A Historical and Psychological Evaluation of an Anonymous Wannabe Dictator who was a Classical Sociopathic, Narcissistic, Egomaniacal, Xenophobic Demagogue

By the time this column is published in the Duluth Reader and also around the world, the mid-term election of 2018 will be over. So, whether there is a blue wave or not, I have decided to update – and actually shorten (!) – a 2016 column that will make important points that might help make sense for future voters, whether they will feel relieved, triumphant, sad or angry – or not. The electorate still needs to understand what really motivates divisive or tyrannical politicians that have sought power and wealth no matter the era or nation. Please read it carefully.

A sociopath is a person whose behavior is antisocial, often criminally greedy, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility, empathy or social conscience. Sociopaths never sincerely apologize nor are they capable of exhibiting remorse for wrongs that they have committed.

A narcissist is person who has an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration, sexual gratification, applause and a lack of empathy for others.

A egomaniac is a pathological egotist, someone with a psychological disorder who exhibits symptoms like delusions of grandeur and an obsession with greatness, power or wealth.

A xenophobe is a person who is fearful or contemptuous of that which is foreign, especially of strangers or of people from different countries or cultures.

A demagogue is a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument.

Once upon a time, there was a egomaniacal, sociopathic, narcissistic and xenophobic national leader who was attempting to rise to political power in his politically-divided, post-war nation. This deeply flawed demagogue, who was worshipped by millions of rabble-rousing, beer-swilling, racist, sexist, gun-toting, anti-Semitic, flag-waving, uber-nationalist, xenophobic, white supremacists, professed that his goal in running for national office was to make his supposedly weak, supposedly under-militarized country great again. Duty to Warn

By Gary G. Kohls, MD – April 8, 2018

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The CIA owns everyone of any significance in the major media…We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American people believe is false.” – William Colby, Ronald Reagan’s Director of the CIA (1981)
The US government’s disinformation campaign to shape the public’s view of important historical events never stops. Propaganda, disinformation and dirty tricks have been part of America even before certain colonial ruling elite’s pretended that the Pilgrims were being nice to – rather than plotting genocide against – the indigenous people at the mythical ”First Thanksgiving”. The “nice” Pilgrims were actually theologically-fascistic witch-believers who regarded the indigenous people as satanic sub-humans whose land could be stolen from them and whose women and children could be massacred with God’s blessings. These so-called Christians sincerely believed that the souls of the native American “subhumans” that had occupied America for 10,000 years could only be “saved” from eternal damnation by being forcibly baptized against their wills into the Christian religion. Sugar-coating the Pilgrim’s decidedly un-Christ-like natures was good for the image of the new nation whose economy would soon be built on the satanic enslavement of other equally” sub-human” black Africans who were about to be kidnapped, cruelly transported from their native lands and then bought and sold in the mythical “land of the free and the brave”.
Many of the widely-accepted myths about our allegedly “honorable” racist ancestors have intentionally obscured the fact that the vast majority of America’s proud slave-owning Founding Fathers were greedy for power and wealth. And yet these and similar myths about the goodness of America’s ruling classes continue to be knowingly taught to grade school students up to the present moment. More
If Your Political Goal is the Overthrow of US Democracy, Does That Make You a Traitor?
Duty to Warn
By Gary G. Kohls, MD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And Can Trump’s Anti-Democracy Swamp-Dwellers be Tried and Convicted for Treason?

Treason could be logically defined as “the crime of betraying one’s country (or its values) and/or giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the state (or in the case of the United States, its democratic values), no matter if the enemies are foreign or domestic.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor — he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation — he works secretly and unknown to undermine the pillars of a city — he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.” — Cicero, 42 B.C.

Duty to Warn

Propaganda: “a message designed to persuade its intended audience to think and behave in a certain manner. Thus advertising is commercial propaganda. Or institutionalized and systematic spreading of information and/or disinformation, usually to promote a narrow political or religious (or commercial) viewpoint.” – from http://www.businessdictionary.com/ More

Duty to Warn

“When a candidate for public office faces the voters he does not face men of sense; he faces a mob of men whose chief distinguishing mark is the fact that they are quite incapable of weighing ideas, or even of comprehending any except for the most elemental ones. The whole thinking of such voters is done in terms of emotion…(and the) dominant emotion is dread of what they cannot understand. So confronted, the candidate must either bark with the pack or be lost…All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre – the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” H. L. Mencken – known as the “Sage of Baltimore”

“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” – Voltaire

NOTE: This column was written the day before the dreaded Election Day of 2016 and submitted for publication before any election results were announced. Because I had already done everything in my power over the past decades of my political activism to influence the vote of thinking folks, I intend to turn off the TV on election day and try not to pay any attention to any of the over-analyzed political commentary and election-season information overload until the morning after.

At this point I think – since it is too late in the season to take the day off and go fishing – that I might actually go – right after I vote – to some distracting daytime movie that my wife wouldn’t want to see anyway. Then, following my regular Tuesday night tennis match, I will come right home and go right to bed without getting myself all tied up in knots.

I realize that it is futile to try to change the political minds of folks who have already chosen to affiliate with anti-democratic folks who exhibit behaviors that are compatible with sociopaths, sexists, xenophobes, racists, homophobes, Islamophobes, anti-Semites, neo-fascists, pro-war/pro-violence Christian fundamentalists, aggressive militarists, climate change deniers, anti-science types and the varieties of demagogue-devotees who have already pledged their allegiance to certain candidates who refuse to be influenced by rational pro-democracy arguments. “They’re selling postcards of the hanging, they’re painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors, the circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner, they’ve got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker, the other is in his pants
And the riot squad they’re restless, they need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight, from Desolation Row” –
Bob Dylan, from “Desolation Row”

The Death Of Emmett Till

By Bob Dylan

’Twas down in Mississippi not so long ago
When a young boy from Chicago town stepped through a Southern door
This boy’s dreadful tragedy I can still remember well
The color of his skin was black and his name was Emmett Till

Some men they dragged him to a barn and there they beat him up
They said they had a reason, but I can’t remember what
They tortured him and did some things too evil to repeat
There were screaming sounds inside the barn, there was laughing sounds
out on the street

Then they rolled his body down a gulf amidst a bloody red rain
And they threw him in the waters wide to cease his screaming pain
The reason that they killed him there, and I’m sure it ain’t no lie
Was just for the fun of killin’ him and to watch him slowly die

And then to stop the United States of yelling for a trial
Two brothers they confessed that they had killed poor Emmett Till
But on the jury there were men who helped the brothers commit this
awful crime
And so this trial was a mockery, but nobody seemed to mind

I saw the morning papers but I could not bear to see
The smiling brothers walkin’ down the courthouse stairs
For the jury found them innocent and the brothers they went free
While Emmett’s body floats the foam of a Jim Crow southern sea

If you can’t speak out against this kind of thing, a crime that’s so unjust
Your eyes are filled with dead men’s dirt, your mind is filled with dust
Your arms and legs they must be in shackles and chains, and your blood
it must refuse to flow
For you let this human race fall down so God-awful low!

This song is just a reminder to remind your fellow man
That this kind of thing still lives today in that ghost-robed Ku Klux Klan
But if all of us folks that thinks alike, if we gave all we could give
We could make this great land of ours a greater place to live

“Bush, Cheney, and their subordinates may have given the order to torture detainees, but it was the apathy, fear, and ignorance of millions of Americans that laid the groundwork for these abuses to take place”…“Today, as we consider the decision of ( President Obama) to block the release of hundreds of photographs showing the torture and abuse of detainees in Afghanistan and Iraq, I hope that those of us who are defending his decision will consider the example of Emmett Till, and of how seeing with open eyes the horrors that he endured …”  – “Big Tex” (pseudonymous author of below 2009 article from Daily Kos)

kohlsMillions of clear-headed people all over the world have paid close attention to the evidence that disproves the Big Lie, and thus they have seen through the propaganda that launched and then quagmired and bankrupted the US into two illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are naturally wondering what is going on, and why have they been black-listed?”

Why do Good People Become Silent About the Documentable Facts That Disprove the Official White House Conspiracy Theory About 9/11? – Part ONE

_______________

It is my firm belief that 9/11 skeptics—and true skeptics of any paradigm-shifting and taboo subject—who publicly expose lies and naked emperors are heroes who have come out of waiting, for we have suffered the ridicule and wrath of those emperors, their minions, and the just plain frightened.

“To survive as babies and young children, we automatically look to our parents (thought-leaders, TV anchormen, politicians, military generals and other parent figures) for confirmation of safety or danger (whether manufactured or otherwise).

“Thus, the need for a leader, an authority, appears to be genetically hardwired. If we have been reared in an authoritarian family and school system, then this tendency to rely on authority figures for confirmation of reality is likely reinforced. Conversely, if we are (gently) reared in a family, school system, and cultural context that rewards critical thinking and respects our feelings and needs, then the tendency to rely on authority figures would likely be weakened.

“In our American society, many of our officials routinely lie to and abuse us, but nonetheless, many citizens continue to look to them for truth and safety—especially when fear is heightened. This strong tendency to believe and obey authority is another obstacle with which skeptics of the official 9/11 account must contend.

“By unquestioningly believing and obeying authority, we develop and perpetuate faulty identities and faulty beliefs, and to top it off, we make very bad decisions, which often negatively affect others. This can be equally true for the four human proclivities studied by social psychologists: doublethink, cognitive dissonance, conformity, and groupthink.” – Psychologist Frances Shure, M. A., L. P. C. Excerpted from Part 3 of her 9 part series on “Why Do Good People Remain Silent – or Worse – about 9/11?More
