Milk recall: Is your milk on this recall list?

  • And they want us to believe fresh raw milk is dangerous!

Midland Farms has announced a voluntary milk recall affecting these three brands as well as a fourth one, Corrado’s Market. The recalled milk has a “sell by” date of Sept. 24 and was sold in five northeastern states.

The failure of a pasteurization equipment at a milk plant in Menards, N.Y., has led to a voluntary milk recall in five northeastern states.

Consumers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island should check their milk cartons to see if they’ve been recalled, according to New York State’s agriculture department.

____________________________________________________________

The fight to maintain control of our food production and supply must begin in the states.  Your governor, according to this bill, will appoint the agency that will contract with USDA/FDA for access to your state.  It is your governor who will make this federal theft of domestic agriculture possible; and it is your governor who must be pressured to refuse to negotiate with corporate federal agencies.  The betrayal of America’s farmers and ranchers will begin with each state governor granting corporate federal agencies access to your state and will be enforced by state agencies under the color of law.  These agents will be your friends, neighbors and maybe even family members who will put on an agency badge and suddenly forget the Constitution and individual rights.

For years multi-national corporations have raided and plundered third-world countries, stealing land, raping the environment and causing the starvation and abject misery of untold millions of people.   The efforts to steal farmland, to grow gmo crops for biofuels while human beings starved next to fields full of grain, is nothing new.  The world wide efforts to seize control of the world’s food supply, dictating what people would eat and if they would eat, is coming full circle. The US along with Canada is now about to fall victim to the absolute takeover of food production and supply in both counties, by corporations who have orchestrated the greatest theft ever perpetrated.   They could not have done it without the corruption of career politicians who sold their integrity, honor and office for corporate favors and campaign donations, increasing their own personal wealth along the way, and selling out the very people they swore to represent.

We are about to see congress come back into session; never have we as a country been in such danger from our own government.  Democrat or Republican, we have no support within our own congress.

Below is a break down of S.510.  As pages 1 thru 104 were struck, the provisions contained in those pages were written into broad and vague language, open to interpretation and abuse by corporate federal agencies.  This was intentional.  What was taken out in one place was inserted elsewhere under ambiguous language.  What remains as a “bill” is the actual assault on domestic agriculture hidden behind euphemistic terms such as “food safety”, “food security” and other deceptive language meant to deceive the reader into thinking the safety of food in this country was at risk from family and independent producers.

Here are just some of the highlights of S.510.  There have been several versions of this bill, so for expediency, we have simply listed the sections by number.  More

Feb 5th,(c) 2010

Hello WICFA Friends and Members,

We have completed the revision of our statement of opposition to the “Raw Milk Bill”, SB 434 and AB 628. Please read it through and give careful consideration to the points that are raised. You can find a link to the bills on our raw milk page to read them for yourself. The opposition statement is attached to this email and is available on the website as well.

If you agree that we should not take whatever can be achieved instead of standing firm and holding out for a bill that is beneficial to all raw milk producers, no matter what the size of their operation, then print off some copies of our opposition statement and distribute them to friends, family, and your neighbors.

We must let our representatives in Madison hear from us as well. Please contact your assembly person and senator to let them know that they should not vote in favor of the “Raw Milk Bill”. We need to make sure that our voices are heard.

Do not let our food choices be regulated by DATCP and corporate interest.

Ont. farmer toasts victory in raw milk trial with glass of the contentious drink

Canada/Yahoo News       Thu Jan 21, 6:55 PM

By Ciara Byrne, The Canadian Press

NEWMARKET, Ont. – Clutching a glass of raw milk, an emotional Michael Schmidt toasted what he called a victory for the local food movement Thursday after the Ontario dairy farmer was found not guilty of 19 charges related to selling unpasteurized milk.

“People need to learn how to stand up even when it seems it’s impossible to achieve change in our interpretation of the law,” said Schmidt, who was often depicted by supporters as the small farmer fighting for consumer food rights against an established milk industry.

In a legal battle that played out over three years, Schmidt fought to continue the operation of his 150-member raw milk co-operative in Durham, Ont., and defended himself against the charges for dispensing milk straight from the cow.

Schmidt was charged under the Health Protection and Promotion Act and the Milk Act after an armed raid by about two dozen officers and government officials at his farm in 2006. More

Scott Trautman says enough: Chaining himself to WI Governor’s mansion, food & water strike 4pm Christmas Eve

Hello everyone,

This was not what I intended to do this Christmas. This is not making my family, my wife, three young children, happy one tiny bit.
But the evil in Wisconsin is so great, the intensity of pressure on our farm so massive, I am left with no other option.
Cheryl Daniels and Jackie Owens of Rod Nuelstein’s DATCP, Department of Ag Trade & Consumer Protection, Food Safety division, has attempted to torment us over the past two months, trying to make me shut up about the illegality, the scandal, the misuse of power up there. Their plan is to intimidate, and they have succeeded in removing, unjustly, our last ability to make a living: our meat licenses. Which of course I am welcome to appeal: To Rod Nuelstein. How do you think that’s going to go? When do you think he’ll make time for that? That is but one indication of how out of wack – out of control — non-democratic – that agency is. The meat licenses have nothing to do with their Raw Milk case. There is but one purpose: shut Scott Trautman up. Their arrogance is incredible.

Our media has a limited attention span, which Rod understands, and has used: to sound great in the word, but no one follows up to see just what he does.
Perhaps a farmer chaining himself to the governor’s MANSION and refusing all food and water will be enough of a “media event” to bring the proper light to this situation.

I am not asking anyone to join me at this time, I do not desire to ruin the holidays of good people everywhere — but I will be ‘on the wall’ for as long as it takes.

See my posting for further details, look back – way back – to all my blog postings, way back to the beginning, and see my character vs. Rod Nuelstein’s.
I am ashamed of our Governor, Doyle, whom I was under the illusion was a friend to the people of Wisconsin. Turns out he’s just another scumbag politician.

Please pray for me and my family. We WILL endure, we WILL see a bright future for Wisconsin, we WILL have our New Golden Age of Dairy in Wisconsin.

Two years ago, Californians stood up and fought back against government collusion with coporate interests and fought back against a bill meant to end fresh/raw milk sales.
On October 8, 2007 AB 1735 was signed into law in California. This law did nothing to protect anyone, as it purported, but did everything to limit the rights of consumers in California. Had it been allowed to stand, raw milk would have dried up as of January 1, 2008. An emergency bill was written as a response and on January 16, 2008, Assemblymembers Nicole Parra (D), Mike Villines (R), and Tom Berryhill (R) demanded AB 1735 be changed by enacting AB 1604. Raw milk supporters turned out in droves and in a few short hours, democracy prevailed and raw milk drinkers and producers were protected. The following video shows history in the making.” More

Springfield, Missouri
By: Kathy Vimont

My family produces raw milk in southwest Missouri. I am responding to Douglas Bryan’s letter of Dec. 9 regarding the safety of raw milk.

Dr. Bryan quoted an explanation from Cornell about why pasteurization has been made mandatory for retail sales, but he doesn’t know the rest of the story. About 100 years ago, large amounts of milk were needed to feed people in the large cities. They also needed an answer about what to do with the distillery grain left over from making alcohol there. Answer: feed it to cows and use the resulting milk to feed the people. They should not have been drinking that milk.

It was produced in filthy conditions by very unhealthy animals and caused many deaths. Their only answer was to pasteurize the milk, and that’s how pasteurization on a large scale became entrenched. But, here’s the really interesting part: at that same time, Dr. J.R. Crewe of the Mayo Clinic was bringing in clean raw milk from the countryside and curing patients of cancer and other dread diseases with a strict raw milk diet. For more on this story and a critical analysis of milk safety studies, I refer you to “The Untold Story of Milk” by Dr. Ron Schmid.  Go to: http://www.realmilk.com/documents/ResponsetoMarlerListofStudies.pdf

for a balancing article on the safety of raw milk.

Considering modern advancements, the belief that we must pasteurize or die is outdated. Besides, we’re not talking about producing raw milk for the entire population; we’re talking about small family farms thriving and supporting our local economies. Buying milk from neighbors is a long-standing tradition in Missouri, one with which the legislature refused to interfere. READ MORE

The Truth behind the drive to outlaw raw/fresh milk sales or:

How the USDA and the federal government are actively working to end family and independent dairy farming for corporate interests.

 The BUSINESS OF CULLEN AGRITECH:

 Business Overview– Pg. 6

Cullen Agritech is a newly formed company formed in June 2009 committed to the development and commercialization of advanced agricultural technologies. Cullen Agritech’s principal focus will be to improve agricultural yields through pasture and animal sciences. Cullen Agritech’s primary operations will be conducted through Natural Dairy Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cullen Agritech, through which it will attempt to engage in a long term scalable dairy farming operation utilizing the Cullen Agritech farming system in the Southeastern United States. Cullen Agritech will also offer advisory services associated with the development and implementation of efficient farming techniques. This will promote a methodology that incorporates components of New Zealand’s pasture-based farming system, scientifically adapted for use in local markets.” (end clip)

The new technology being promoted by Cullen- New Zealand is simply what farmers have done for thousands of years; the moving of their livestock routinely to fresh pastures making sure ample water was made available to them and incidentally; reducing the number and amount of toxic chemicals, vaccines, hormones and additives required to be used in private operations.  While there certainly is a scientific soundness to this practice, it most assuredly is nothing new. So where would the “scientific” application of what is commonly understood to be the best management practices of dairy herding, be applied?  And how?  And how could you rationalize the re-designation of traditional dairy farming methods as something new and innovative and apply for and receive a patent on that method? One cannot see it, smell it or feel it. In fact E. Coli wasn’t even found on the Dungeness Valley Creamery in Sequim, Washington, but that didn’t stop the Washington State Department of Health from issuing this misleading statement  :

“Three recent E. coli infections in Washington have been linked to drinking raw, unpasteurized milk. As a result, the Washington state departments of Health and Agriculture are reminding consumers of the potential health hazards of these products.

The patients all report drinking raw milk produced by the Dungeness Valley Creamery in Sequim. No E. coli has been found in samples from the dairy’s current batch of milk, but during an investigation at the dairy, WSDA found the same bacteria that caused one of the illnesses.” More

“South Dakota Raw Milk Producers vs Big Government State of South Dakota Initiates “Pogrom” Of Economic Genocide Against Small Farm Raw Milk Producers

By Richard Boyden

Small farm raw milk producers are being targeted by the state of South Dakota for criminal prosecution, incarceration, and destruction of their businesses if they do not cease to produce and market raw milk according to the “new rule” proposals being presented for implementation by the Dairy Division of the State of South Dakota. What is shared below is a short overview the oppressive format the state of South Dakota is preparing for small farm raw milk producers.

I decided to write this commentary after the deadline set by the State of South Dakota was past for receiving letters of support for raw milk small farm producers who are being targeted with “rule changes” and “laws” that are formulated to put them out of business. Why? For three reasons.

One. When the “raw milk” hearing was held in Pierre on November 17, there was only a ten day window given to file complaints and 10 days is not enough time for the supporters of raw milk, the small farm producers of, and those who chose to drink raw milk to even begin to get the word out state wide let alone nation wide. Not only that, the timing of the hearing was deliberately set to fall on the Thanksgiving Holiday week so as to make it extremely difficult for support to garnered.

Two. I wanted the rest of America and the world to know exactly what the hidden agenda of the State of South Dakota really is, and what it is proposing to do to raw milk producers and how this will affect those citizens who prefer raw milk over pasteurized.

Three. To expose who is really behind this criminal pogrom and how it affects our constitutional rights as American citizens.

I call this proposed new law targeting raw milk producers a pogrom. If you are familiar with the history of Stalinist Russia, then you will see parallels found in this definition with what the Agricultural Department of the state of South Dakota is proposing to do to small farm producers of raw milk in the name of “health and safety”….” Read More at the BOVINE

“The actions of state agencies complicit with state elected officials, shows malice and forethought with the intent to benefit not only the state monetarily, but also specific corporations who also intend to benefit from the prosecutions.  It is not as if they didn’t or don’t know what they are doing.  This was planned and pre-meditated, and state officials and agencies in collusion with the USDA and corporate profiteers knew full well the harm they intended to inflict on the private property owners of the state and that these actions would drive many farmers and ranchers off their land and out of business. “

It seems rather apparent with the extensive abuses of agency offices and personnel supported and encouraged by elected officials, even if only by their silence; their refusal to act on behalf of the citizens, and their obvious disregard for property and individual rights, maybe Wisconsin needs to clean house.

The oath of office taken by your elected government officials is a contract affirmed by oath.  Under contract law, that oath has been breached by the various compacts, contracts, and entry into agreements, business plans and other instruments which are intended to cause harm to the citizens of the state of Wisconsin and the contract is now voided.  Boot them out of office.

About the Selling of Fresh Milk

The recent offering of what is supposed to pass for a proposed bill to protect the right of Wisconsin dairy farms from further prosecution and persecution by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and Consumer Protection (DATCP) would have been comical had it not been presented as a means to allow dairy farmers to trade freely what is known to be a wholesome and natural product: fresh milk.

The fact is, even if this limited proposal (as questionable as it is) had any legitimacy, it falls far short of what is desperately needed to reign in the activities of DATCP: an agency which has far exceeded any lawful or constitutional boundaries; yet not one state legislator has acknowledged the egregious activities this agency is engaged in against the sovereign citizens of the state.  In fact, it was state and federal legislators who entered into cooperative agreements with the USDA, accepting millions on behalf of the state to implement USDA business plans that clearly violated not only state, but federal constitutions.  More

The proposed draft is inadequate in addressing the concerns of fresh milk producers throughout the state, and does not fall within the mission statement of this organization.

The proposed draft states no author, and is applicable to Grade A dairies only, a license that requires a contract with a milk processor as a predetermining factor, this forced contract is a violation of Federal Uniform Commercial Code as it manifests as coercion.

Furthermore some milk processing companies require exclusive contracts from their producers in direct violation of the Sherman Anti Trust Act.

The hundreds of small herd owners concerns are not addressed in any fashion in this proposal.

This proposal forwarded by an inclusive group known to advocate to the members not speaking to the press, not contacting anyone beyond their legislative area, not sharing information outside the group, in an effort to deny First Amendment freedoms.

These freedoms were bought with blood, and we will not dishonor those who have given their all to procure and defend them.

Further directives were issued to not have out of state individuals involved, and yet an out of state organization’s officials have been contacting legislators and DATCP officials  without having registered as lobbyists in this state as required for anyone reimbursed by an organization in an amount of $500 or more.  Those officials contacted have a burden as well to report these contacts and are complicit in this act.

Such is the murk and quagmire of politics in Madison.

Therefore the Wisconsin Independent Consumers and Farmers Assn. in an

effort to hold to a higher standard will be opposing the raw milk proposed

draft in its present form.

JACKASS ALERT # 9   EDITED WITH SOME REALLY IMPORTANT NEWS!

I just received an alert from what has become a somewhat infamous national organization; infamous for its lack of, well, almost anything that would matter.   It is another of their “Action Alert!’s.  (Oh!  I’m so excited!)

Update:!!

Senator Kreitlow and Representative Danou

Co-Sponsorship of LRB 3242/3-Allowing the Sale of Raw Milk

“We are introducing legislation that would permit the sale of raw milk directly from Wisconsin farms in certain controlled conditions

I cannot believe these public officials attached their names to this.  As written or lifted from some old document…….this would effectively drive a large number of small producers out of business as a minimum requirement of 60 dairy cows would be necessary to engage in fresh milk sales to one of only three buyers who have cornered that market. (With a little help from their friends)

In any event if this bogus “proposal” that is being promoted as a possible draft of a bill were in fact a reality, it would be laughed out of the legislature.  This “proposal” is not properly prepared and is simply a cleaned up version of the same thing posted to several sites after the last call to sit down and shut up went out on the March 11, 2009 to stifle any meaningful protest of DATCP unconstitutional actions and policies.

2009 BILL……is not a title.  (we don’t know what it is: maybe you will be receiving a statement in the mail)

Your Wisconsin legislative period will end in May.  This “proposal” is not properly formatted, titled, or showing any basis in law.  Nor is it showing any author or who might possibly be promoting it.  No legislator will even consider it in this form; at least not one who is on the level. (It just goes to show ya! Two just popped up!)

This “proposal” mysteriously appeared out of no where and is floating somewhere in the legislature with two new sponsors, no bill number and no one looked at this and realized it was worthless?  And it occurs to me I saw this same thing about five or six years ago somewhere else. I’ll have to look into that.

Maybe someone might have been better off to look into the Sherman Act dealing with anti-trust.  Monopolies are illegal.  So are monopsony’s. More

 WE WILL BE THERE.

I am offering my services as a speaker for the Constitution Party and to spread the word of what is happening to our freedoms.  These are the matters that I am running for; to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States, and the Wisconsin state constitution, from all enemies …Foreign AND Domestic!

I am sending out letters of support to every one I know in the state.  We have to let people know what our socialist government is doing and HAS been doing for a long time.

This isn’t the work of just one of the parties but of both of them.  It’s all about power and greed. Our so called representatives get that by helping the friends in the BIG-FARM industry.  We know where the campaign funds come from.

To quote :

“Raw milk is not inherently dangerous, as DATCP, the FDA and Big Ag would like you to believe.  But, as with all foods, it’s how it’s produced that matters. We little guys pasture our animals, feed and treat them organically, and many of us use no grains.  The Big Guys can’t do that.  They confine their animals, pump them full of hormones and antibiotics, and feed them garbage – literally, like bakery waste and distillers grains (the stuff left over after producing alcohol or ethanol).  That milk IS dangerous.  Our isn’t.  But as you can guess, it’s about control and monopolization.”

I consider this to be the real problem in our health care today; processed foods devoid of nutrition and filled with toxins resulting from industrialized corporate farming.

I am also mobilizing support for Pat and Melissa Monchilovich of Cumberland, WI.  This too is wrong and is in direct violation of the state of Wisconsin Constitution, guaranteeing allodial property rights i.e., [absolute ownership.  Not bound to render service to any other body or person.]

Premises ID is a contract conveying a change of title of ownership to the USDA acting as agent for the federal government.  It is a contractual surrendering and abandonment of private property and the allodial property rights of the sovereign individual. A report on their case is found here.

I am putting up on my website a petition that people can fill out, so we

can present it in Max’s and the Monchilovichs’ cases.  Please look for it

It will be there before 12 noon CST today 11/21/09. Please direct people

you know to it.

thumbnailCA9AIVSBIt would appear earlier this year Rep. Ron Paul (R) Texas, introduced this simple bill into the record of the House.  Here we are in Mid-November, eleven months later……and not one co-sponsor or any action has been taken on this bill.  It is sitting idle in committee.

While this bill lies unaddressed, northeastern dairy producers and northern plain’s states producers are under attack by hostile corporate raiders with what would appear to be the full compliance and facilitation of state and federal legislators, along with unlawfully empowered unelected bureaucracies which operate as the enforcement agencies for corporate interests

I find it more than odd that not ONE legislator at the federal level in those states where private and independent dairy operations are under attack from instate agencies, has lent their prestigious names to this appeal for consumer choice, evidently opting instead to allow this assault on individual rights and freedom.

Corruption of government is never more apparent than when corporate pirates and raiders are invited to the table while the average citizen who will be adversely affected are kept out of the room.

Of all the bills scheduled for the November 18, 2009 Fake food Safety mark-up…….this bill is not included for debate.  Go figure.   _______________________________________
