Did BLM ineptness kill 70 wild horses that were shipped to Scott City, Kansas?

Did BLM’s inept management of wild horses cause another 70 deaths?   BLM’s press release headline states 57 died, but then in the body of the press release, they state another 13 mares had to be euthanized.  57 + 13 = 70. Why is the contractor only being informed of the proper feed AFTER so many horses died?

These were most likely the wild horses that the BLM recently shipped from Teterville Long Term Holding in Kansas to the feedlot-like facility Scott City, Kansas.  57 horses, plus the additional 13 that were in such bad shape they needed to be euthanized, are a lot of horses to die in a short period of time. Another BLM “investigation?” There is very little accountability to the public. BLM’s Press Release is below this article. The BLM is having a one day tour for CREDENTIALED MEDIA, but apparently, nobody from any wild horse advocacy groups has been invited. We request an immediate public tour of this temporary short term holding facility. Tax dollars pay for this.

BLM counts Flyboy’s nosedive at sage grouse as “experience”

Confusion at BLM over sage grouse and horses…they can’t tell the difference!

In a Freedom of Information Act response that includes resumes of the crew of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) contractor Sun J Livestock, Inc., whose actions sparked a notorious internal investigation (AKA cover-up), it seems the BLM’s contractor hired a sub-contractor that is grossly under-qualified.

After numerous complaints since October, 2010 about BLM’s round up contractor, Sun J Livestock, Inc., and their sub-contracted helicopter pilot, the BLM started an internal investigation in January, 2011, and issued a report in February, 2011 stating:

“Experience of the Contractor”

The gather contract solicitation requires that all proposals demonstrate a minimum of 1,500 hours of flying experience in similar projects for the proposed primary and secondary helicopter pilots. To be considered for a contract award, the contractor needs overall experience of humanely capturing a minimum of 3,000 wild horses and/or burros while using helicopter- drive trapping. The contractor and proposed key personnel needed this overall experience in similar projects during the time from 2007 to the present. Sun J Livestock met all of the above criteria and qualified to have a contract awarded to it. Overall, the contractor has gathered over 40,000 wild horses…” (emphasis mine)

BLM’s interpretation (once again) borders on wild fantasy.  First of all, I added up the numbers of wild horses that the people sending in their resumes claimed to have rounded up, and the total came to 24,473.  (Once again, it seems BLM is almost doubling their numbers).  Not only that, if you’ve been to a roundup, you’d know that Jody Holmes, as the BLM’s Wild Horse & Burro Specialist, didn’t go out and there and round up those horses herself.  She watched. BLM’s Wild Horse Stampede Contractor Exposed as Deceptive

(The News as We See It) by R.T. Fitch

“Wild horses never made it through hundreds, thousands and millions of years until Dave and Sue Cattoor showed up to save them from their impending doom of living wild and free on the land that has been their homes for centuries.  What a tremendous burden the Cattoors bear by playing God to the publicly owned wild horses of the United States of America, I am in awe.”_____________________________

BLM’s David Cattoor Plots to Subvert First Amendment Rights, Again!

It was subtle, it was sweet and done with such professional flair that most people would have missed it on the first go around but a second viewing cements the words and causes the jaws to drop.  Clare Major, of the New York Times, caught on video BLM Wild Horse Stampede contractor Dave Cattoor discussing with his company and BLM personnel the process of killing a horse, that his firm would injure, and how to hide it and dispose of it in such a manner that the public and press would not see it or become aware of the incident.  How sweet is that?

All the King’s horses and all the King’s men will never be able to put Cattoor’s words back in his mouth again.”

Sunk, doused and caught with his pants down all due to the desire to be “famous” and to appear in the New York Times.  The egos of Dave and Sue Cattoor have finally done them in.
