“Burwell is not content with destroying only Medicare. According to Medscape, “Burwell also announced the creation of a Health Care Payment and Learning and Action Network”

In a critique of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) last October I 1723251_10152281254508606_304151171_nwrote: “Now comes news that three more of the original groups will jump ship, leaving only 19 of the original 32 still on board. A nearly 50 percent attrition rate should be seen as a death knell for the concept, as these were likely the best of the best, and the inducements most generous. Reasonable people would head back to the drawing board. But we are dealing with government bureaucrats, health policy wonks, and administrators. They will damn the torpedoes and push on at flank speed.”

And, as predicted, that is exactly what is happening. More

When President Obama hawks the wonders of the misnamed  Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, I’m reminded of those “As Seen on  TV” products.

True believers ridiculed critics of the Independent  Payment Advisory Board and its unchecked power to ration health care. They were  impressed by the $575 billion cut to Medicare, although lower payments lead  physicians to accept fewer Medicare patients. They cheered because 11 million  Americans will be added to the Medicaid rolls over the next ten years. While  Medicaid looks like is a good deal with its low co-pays, provider payments are  so low that only one-third of physicians accept new Medicaid  patients.

True believers scoffed at claims of loss of privacy.  After the NSA snooping revelations, a Pew survey revealed that 70 percent of  Americans believe the government is using data for purposes other than fighting  terrorism. Not only could unethical employees misuse health and financial  information, the health “Data Hub” can be shared among seven federal agencies  for ill-defined “routine uses.” According to a former HHS general counsel, the  federal government’s computer program for insurance exchanges lacks privacy  safeguards and could expose applicants to identity theft.

President Obama has repeatedly promised that “if you  like your health care plan, you can keep it.” Even his Praetorian Guard has now  defected. The National Treasury Employees Union—which represents the IRS folks  who are ultimately in charge of ObamaCare—does not want its members to be  “pushed out” of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the  insurance exchanges. They’re Poisoning US

Arnold Mann, the hard-driving, no-holds-barred investigative reporter who blew the lid off toxic mold in the late 1990s (TIME, USA WEEKEND), has just published a new book. It’s called “They’re Poisoning Us”-From the Gulf War to the Gulf of Mexico, An Investigative Report, and it’s a can’t-put-it-down, tell-all, that has unearthed many disturbing facts that confirm our worst suspicions about what THEY knew, when THEY knew it and what THEY did (or did not do) to save lives and property. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s mouth issued the following during an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

Well, you know, some people will do anything for the insurance companies,”

Pelosi said of Boehner in an echo of the bitter fight over the health care bill.”

Apparently her brain did not engage or she might have remembered this strange little fact from OpenSecrets.org:

The largest Industry contribution to Madame Speakers campaign in the 2009 – 2010 cycle came from the “Health” sector with  “Finance, Insurance and Real Estate” arriving a not so distant second.

Why not just return the donations raised by the evil “Lobbyist” from United Health Care last fall as the moral thing to do with the Health Care Bill before her?

Just as Speaker Nancy Pelosi begins to back away from the public option, the insurance industry holds a fundraiser for her. See David Sirota’s column republished at http://www.prosperityagenda.us/node/1775. Steve Elmendorf, a registered lobbyist for United Health, sent invitations to a Pelosi fundraiser at his home for this Thursday. The asking price: $5,000 for PACs and $2,400 per individual – the legal maximum for each.

Wonder where the Public Option went? I suppose “some people” will, well you know, do anything for the insurance companies.

MOU #3

Greetings:

Consider this a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to all members of the Senate, all members of the House, and to President Obama.  I am sure you are fully aware of the intent and implications of MOUs, as each of you, in one way or another, uses them to establish the outlining of agreements between yourselves, collectively or individually, concerning the agreements you have made with individuals acting as state’s representatives or agencies; generally to avoid Constitutional prohibitions on your intended actions and in avoidance of the Constitution.  I am using it in quite another fashion as you will see in the following text.

For you, MOUs are the terms and agreements of what, are in fact the first step in contractual agreements. MOUs are most often accompanied by cooperative agreements and funding (bribes) to implement what generally turns out to be egregious assaults to civil rights and liberties to the benefit of the federal government, linked so inextricably to corporate interests and global agreements.

Consider what follows a Memorandum of Understanding between me, Marti J. Oakley, and all of you, collectively cited in the above paragraph. More
