America’s Homeless Middle Class

How Poor People Survive in the USA

DW (2019)

Film Review

This documentary is about homeless members of middle class America whose wages are too low to cover rent. Filmmakers visit San Diego, Los Angeles, Richmond Virginia, Appalachia and Waco Texas.

In San Diego they film a parking lot in which thirty people working as Uber drivers, security guards, secretaries, cleaners, carers and computer technicians sleep in their cars overnight. A charity provides them with portapotties, a water point, and an open air kitchen facility. One of the carers who sleeps there works nine hour days seven days a week.

In Los Angeles, which filmmakers refer to as the homeless capitol of the US (with 59,000 homeless), the documentary profiles a full time volunteer who builds wooden tiny houses (which have been legally banned by the city council) for people currently living tents.

In Richmond, filmmakers follow local sheriffs carrying out an eviction at gunpoint. They also visit one of the budget motels that have sprung up in the Richmond outskirts due to the city’s high number of evictions.*

In Appalachia, they visit one of the poorest counties in the nation, where volunteers run a daily food truck to distribute food to the area’s children. They also profile a military-style field hospital that provides once-a-year medical and dental treatment for the uninsured. The field hospital, held on a local sports field, is funded by a national charity and staffed by volunteer health providers.

In Waco, the filmmakers visit a church program that recruits candidates from all over the US to pay 60 dollars to experience sleeping rough first hand.

*In Virginia, a landlord can legally evict a tenant once their rent is five days past due. More

USDA Makes GMOs Disappear

It’s official: the “mandatory” GMO labeling rule will obscure more than it makes transparent. Action Alert!

The USDA has released its final GMO labeling rule, and it’s not good. As we feared when the agency released its proposal earlier this year, the so-called GMO labeling law will apply only to a narrow set of foods. Congress and the USDA have offered a number of loopholes and exemptions to food companies, undermining any semblance of a consumer’s right to know. It’s as if the USDA asked the food industry to write the rule themselves.

The problems start right at the foundation. The agency has decided to use the term “bioengineered”—a term many Americans may not be familiar with—rather than GMO. When the proposal was released, we pointed out that this is straight out of an Orwellian playbook. Many Americans know the term “GMO” and can connect it to the labeling debate—so the government decides to use a different term that sounds more innocuous. If the government was actually concerned with communicating information clearly to consumers, they would simply use the term “GMO” and not other terminology with which Americans may not be familiar.

The problems continue with the definition of “bioengineered.” The final rule defines bioengineered as a food that 1) contains genetic material that has been modified through in vitro recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) techniques and 2) for which the modification could not otherwise be obtained through conventional breeding or found in nature”—essentially, combining DNA from two different sources, usually two different organisms.

Food Crisis In The Making: Farm Bankruptcies Reach Horrifying Levels

By Mac Slavo

We are amidst a food crisis.  Farms in the United States Midwest are filing for chapter 12 bankruptcy at an alarming rate.  And many are saying president Donald Trump’s trade war is taking the most blame.

We hate to say we told you so, but we told you so. The trade war was a bad idea and everyday average Americans are footing the bill for this asinine policy of tariffs.  Now, the food supply could be in jeopardy because of political posturing and that will not bode well for already cash-strapped American families.

A total of 84 farms in the upper Midwest filed for bankruptcy between July 2017 and June 2018, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. That’s more than double the number of Chapter 12 filings during the same period in 2013 and 2014 in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana, reported Vox.

Farms that produce corn, soybeans, milk, and beef were all suffering due to low global demand and low prices before the trade war, according to economists, but president Trump’s trade war is making the problem even worse by exacerbating the weaknesses in the American economy. China has retaliated against the tariffs by slapping billions of dollars worth of tariffs on United States agriculture exports in response to Trump’s tariffs on Chinese products. Other countries, including Canada, have also added duties to US agriculture products in response to Trump’s tariffs on all imported steel and aluminum.

U.S: Hormone-Disrupting Weed Killer Taints Tap Water for Millions in Corn Belt

Environmental Working Group (EWG) | November 14, 2018

WASHINGTON – Seasonal spikes of atrazine – a weed killer that can disrupt hormones and harm developing fetuses – contaminate drinking water in corn-growing areas of the Midwest and beyond, according to an analysis of federal records by the Environmental Working Group.

Environmental Protection Agency data show that in some Corn Belt communities, atrazine levels can spike three to seven times above the legal limit in late spring and early summer. But by avoiding water testing during peak periods, some water utilities stay in compliance with drinking water regulations – and don’t have to tell customers they were exposed to a hazardous chemical in their tap water.

“Our investigation found that nearly 30 million Americans have atrazine in their tap water,” said Olga Naidenko, Ph.D., EWG senior science advisor for children’s environmental health. “But many may never know, because outdated federal policies allow utilities to test for atrazine before or after the spike.”  READ MORE HERE

The Geoengineering End Game

Source:  Activist Post

By Ethan Jacobs, J.D.

Years of research have revealed that the purpose of ongoing international geoengineering operations is to control the weather to create droughts and artificial scarcity of water and food (planned “problem”).  From the resulting global crisis, chaos and fear (planned “reaction”) of people not having adequate water and food due to “climate change,” a totalitarian world government (planned “solution”) will be perpetrated under the veil of “sustainable development” (See United Nations’ Agenda 21 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development).  Speaking of year 2030:

According to UN-endorsed projections, global demand for fresh water will exceed supply by 40% in 2030, thanks to a combination of climate change, human action and population growth.

The secondary purpose of chemtrails is to make the population sick by causing individuals to ingesting toxins such as aluminum and possibly viruses.

The Geoengineered Cape Town Drought

The Geoengineered Cape Town Drought is a test-run, a preview of what the rest of us can expect in the coming years.

Day Zero is looming for Cape Town.  According to the latest estimates May 11th is when the city’s water supply will be turned off, leaving four million residents to line up for water rations at one of 200 points across the city.

Cape Town is in the middle of an unprecedented drought and rainfall has been far below expected levels for the past three years. Residents are being asked to limit use to 50 liters a day (13.2 gallons), which is less than a third of the average daily water use in Britain.

In 2013, farmers in South Africa contacted Geoengineeringwatch.com and reported that geoengineering was decimating their land, stating:

Our air is acrid and dry and my crops have failed. My animals are on their last legs. We are being forced to take out loans via the Landbank, thus enslaving us and also forcing us to buy GMO seeds. The North West has been declared a Disaster Area.

NASA satellite images and videos posted by concerned individuals also confirm that South Africa is a target of intense geoengineering.

Without any mention of geoengineering, National Geographic states that “climate change” may have exacerbated Cape Town’s drought and warns that much of the world is at risk of a similar situation.  Mexico City, Melbourne, Jakarta, Sao Paulo, and California are listed as potential water shortage victims of “climate change.”

Austrailia: Banks to use NLIS to spy on cattle producers

Attachment(1)

Memo: Many of you joined together to oppose the USDA’s NAIS ploy. Prior to our USA battle with the federales the Australians  were fighting the same battle, but they lost the war bigger and faster than the US sisters.  The Australian government has always been the “view into the future” for us.  Their NAIS is NLIS – National Livestock Identification Scheme.  With hearings and political battles USDA realized that over 90% of livestock owners refused to sign up for NAIS so they threw up their hands and said — we give up — NAIS is dead, ended, over.  Yet, as most expected, it raised an ugly finger in the air and now we  have ADT.  ADT is following the same path as NAIS and NLIS, but  slower, one state at a time.  Texas, of all states is leading  the charge in animal ID compliances, testing, and enforcements.

The fight is still on. Our unfriendly-bureaucratic-predator government is adding the control rules one at a time, one state  at a time — hammering away toward NAIS.  It now is still federal, working under the radar as quasi state rules.

Notice the Australian cattlemen’s plea (article below) to be free again from the ignorance of NLIS.  Once in the  government’s claws, seldom do they release the prey. Darol

ABA Press Release

Banks to use NLIS to spy on cattle producers – ABA calls on Minister Joyce to intervene.

Meat and Livestock Australia has admitted it has commissioned consultants to develop a system that allows financial institutions to automatically access producers’, lot feeders’ and processors’ NLIS accounts to monitor livestock transactions.

The admission was made to former Australian Beef Association Director, John Carter.

It would seem MLA/NLIS is seeking to develop a user-pay system that automatically notifies a financial institution when stock are moved onto or off an NLIS Account/PIC – for purchase, sale or slaughter. Prospective users of the service are banks, stock and station agencies and any other party, such as an investor, prepared to pay for the service.

“This is an outrageous abuse of trust by MLA,” Australian Beef Association Director Brad Bellinger said.

“NLIS was imposed on cattle producers on the understanding it was needed for market access and bio-security. More

Monsanto receives gift from the Senate & House

getimage1Jackass Alert!

The overtaking of several sectors of the federal government by private corporations who routinely use congress and the president to codify their unlawful activity to expand their monopolies has just received a huge gift package from those fine jackasses in the District of Criminals. Monsanto just received a payoff on its massive funding of campaign contributions on both sides of the isle, having the favor returned in the form of a free pass on any kind of control or any kind of judicial penalty on their collective species of invasive seeds.

The Continuing Resolution (CR) which has been pitched as a crisis bill because otherwise the world wouldfarmer3_dees come to an end, included a so-called sneak attack by Monsanto that would give it a free pass. The Monsanto Rider avoids USDA controls and eliminates any judicial system interference. Obviously unconstitutional, the rider violates the right to due process by those harmed by this corporation and establishes a clear pattern of collusion against the public at large.  No one actually wants Monsanto’s products and the grassroots resistance to these toxic crops has been non-stop.  Both houses of congress of course ignored the public backlash as they voted on a full scale corporate hiney hugging love fest.

Through a carefully constructed system of market manipulations, predatory practices, and with the complete cooperation of the USDA and the courts, Monsanto has relentlessly worked to end any farming endeavors that have not been consumed by their market monopoly.  It also helped out immensely that Michael Taylor, alleged former attorney for Monsanto was somehow appointed to the newly created and unconstitutional office of “Food Czar” right inside the White House!  I cannot help but wonder what input he may have had in this rotten deal.

The actual intent of this rider was to relieve congress, the courts and federal agencies such as the USDA, from having to publicly expose themselves as bought and paid for.  This rider actually serves to relieve them of having to expose themselves to any scrutiny or to require them to take any position arbitrary to Monsanto that might cause the  money train to run off the rails. Red Alert: The Great Collapse & How Banks Will Own You

Red Alert: The Great Collapse & How Banks Will Own You

The mainstream media is reporting that banks are preparing for collapse by preparing “recovery plans” and have been advised that they may not rely on government help.

Last week a court ruled that a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) that trades in commodities was allowed to use “customer segregated funds” as collateral and to pay its debt. This ruling sets a precedent for greedy bankers and traders to get off scot-free while using customer money for collateral and paying debt, just like the MF Global case that is unfolding. Ann Barhardt warns that all financial institutions like banks, insurance companies, pension funds, retirement accounts, etc. are vulnerable to this type of plunder because the precedent has been set and they will take advantage of it.

In addition, she warns that people will panic when their accounts are raided and demand that the government and the FDIC cover their losses. The only way that people can be repaid is to print more money, resulting in massive inflation, which will lead to total collapse. Your property is now subject to total theft by bankers. She urges people to get out of all markets and take physical possession of all money.

Check out Ann’s disturbing video:

Mac Slavo’s SHTFplan.com article reprinted below is an excellent guide to prepare for collapse:

What Is Money When the System Collapses?

What is money?

Economist Mike Shedlock defines money through the eyes of Austrian economist Murray N. Rothbard as “a commodity used as a medium of exchange.”

“Like all commodities, it has an existing stock, it faces demands by people to buy and hold it. Like all commodities, its price in terms of other goods is determined by the interaction of its total supply, or stock, and the total demand by people to buy and hold it. People buy money by selling their goods and services for it, just as they sell money when they buy goods and services.”

What is money when the system collapses and the SHTF?

In disaster situations, the value of money as we know it now changes, especially if we are dealing with a hyperinflationary collapse of the system’s core currency. This article discusses money as a commodity in an event where the traditional currency (US Dollar) is no longer valuable.

In a collapse of the system, there will be multiple phases, with the first phase being the “crunch”, as discussed in James Rawles‘ book Patriots. The crunch is the period of time directly preceding a collapse and the collapse itself. More

No one would have believed that the Russian government would have intentionally starved an estimated 10 million Ukrainian people to death, but the fact is …from 1932-33 they did.  During the Holodomor people became so ravenous, some inevitably turned to cannibalism. The Russian government accomplished this mass starvation by seizing control of all food production and forcing everyone to work for collective farms.  Farmers and ranchers were forced to give up their land and livestock to the state and were not allowed to consume any of the food they produced; all of it was held in government owned silo’s and terminals.  All of it sold for export to other countries and the money used to finance wars.

This was genocide on a massive scale. It was a genocide intended to take land and farming away from the people and convert it all to state (corporate) control. It was estimated that 80% of the Ukrainian population were farmers.  As the millions died, other ethnic groups were brought in to replace the Ukrainians.  And it all began with the Russian government depleting grain reserves and food supplies and then claiming ownership and control of agriculture.

While our own government has not yet begun withholding food from the general population, the transferring of other ethnic groups into our communities through the promotion of illegal immigration across our southern border and from the dumping of massive numbers of alleged refugees from many mid-eastern countries into communities where the cultural, religious and ethnic back grounds quickly divide the population, is happening.  This is an intentional disruption of these communities not for the purpose of diversity, but rather, to end the sense of cultural and national unity.  This is nation busting.  Its purpose is to destroy any sense of community or national identity and loyalty.

If there is anything the United Nations hates worse than our dogged determination to remain free, it is our insistence that we will not fall under UN control.

_______________________________________________

Let me lay this out for you in a simple way, so that maybe you can get the gist of what is really going on and how through incremental legislation EVERYTHING is being taken away from us.

The CLEAR Act:  A pre-planned and pre-written bill; one just waiting for that golden opportunity to magically appear, will seize all water rights, coastal and in-land. BINGO!  We got the BP oil spill and this is one of the excuses for the CLEAR Act.  This bill seizes all mineral, gas and oil rights and permits, and by extension the revenues from those permits.  This bill converts state owned land to federal ownership and control.  This Act which stood little chance of passing was quietly slipped over to the EPA for implementation through agency regulation and enforcement. This bill also represents the UN position that land ownership and by extension those things derived from the land including water, should be owned only by government.

Although the bill is marketed as another global warming fix for this thoroughly exposed hoax, it redefines “navigable waters” (limiting jurisdiction) to, “waters of America”, an all-encompassing jurisdiction.  The bill is at odds with this supreme court ruling which says that investors may build over wetlands.  While these two things seem arbitrary on the surface, in fact they are not.  This case established a precedent which will allow global interests both foreign and domestic to alter, delete and otherwise redirect natural water flows for the benefit of business.  This got the EPA off the hook. Rapanos v supreme court

This bill will also make the Coast Guard, now a military branch (formerly civil service) a police power not only on the water, but also on land.  As a national police force, they might site you on land or water for an infraction of federal corporate codes, and may now take you to a military tribunal or administrative corporate court: it is entirely at their discretion.

Cap & Trade:  This is a bill built on one of the greatest scams in recent history; the global warming myth.  More

In order for this new, soon to be created agency to be able to track and control who produces food of any kind, either this new government corporation or HSD, will pull in the twelve agencies now supposedly overseeing food production. Now it all makes sense and the pieces all begin falling into place.

_____________________________________________

While many individuals and groups have waged a constant and frustrating battle against the coming total seizure and control of food production as practiced by family farmers and ranchers historically, several questions have gone unanswered.  The biggest of all of course is, why?

Common sense, combined with critical and analytical thinking, cannot produce a rational answer for the onslaught of legislation, expansion of government agencies known for their incompetence and waste, and the complicity of state governments.

Victory Gardens Produce Abundance

Food is a market that will always exist.  Many people are turning away from industrial farmed food, seeking healthier choices and getting back to the basics.

Victory gardens in America produced up to 40% of all vegetables consumed during World War II. Over 20 million home gardens, apartment rooftop plants and community plots produced 9-10 million tons of produce; equal to the amount of commercial production at that time. The population during the war years increased from approximately 132 million people in 1940 to 140 million in 1945. Current US population is approaching 311 million people.

A family in Pasadena, California is making a living from selling produce grown in their yard to neighbors and restaurants. They grow 6,000 pounds of produce on 1/10th of an acre of cultivated land per year.

While organic food accounts for only 1%- 2% of all food sales worldwide, the organic market expands up to 20% per year. We believe that the organic market is small right now because of lack of education about health dangers of GE (genetically engineered) food and the lack of labeling of GE food. Most Americans don’t realize that about 75% of their diet is GE. As Americans awaken, the demand for pure non-GE foods is increasing. Organic farming is not only healthier but yields can increase, pollution decreases and water use can be decreased (click here for an example).

Some Americans barter or sell produce grown in their yards to neighbors, farmer’s markets, church communities, etc. You can earn extra money selling produce grown in your yard. Because there is a wealth of information on the Internet about how to grow produce in your yard, we will explore some other innovative ideas and suggestions for creating markets. There will always be a market for food.

Monsanto Shifts ALL Liability to Farmers

Farmers like genetically modified (GM) crops because they can plant them, spray them with herbicide and then there is very little maintenance until harvest. Farmers who plant Monsanto’s GM crops probably don’t realize what they bargain for when they sign the Monsanto Technology Stewardship Agreement contract. One farmer reportedly ‘went crazy’ when he discovered the scope of the contract because it transfers ALL liability to the farmer or grower.

Here is the paragraph that defines Monsanto’s limit of liability that shifts it to the farmer:

“GROWER’S EXCLUSIVE LIMITED REMEDY: THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY OF THE GROWER AND THE LIMIT OF THE LIABILITY OF MONSANTO OR ANY SELLER FOR ANY AND ALL LOSSES, INJURY OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OR HANDLING OF SEED (INCLUDING CLAIMS BASED IN CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, PRODUCT LIABILITY, STRICT LIABILITY, TORT, OR OTHERWISE) SHALL BE THE PRICE PAID BY THE GROWER FOR THE QUANTITY OF THE SEED INVOLVED OR, AT THE ELECTION OF MONSANTO OR THE SEED SELLER, THE REPLACEMENT OF THE SEED. IN NO EVENT SHALL MONSANTO OR ANY SELLER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.”  More

After you read it, you will understand that secession is the ONLY possible way to thwart Martial Law. Or you can consider expatration, but you’d better do that before the meltdown. After the meltdown, DC will likely close borders for exit.)

As powerful as this presentation is, it does not–for reasons of space, I am certain; Russell states that these are excerpts–begin to make clear how quickly martial law could be imposed or how few options would be left. Codex Isn’t Coming, It’s Here!

Why is there so much denial by consumer advocate groups such as the National Health Federation(1) (NHF) about Barry Soetoro implementing the U.S. Codex council via Executive Order(2)? What is it that they don’t want you to see? Just do the research, and you will discover that we have been up to our eyeballs in Codex since 1962 and don’t even know it.

Codex is a subsidiary body of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO). Codex develops international food safety and quality standards, such as standards concerning the safety of food additives. Standards set by Codex traditionally served as a minimum floor for less developed countries. The U.S. has participated in Codex since its formation in 1962 and has shared its technical expertise in efforts to aid less developed countries.

http://www.cspinet.org/reports/codex.htm

We are being lulled into complacency with declarations that Codex isn’t here yet, not to worry, while the elephant in the room is getting bigger all the time. Here is a quote from an article posted on the NHF site:

While the Executive Order is real, it is not imposing Codex rules on the United States. As NHF lobbyist Lee Bechtel correctly points out, “There is no direct policy link between this Council and Codex, or with the way in which the FDA regulates food and food supplements More

Honorable Senators;?

The proposed bill S 510 leaves much to be desired in its application from a judicial aspect.  It voids due process of law and equal protection under the law by allowing the administrator to have only a “reason to believe” to initiate a takings against a food producer in the form of a recall.  These same applications conspicuously do not apply to corporate producers.  In the case of the individual, it is a clear abrogation of rights perpetrated by a political body which seems intent on depriving the people of their rights.

We find it difficult to believe that you, as Senators, would not be aware of the fact that you are intentionally abrogating the rights of individuals and are actively promoting the idea that prohibiting access to the courts and subjecting individuals to police state provisions, intended only to make it impossible for family and independent producers to remain in agriculture, would somehow be lawful. We find it disgusting that you would, using the jingosims of “food safety and food security”, hand the control of food production and supply over to corporations and international interests who are interested only in profits and how to control profits even if it destroys clean, safe food.

These bills effectively convert the right to produce and share food that has been enjoyed since agrarian societies emerged, into a criminal activity. If what you are contemplating can only be accomplished by violating the rights of the people….whose interests are you really serving?  More

Was it the Roman or Greek senate that was debating when the barbarians began to filter in and sit down beside them while their debates were in progress?

Think modern day barbarians behind the curtain who’ve already taken over  the senate, house, and Washington; who already sit in key government positions and walk the halls of congress; who select candidates for voters to argue over; who provide faux elections for national offices.

Third party?  Perot was as close as we’ll get and the elite forced him to drop out when he bolted the starting gate in 1992 ahead in the three-way presidential race with thirty nine percent  (G. H.W. Bush had 31% and Clinton 25%.) Later, when they told Perot he could come back in the race, he still garnered almost twenty percent of the vote. (He’d been asked to run to bleed votes away from GHWB to insure Clinton’s election; who they’d determined would be America’s next president.)

Perot’s fast start scared the boys behind the curtain spitless in that he probably would have won the election had he been allowed to run an uninterrupted race; given voter disgust with Washington.  It’s worse today and Oz won’t allow another independent run at the presidency, in my opinion.

The boys behind the curtain also place illusions in our heads. Or did in the days before the Internet. Which is easy to do when you control all the information, money, and main stream propaganda outlets.  More

WASHINGTON—The recall of half a billion eggs blamed in a nationwide salmonella outbreak has pushed to the top of the Senate agenda enactment of a long-stalled bill to strengthen federal food safety enforcement.

As many beforeitsnews.com readers are aware, Senate Bill S510 has been labeled “the most dangerous bill in history.” Now it seems that Congress will quickly pass it without a word from the still sleeping sheep. A quick cut and paste about the bill from infowars.com

S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the US. It is to our food what the bailout was to our economy, only we can live without money.

David Dees illustration“If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.” ~Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistleblower

Are Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Joe Lieberman all as insane as they look and sound?

In case you have not yet been alerted, the above gang of pretended public servants are either truly insane, or they are working for some source other than that from which they draw their constitutional power.

But then again, the lawmakers in congress who heed Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence – that our government should rule “with the consent of the governed” – are so few as to nullify the good and wise intentions of our founding fathers. May God help us

It is the democratic leadership (of Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Lieberman, Frank, and many others) that remains steadfast in its support of the draconian healthcare deformity, known as Obamacare, while recent polls show only 34 percent of those polled still supported the Healthcare “Reform” Act.

Requiring Americans and small businessmen to bear the cost of buying into the expensive, corporate health “care” plans of the Monetary Cartel’s mega-insurance giants, and into the ever-sliding quality of American medicine, all under the pain of huge fines and prison time, does not sit well with most informed Americans and could be the death knell for the American small business sector, and our middle class as well.  More

Nanotechnology in food: What’s the big idea?

By Caroline Scott-Thomas, 26-Jul-2010

At IFT’s nanoscience conference last week, major industry players discussed how to avoid a rerun of the GMO debacle with consumers – with some saying that one solution could be to say nothing about introducing nanotechnology in foods and to do it anyway.”

Nanotechnology in food: What’s the big idea?

Let’s get talking about nanotech. The science of the very small has filled the food industry with big ideas – but industry is torn on how to present nanotechnology to consumers, stalling product development.

More effective methods of detecting foodborne pathogens, better delivery of micronutrients, longer shelf life – these are all great potential benefits – but research shows that consumers still need a lot of convincing that nanotechnology is safe for food use, and so does industry. On the consumer side, there is a certain faction that may never be persuaded. More

The Bankers Manifesto of 1892: We are the “lower order” of people

The plan for over taking agriculture has long been in progress.  Today, we see these plans culminating as one administration after another has attempted to seize agricultural lands, livestock and other property under various plans.  In fact, the last ten years have seen the greatest efforts to not only seize food production and supply, but also to regulate what we eat and our rights to choose what we consume.

In addition to this, those same bankers from so long ago determined that foreclosing on mortgages, collecting on created debt and driving the economy into the ground were imperative to their end goal.  The idea that once a person was deprived of their home they would go along with anything, appears to have become a reality.

We are disposable; an unnecessary burden for the elite who view us as the “lower order” of people.   Marti

“We (the bankers) must proceed with caution and guard every move made, for the lower order of people are already showing signs of restless commotion. Protect Your Right to Know Which Foods Contain GMOs

Action Alert from: W.R McAfee Sr.

“They must stop U.S. negotiators at an international (Codex) conference from May 3-7, from pushing an agenda that could make it difficult for anyone, anywhere in the world to label foods as genetically modified (GM) – or even make non-GMO claims on their product’s label. “

The call for help below has resulted from a non-GMO consumer steamroller coming down the middle of the road at the Wizards of Oz who’ve been trying to feed this poison to the American people and the world since the Nineties. More

Properly label gmo food! We have a right to know what we are eating!

We have just a few days to stop the United States government from preventing the world from properly labeling genetically modified foods (GMOs).

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have adopted a pro-corporate position that laughably claims labeling GM/GE foods creates the “false” impression that “that the labeled food is in some way different from other foods.”

And next week, at the United Nations meeting in Canada, they will tell the world to adopt the same position, preventing other countries from rightly labeling GMOs as different from fresh, natural food. The implications of this position could further undermine organic food standards all over the world, especially organic labeling.

We know that GMO food created by the likes of Monsanto is not only “different” but unhealthy and unsustainable. Can you help us tell the USDA and FDA to wake up and drop this ridiculous position?

Click here to tell the USDA and FDA: the world should be free to label GMO foods as such.

While the rest of the world wants to be able to label unnatural GMOs, Barack Obama’s USDA and FDA have adopted pro-corporate food positions GMOs. Unless we act now, the United States will go to this meeting telling the world that GMO foods are not different and should not be labeled.

GMO foods, by definition, are genetically different. By altering nature’s design in order to withstand a barrage of chemicals and other poisons, humans are without question creating a new, different kind of food.

We need to tell the USDA and FDA to abandon its wrongheaded, corporate food position that GMOs are the same as non-GMO foods. Sign our petition now before the deadline on Monday.

Thank you for your support on this urgent petition – please share this with anyone you know who cares about their food.

Future Farming: The Call for a 50-Year Perspective on Agriculture

An Interview with Wes Jackson by Robert Jensen

[Excerpt] As everyone scrambles for a solution to the crises in the nation’s economy, Wes Jackson suggests we look to nature’s economy for some of the answers. With everyone focused on a stimulus package in the short term, he counsels that we pay more attention to the soil over the long haul.

____________________________________________

“We live off of what comes out of the soil, not what’s in the bank,” said Jackson, president of The Land Institute. “If we squander the ecological capital of the soil, the capital on paper won’t much matter.”

Jackson doesn’t minimize the threat of the current financial problems but argues that the new administration should consider a “50-year farm bill,” which he and the writer/farmer Wendell Berry proposed in a New York Times op/ed earlier this month.

Central to such a bill would be soil. A plan for sustainable agriculture capable of producing healthful food has to come to solve the twin problems of soil erosion and contamination, said Jackson, who co-founded the research center in 1976 after leaving his job as an environmental studies professor at California State University-Sacramento.

Jackson believes that a key part of the solution is in approaches to growing food that mimic nature instead of trying to subdue it. While Jackson and his fellow researchers at The Land Institute continue their work on Natural Systems Agriculture, he also ponders how to turn the possibilities into policy. He spoke with me from his office in Salina, Kansas.

Robert Jensen: This is a short-term culture, and federal policies typically are aimed at short-term results. Why call for a farm bill that looks so far ahead, especially in tough economic times?

Wes Jackson: For the past 50 or 60 years, we have followed industrialized agricultural policies that have increased the rate of destruction of productive farmland. For those 50 or 60 years, we have let ourselves believe the absurd notion that as long as we have money we will have food. If we continue our offenses against the land and the labor by which we are fed, the food supply will decline, and we will have a problem far more complex than the failure of our paper economy.

Remembering La Gloria: New television documentary traces origins of the H1N1 pandemic back to pig farms in Mexico

by GRAIN

This past November people from all over Mexico gathered in the Valley of Perote, where the village of La Gloria is located, for the fifth Asamblea Nacional de Afectados Ambientales [National Assembly of Environmentally Affected].

It is a large, periodical gathering of a network of communities and organisations struggling against environmental devastation in Mexico. The location for this most recent gathering was chosen in recognition of the importance of the local struggles against the large pig farms in the area, which had gained national and worldwide attention when the first human cases of pandemic H1N1 swine flu were traced back to La Gloria in April 2009.

This was the second Asamblea for the people of La Gloria and the first for an alliance of communities in the Valley of Perote who have now joined La Gloria in resisting factory farming. Out of the swine flu crisis, the struggle against factory farming has grown stronger, moving from isolated local resistance to a major component of a national movement.

A new documentary on the H1N1 pandemic and factory farming, based on the experiences of La Gloria and the neighbouring communities, now brings this struggle to an international audience and puts factory farming back on centre stage in the story of the H1N1 pandemic. READ MORE (Includes Video)

dusplashThe World Health Organization determined in 2005  it has the authority to dissolve sovereign governments and take control should there be a “pandemic”.  This applies to any country signed onto WHO….which of course we are.  The WHO just raised this non-existent pandemic to level 6.

From the WHO 2005 declaration: (excerpted)

“ Under special pandemic plans enacted around the world including the USA, in 2005, national governments are to be dissolved in the event of a pandemic emergency and replaced by special crisis committees, which take charge of the health and security infrastructure of a country, and which are answerable to the WHO and EU in Europe and to the WHO and UN in North America.

If the Model Emergency Health Powers Act is implemented on the instructions of WHI, it will be a criminal offence for Americans to refuse the vaccine. Police are allowed to use deadly force against “criminal” suspects.  Here are ten key points associated with MSEHPA: More

Cap and Trade: A Disaster for America

On June 26th, the House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 by a vote of 219 to 212. The bill, also known as “Cap and Trade” legislation, should more appropriately be called “Cap and Tax” legislation because the federal government is trying to “CAP” Americans’ Freedoms and then “TAX” the necessities of living like gas, food and even heating oil. This bill, like so many other pieces of major federal legislation in recent years, was rammed through congress by the Democratic leadership without even giving the members the time to read it, let alone understand it, all in violation of their now worthless promise to create a more transparent legislative process. The Democrats added 300 pages of amendments to the legislation at 3:00AM on the day of the vote, giving the members of congress less than 12 hours to read the whole 1,200 page bill. Rep. Joe Barton asked repeatedly during the debate on Friday afternoon if there was even a copy of the bill anywhere in the House chamber and Democratic Rep. Ellen Tauscher, who was sitting in the speaker’s chair, repeatedly avoided the question. No full copy of the legislation was ever produced. What was the rush and why were the American people and their elected representatives denied the ability to read the bill before it was voted on?  How does this help the American people? More

Another fake food safety bill…….HR 2749 The latest assault from the District of Criminals

monsan_deesAt every turn, from every angle and at every opportunity our own government, the same people we voted into office to protect and defend us, to honor the Constitution, prove they are not only unworthy but also dead set against us.

The pressure in the District of Criminals must be great.  The deadline looms for compliance with Codex Alimentarius and the World Trade Organization’s demands.  No doubt “cooperative agreements” of all sizes and kinds from many different sources have been made with congressional members who obviously have assured the behind the scenes power brokers that they can in fact, deliver the US to international control and codify Codex into US Law. FOOD, Inc. Exposes Horrors of the U.S. Centralized Food System

What we eat has changed more in the last 50 years than in the last 10,000. So asserts Robert Kenner’s new film,FOOD, Inc., which opens nationwide June 19th.  The vast bulk of food production is now controlled by just a few mega-corporations with one value: profit. Relying on genetic engineering, pesticides and antibiotics, factory food is cheap, requiring little land. But the external costs to our health, the environment and the natural food industry are enormous.

farmersmarket1A FOOD CHAIN RADIO RELEASE FROM METROFARM.COM

To feed our future, we will need to produce more food with less natural resources.  Some point to the technology of the nano and say, “Salvation is on the way!”  And so we ask…

Can nanotechnology feed our future?

This Saturday at 9am Pacific, Michael Olson’s Food Chain Radio hosts Shane Journeay, Ph.D, CEO of Nanotechnology Toxicology Consulting and Training, for a conversation about nanofood.

Click to listen on your radio, computer or IPOD: Food Chain Radio

Topics include a brief survey of nanotechnology; how this technology will be used in the production and processing of food; and whether the nano will enable us to feed our future.

Guests:Pete Kennedy, Acting President of the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund
Subject: They tell us it is for our own good, that they are simply trying to help, that we should trust them to do what we cannot do for ourselves. They lead us to ask… Will House Bill 875 federalize all farms and ranches in the USA?
Topics include how HB 875 would place every farm and ranch under the direct supervision of a new federal Food Safety Administration (FSA); how the FSA would have the power to access and inspect every farm in the United States, as well as the customer list of each of those farms; and whether the federalization of the entire food chain would make for a safer food supply.

The looting of nations

Since most of you rely on the monopolized media industry for your information it may come as a surprise to know that what we have and are seeing is;

  • global banking institutions looting developing countries,
  • central banks plundering foreign exchange reserves,
  • undermining national governments,
  • destabilizing entire national economies and
  • promoting instability and unrest throughout the world.

Over the years, a massive concentration of financial power has taken place in the hands of these global players as a means of finally installing a Global Currency and the New World Order as a reality. All that is left for us is to understand that and accept a global oligarchy as our masters. A revolution is out of the question, as very soon our money, property, food, water, pharmaceuticals, employment, weapons and ammunition, communications, transportation, and all forms of information, will be manufactured and distributed by global corporations as they see fit. There will be no place to go or hide, and no possibility of resistance, as your friends and relatives will be reporting your every move and comments.

If all of this sounds impossible, purchase a copy of the Black Book of Communism, and watch as history repeats itself here in America.

Eat Food

When they’re not busy picking our pockets, or telling us we have to give up liberties in order to have freedom, they’re selling us garbage and telling us it’s food.

Last time I checked, the manufactured food business is bigger than Big Oil and that kind of money buys inconceivably large amounts of propaganda, misinformation and corrupted science.

“Eat food”…

What a beautifully profound and revolutionary piece of advice.

What are we eating and why…

A new film – Processed People – asks some eye opening questions about processed food.
