Vote coming on the Trans-Pacific Partnership: fast track

The Senate is voting TOMORROW to advance Fast Track for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The vote is going to be close and we need everyone to contact their Senators right now and demand they oppose Fast Tracking Internet censorship.

Everyone has said that we have no hope of stopping Fast Track in the Senate — that the House is our only hope. But after the last few weeks, it’s looking more and more like we can stop Fast Track in the Senate.

If we can win in the Senate tomorrow, it’d be a huge victory for the Internet. It would set back plans for the Trans-Pacific Partnership months, if not kill it entirely.

Click here to take action now and let’s stop this secret trade deal.

 Fight For The Future

The Internet rose up and we are closer than ever to winning net neutrality, but now Congress is trying to kill it.

Click here to call congress and the FCC!

Today, the House and Senate are holding hearings to hijack the FCC’s debate on whether to save net neutrality or let ISPs create Internet slow lanes. The Chairmen of the committees, who receive large contributions from the cable industry, want to pass legislation (called the Thune/Upton proposal) to derail the FCC’s net neutrality efforts. This is happening today, tell them to stop now.

The House and Senate hearings on the Congressional plan to destroy net neutrality will be held at 10AM EST and 2:30PM EST respectively. Stay tuned on this page to watch the livestreams below.

What is Jim Hood’s plan for the Internet?

Mississippi AG Jim Hood says he wants a list of sites that search engines and ISPs would be legally required to block. Who makes the list? Well, leaked emails show Hood is working for the MPAA, the lobby that brought us the Internet censorship bill SOPA. His own legal filings were written by MPAA lawyers!

Hood’s office number is: 1-601-359-3680. Call him now, or sign the petition below. When you call, say: “I have a message for Jim Hood. Stop working with movie executives to censor America’s Internet”.

Go here to sign this letter to Jim Hood!
