Big Pharma: They’re Making Astronomical Profits and Curing Nothing

Auhor of The Target List

The average monthly cost of a biologic drug is $3,000. Chemotherapy treatments can cost as much as $65,000/ month according to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

The costs of prescription medications are skyrocketing and there’s no end in sight. And besides the incredibly ridiculous prices in place, the damn drugs don’t cure any of the conditions they’re prescribed for.

Many of these products, if not all of them, are far worse than the diseases they’re actually managing. It’s a racket, and people are getting killed financially speaking and then again from the adverse physiological effects the products create in human beings.

Big Pharma companies are making a fortune, and they have no corporate desires to pay for research that would help eradicate any of the diseases they’re profiting from. Why would they want to eliminate intellectual properties that generate a never ending stream of cash? They wouldn’t, and they won’t.

I have written on many occasions and will do so again right here; until the profit incentives for pharmaceutical companies are removed from the healthcare equation, there will never be any cures to any diseases forthcoming.

The drug ads that bombard our televisions each hour of the day are filled with scary information that is playing simultaneously with video content showcasing attractive actors and actresses attending sporting events, enjoying picnics, and taking part in other ridiculous activities.

Am I the only person that can see the craziness associated with organized medicine and its handler, the pharmaceutical industry?

What do you think about this subject?

Dr Peter Gøtzsche exposes big pharma as organized crime

“The main reason we take so many drugs is that drug companies don’t sell drugs, they sell lies about drugs. This is what makes drugs so different from anything else in life… Virtually everything we know about drugs is what the companies have chosen to tell us and our doctors… the reason patients trust their medicine is that they extrapolate the trust they have in their doctors into the medicines they prescribe.

The patients don’t realize that, although their doctors may know a lot about diseases and human physiology and psychology, they know very, very little about drugs that’ve been carefully concocted and dressed up by the drug industry… If you don t think the system is out of control, please email me and explain why drugs are the third leading cause of death… If such a hugely lethal epidemic had been caused by a new bacterium or a virus, or even one-hundredth of it, we would have done everything we could to get it under control.”  (source

Gøtzsche, MD is a Danish medical researcher, and leader of the Nordic Cochrane Center at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has written numerous reviews within the Cochrane collaboration. Dr.Gøtzsche has been critical of screening for breast cancer using mammography, arguing that it cannot be justified; His critique stems from a meta-analysis he did on mammography screening studies and published as Is screening for breast cancer with mammography justifiable? in The Lancet in 2000. In it he discarded 6 out of 8 studies arguing their randomization was inadequate. In 2006 a paper by Gøtzsche on mammography screening was electronically published in the European Journal of Cancer ahead of print. The journal later removed the paper completely from the journal website without any formal retraction. The paper was later published in Danish Medical Bulletin with a short note from the editor, and Gøtzsche and his coauthors commented on the unilateral retraction that the authors were not involved in. In 2012 his book Mammography Screening: Truth, Lies and Controversy was published. In 2013 his book Deadly Medicines and Organized Crime: How Big Pharma has Corrupted Healthcare was published. http://www.cochrane.org/

Medical News Today reports that, in 2011, there was a modest uptick in the number of prescriptions written in the US.

The increase brought the total to: 4.02 billion.

Yes, in 2011, doctors wrote 4.02 billion prescriptions for drugs in America.

That’s an average of roughly 13 prescriptions for each man, woman, and child.

That’s about one new prescription every month for every American.

The Medical News Today article concluded, “…the industry should be heartened by the growth of the number of prescriptions and spending.” Yes, I’m sure the drug industry is popping champagne corks.

We’re talking about prescriptions here. We’re not talking about the number of pills Americans took. We’re also not counting over-the-counter drugs or vaccine shots.

Pharmacopoeia, a 2011 exhibition at the British Museum, estimated that “the average number of pills a person takes in his or her own lifetime in the UK is 14,000.” That’s as a result of prescriptions. Including over-the-counter drugs, the 14,000 number would swell to 40,000 pills taken in a lifetime.

What are the effects of all these drugs?

Duty to Warn

By Gary G. Kohls, MD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The medical profession is being bought by the pharmaceutical industry, not only in terms of the practice of medicine, but also in terms of teaching and research. The academic institutions of this country are allowing themselves to be the paid agents of the pharmaceutical industry. I think it’s disgraceful.” — Arnold Seymour Relman (1923-2014), Harvard Professor of Medicine and Former Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of Medicine
Big Pharma is engaged in the deliberate seduction of the medical profession, country by country, worldwide. It is spending a fortune on influencing, hiring and purchasing academic judgment to a point where, in a few years’ time, if Big Pharma continues unchecked on its present happy path, unbought medical opinion will be hard to find.”John LeClarre, author of The Constant Gardener, that focused on the corrupt nature of the pharmaceutical industry.
The drug companies don’t sell drugs, they sell lies about drugs…Our healthcare system seriously impedes the rational, economical and safe use of drugs. The industry prospers on this and exerts tight information control. The research literature on drugs is systematically distorted through trials with flawed designs and analyses, selective publication of trials and data, suppression of unwelcome results, and ghost-written papers…This scientific misconduct sells drugs.”Dr Peter Goetzsche, author of “Deadly Medicines and Organized Crime: How Big Pharma has Corrupted Healthcare” More
Whether out of ignorance or preference, what happened at Red Lake 10 years ago has never been what the media, corporate culture and officialdom has made it out to be, and those three entities are continuing to reinforce the disinformation campaign.
The Red Lake School Shootings, 10th Anniversary
dumb_deesMarch 21, 2005 – Red Lake, Minnesota – Under the crazy-making and neurotoxic influence of 60 mg of Prozac, and using his grandfather’s shotgun and Glock pistol, Jeff Weise, age 16, shot and killed his grandfather and his grandfather’s girl friend at their home. He then went to his Red Lake High School and shot and killed a security guard, a teacher, 5 students, and finally himself, leaving a total of 10 dead and 7 wounded. Weise had previously spent about a year and a half in a residential juvenile treatment program, presumably under the care of a prescribing psychiatrist and other mental health personnel. Weise had reportedly had his dose of Prozac increased to 60 mg per day. (Note: only one American SSRI “antidepressant” [all of which have identical mechanisms of action and cause adverse effects] is FDA-approved for adolescents, and in some European nations it is against the law for doctors to prescribe SSRIs for children because of the lack of long-term safety studies and the known increased incidence of violence and suicide. The usual starting dose of Prozac for adults is 10 – 20 mg/day and 8% of the population lacks the liver enzymes to metabolize and de-toxify SSRI drugs, thus becoming instantly toxic from the drugs.)
