When we walk into a supermarket, we assume that
we have the widest possible choice of healthy foods.
But in fact, over the course of the 20th century, our food
system was co-opted by corporate forces whose
interests do not lie in providing the public with fresh, healthy,
sustainably-produced food. Fortunately for
America, an alternative emerged from the counter-culture
of California in the late 1960s and early 1970s,
where a group of political anti-corporate protesters–led
by Alice Waters–voiced their dissent by creating
a food chain outside of the conventional system.
The unintended result was the birth of a vital
local-sustainable-organic food movement which has
brought back taste and variety to our tables.
FOOD FIGHT is a fascinating look at how American agricultural
policy and food culture developed in the
20th century, and how the California food movement has
created a counter-revolution against
big agribusiness.

BRASSCHECK TV:

Did the SWAT team shoot Orlando hostages? That was my first question
when I heard the story. I became even more curious when I heard the
audio of the final shoot out.
What happens when steroid-pumped cowboys enter a nightclub
with guns blazing to "save" hostages?

Corps used the internet to attack its critics

Thousands of people – mostly children, elderly, the handicapped, and those who stayed behind to look after them – were stranded for a week exposed to the elements for a week without food, water, or medical care.

The Times-Picayune which was aware of the real identity of the people making these attacks permitted them to go on and is now helping shield the Corps by refusing to turn over its Internet logs.

I guess this is what they call a “government-private sector partnership.”

Hard to believe, but it’s all documented

Plan B

In case the bailout doesn’t work…

The US has a Plan B.

If it’s not possible to paper over the vast multi-trillion dollar looting that took place during the changing of the guard (Bush to Obama), then the US will be ready with an iron fist for its own people.

Battle hardened troops are in place in the US being trained to “deal” with disgruntled Americans – in a “non-lethal” way of course.

The new mission for the US military:

Dealing with civil unrest and crowd control in the US.

A battle-hardened infantry unit is already trained and ready to go.

They hit the ground last October.

Not good things

Then, watch this video from Brasscheck about the effects of TV on your brain.

Probably the best thing you can do for your mind, and your sense of reality, is to disconnect your TV.

We watch it.
But do we ever think about what it does to us?
We should because it’s not good.

Military prosecutors quit in protest over abuse of prisoners

Bush promised to close it.

McCain promised to close it.

Experienced military prosecutors have resigned over the out-of-control abuses and violations of the rule of law there.

Now the right wing psychopaths who nearly succeeded in destroying the country by supporting a criminal in the White House are howling because Obama is doing what needs to be done.
