The proponents of H.R. 1599 are intentionally misrepresenting the facts about this bill and it’s your responsibility to tell your Senator that you believe food companies should be required by law to disclose GMOs, especially now that the World Health Organization and California have classified Monsanto’s glyphosate as a probable carcinogen.

At sustainablepulse.com, we have this May 14, 2014, article: “Chinese Army Bans All GMO Grains and Oil from Supply Stations”:

“The Chinese army has ordered all military supply stations to only allow the purchase of non-GMO grain and food oil due to health safety concerns over GMOs.

“This move by the Chinese army is being seen as yet another step towards the Chinese government’s expected ban on the import of all GMO grains and oilseeds within the next 2 years, due to growing public concern over GMOs. The expected ban would be a huge blow to the Biotech industry worldwide.

“The Hubei Province Xiangyang City Grain Bureau’s website announced on May 6, 2014:

“‘During recent years, as China’s grain and oil market has continuously developed, certain GMO grain and GMO food oil products have entered the market. In view that the safety concerns about GMO grain and oil products in China at present has not yet been determined, in order to overall assure the health of military members residing in our city and safety of their drinks and food, in accordance to the request from the Guangzhou Military Command Joint Logistics Department and the Provincial Military Grain & Food Oil Supply Center, from this date all military supply stations are allowed to only purchase non-GMO grain and food oil products from the designated processing enterprises. Or, why California’s Proposition 37 is important to the rest of the world

A landmark independent study by Canadian doctors published in the peer-reviewed journal Reproductive Toxicology this May found that toxins from soil bacterium that had been engineered into genetically modified (GM or GMO) Bt corn to kill pests was present in the bloodstream of 93 percent of pregnant women as well as in 80 percent of their fetal cord blood.
It was the first human clinical trial of genetically modified food; though humanity has been eating it for almost 16 years.
During the interim, manufacturers of GMOs refused to allow independent labs in the US to test their “patented seeds” to see if they posed a danger for consumption or whether or not they could cause cancer or trigger unknown or long-term health problems for adults; or harm fetuses, newborns, and children. . .unless researchers signed an agreement allowing the manufacturer to review and approve the results of the study.

European countries ran independent lab tests on animals fed GMOs anyway.
The results weren’t pretty

Rubber stamped by the FDA, GMO seed manufacturers and Big Agra began feeding Americans unlabeled GMO food during the 1990s.  Groundwork for this scheme was laid during the 1970s and continues to date.
Politically appointed personnel connected to the biotech industry were quietly placed at the FDA, USDA, and other key positions in Washington by elected shills slathered with campaign donations from the biotech industry and Monsanto—the world’s largest GM seed manufacturer—to facilitate the introduction of GMO food into the world.
GMOs were subsequently declared “. . .essentially equivalent to natural food . . .” or words to that effect . . . and Monsanto was given the green light to release its genetically modified seed into national and world food markets.
GMOs and their derivatives quickly found their way into 80-85% of what America ate.

With no labeling.

Thus America became Monsanto’s fiat lab for genetically modified food; their long-term clinical study. That’s why GMO-seed manufacturers quietly dumped the lion’s share of their toxic seeds into North America, Latin America, and India ; selling it to farmers as an agricultural Valhalla; “a green revolution”; knowing full well possible dangers could develop from the consumption of this food; all the while keeping the public beneath its toadstool.

It’s also why GMOs haven’t been labeled! in the United States. Other nations, once they realized the potential dangers of GM food, put labels on the food and Monsanto’s markets dried up because grocers refused to carry it when consumers refused to buy it.

With the recent decision to temporarily hold off on GM Salmon production, I thought it might be time again to visit the GM Minutia from around the globe.

Attention Monsanto : You may save the fraction of several hundred thousand dollars paid to Blackwater, now known as Xe, that might be wasted by “monitoring activities”  here at The PPJ Gazette’s. One understands that the corporation is attempting to find the keywords, taglines and tricky phrases used to identify those of us who find the production of GMO’s offensive to nature and mankind – there – saved you a few bucks.

As human beings, we’re the only species stupid enough to actually poison ourselves. As part of modern living, we create a wide variety of chemical toxins that go into the ecosystem through rivers and streams, the air, the soil and so on.

 MSG — is one thing we humans are very fond of adding to our foods. Monosodium glutamate is a widely used food additive. It is the sodium salt of glutamic acid. MSG is a form of glutamate, a carefully regulated neurotransmitter. This food additive is produced by fermenting sugar beet molasses, and the overly processed form is a fine white crystal that resembles salt or sugar.

MSG doesn’t really have a taste of its own but is used to enhance the flavor of other ingredients. It is put in nearly every canned, packaged, or otherwise processed food out on the market. MSG fools the brain into thinking that something tastes better than it actually does, so it may be used in place of quality ingredients. We humans love that snack aisle.

Even though the Food and Drug Administration has received many anecdotal reports of adverse reactions to foods containing MSG over the years, they still classify MSG as an ingredient that is “generally recognized as safe”. Some common symptoms include headaches, sweating, flushing, weakness, nausea, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, facial tightness and tingling and burning of the face or neck. To we humans these symptoms mean we are eating right well.

MSG is an excitotoxin which means that it reacts with certain specialized receptors in the brain in such a way as to lead to destruction of certain types of brain cells. With above normal levels the neurons begin to fire abnormally. At higher concentrations, the cells undergo a specialized process of cell death. There is a special gate-keeper that protects the brain from most harmful substances in the blood, called the blood-brain barrier. With high consumption of MSG, the free glutamate in the blood can gradually seep into the brain and wreak havoc. More
