being promoted by your newspaper? Are they too, flirting with “Jew-baiting hysteria?”

A new book, “Ship Without A Country” co-written by Mark Glenn and Victor Thorn of American Free Press Newspaper is finished and is off to the printers as we speak. It features interviews with over half a dozen of the survivors as they tell their harrowing tales of what took place that day as America’s only ‘ally’ in the region–the Jewish state–attacked the defenseless ship and murdered 34 of her sailors. One thing is abundantly clear about American policy in the Middle East–it is based on a series of paradoxical, internally contradictory goals and alliances which typically end in tragic results for friend and foe alike.
Nowhere is this conundrum clearer than in the present U. S. quandary over the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK), or People’s Holy Warriors, as chronicled by Ed Blanche, Beirut correspondent for The Middle East, in that publication’s June 2009 issue.
As Blanche capably summarizes what is known of the MEK, the organization was formed in Iran in 1965 by leftist students, subsequently adopting a “bizarre ideology that embraced by Islam and Marxism.” The ideology soon became linked to urban revolutionary guerrilla violence. In the final years of Pahlavi Iran, the MEK conducted a series of attacks and assassinations on American military and diplomatic personnel, as it sought the overthrow of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi.
The MEK joined forces with Khomeini’s revolutionaries in this ultimately successful effort, only to be expelled by the IRI regime itself in Tehran once its usefulness had expired after the Shah’s departure. The MEK began to conduct guerrilla operations against the Mullahs as they had against the monarchy previously, with considerable success. But the Mullahs applied a level of retaliatory force the “Islamic-Marxists” could not endure. Panarin’s thesis involves the same moral, political, and military analysis of the United States that I have proffered as an American paleoconservative. Even more ominously, the suggestion that 2010 is the year of prophetic fulfillment suggests that the good Russian professor has been reading Daniel’s account of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, or the Judean prophet’s proclamation of the end of Belshazzar’s reign and the Babylonian Empire.

The US House of Representatives has voted to endorse a resolution backing Israel in its offensive in Gaza, in which at least 900 Palestinians have been killed.
The body passed Friday’s resolution “recognizing Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza” by 390 votes to five.
The measure also noted that the humanitarian situation in Gaza “is becoming more acute” but did not rebuke Israel.
Keith Ellison, the only Muslim member of US congress, was among the 22 members of the House who voted “present”, which means that they voted neither in favour or against the resolution.
“I cannot vote against this resolution because I believe every country in the world has the right to defend itself,” the Minnesota congressman said in a statement.
“At the same time I cannot vote for this resolution because it barely mentions the human suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.”
Dennis Kucinich, a Democratic congressman for Ohio who voted against the bill said before the vote: “I’m hopeful that we do not support the inhumanity that has been repeatedly expressed by the Israeli army.”
“We must take a new direction in the Middle East, and that new direction must be mindful of the inhumane conditions in Gaza”.
US-Israel ties
Washington has been Israel’s closest ally since 1948, when Harry Truman, the former president, made the US the first country to recognize Israel.
The US has been repeatedly criticized by Arabs for its unstinting support of Israeli actions. The US frequently blocks United Nations resolutions critical of Israel and on Thursday abstained from a Security Council vote calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The House has passed similar measures in recent years by massive majorities.
In 2006, the House voted to condemn Hamas and Hezbollah for “unprovoked and reprehensible armed attacks against Israel” and supported Israel’s incursion into Lebanon.
In 2004, the body voted to support a statement by George Bush, the US president, that it was “unrealistic” to expect Israel to return completely to its pre-1967 borders.
The US senate had voted on Thursday to back its own resolution offering “unwavering commitment” to Israel.
That recognized “its right to act in self-defense to protect its citizens against acts of terrorism” and urged a ceasefire that would keep Palestinians from firing rockets at Israel.
Harry Reid, who leads the Democratic majority in the senate, said on Thursday following that vote: “Our resolution reflects the will of the state of Israel and the will of the American people.”
