Despite Opposition, Scotland Announces Fracking Ban – Calls For US To Do The Same

Finally!!! Fracking is seen as the danger it is. GO SCOTLAND!!!

peoples trust toronto

Authored by Julia Conley via TheAntiMedia.org,

?We have so much wind and wave power that it is retrograde in the extreme to lend any support to the fracking industry.?

Environmental groups from around the world applauded Scotland on Tuesday for its decision to ban fracking,following an overwhelming public outcry against the practice – and called for the United States and the rest of the United Kingdom to follow suit.

The Scottish government held a public comment period in recent months on fracking, attracting about65,000 responses – the majority of which came from people in communities where the natural gas extraction would take place. An overwhelming 99 percent of Scots who participated were opposed to the practice.

“Fracking will lead to an increase in pollution and the decimation of parts of the Scottish landscape and environment,? wrote one respondent.

?People will feel even more devalued as a result of…

Is Curious Technically Keeping an Innocent Man In Jail?

11 Comments

Michael Volpe

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I was arrested in 2009, and charged with rape and related sex offenses,” Marcy said in a letter to this reporter on July 12, 2017. “The first time I spoke to the police I implored them to take my DNA and test it. Edwardsville Police informed me ‘they do not need my DNA, because they do not have any DNA to test it against.’ They have her statement and that is all they need.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Note, the name of the child was changed to the pseudonym, Ruby, because of her age)

A curious technicality is keeping a Pennsylvania man in jail, despite no longer having any evidence to support his rape conviction.

Joseph Marcy was convicted in 2012 of molesting his daughter Ruby, who was six and seven when the alleged incidents occurred and nine when she testified.

At the trial, the only evidence against him was Ruby’s testimony and a doctor who said bruising in her vaginal region was consistent with molestation.

Other medical experts have since concluded the bruising was consistent with numerous things, not just molestation, and Ruby has since recanted her testimony, testifying in an appeals hearing called a Post-Conviction Relief Act (PCRA) hearing, that she lied during her father’s trial.

“And did you want to come in today?” Ruby was asked by Joe Hakim, her father’s attorney, at this PCRA hearing.

“Yes,” she responded.

“And why is that?” Hakim asked.

“To tell the truth,” she responded.

“And what’s the truth?” Hakim asked again.

“That he did not do it,” Ruby said, recanting. More

***HURRICANE IRMA UPDATE***

Category 6? If Hurricane Irma Becomes The Strongest Hurricane In History, It Could Wipe Entire Cities Off The Map

Meteorologists have been shocked at how rapidly Hurricane Irma has been strengthening, and they are already warning that if it hits the United States as a high-level category 5 storm the devastation would be absolutely unprecedented. Of course, we are already dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, and many experts are already telling us that the economic damage done by that storm will easily surpass any other disaster in all of U.S. history. But there is a very real possibility that Hurricane Irma could be even worse. According to the National Hurricane Center, at 5 PM on Friday Irma already had sustained winds of 130 miles per hour. But it is still very early, and as you will see below, next week it is expected to potentially develop into a category 5 storm with winds of 180 miles per hour or more.

How We Know The So-Called “Civil War” Was Not Over Slavery — Paul Craig Roberts | Information Clearing House

Now look what you’ve done! Gone and told the truth about the civil war…………Your picture will most likely be up in the post office now!~(-:

Taking Sides

How We Know The So-Called “Civil War” Was Not Over Slavery

By Paul Craig Roberts

When I read Professor Thomas DiLorenzo’s article the question that lept to mind was, “How come the South is said to have fought for slavery when the North wasn’t fighting against slavery?”

Two days before Lincoln’s inauguration as the 16th President, Congress, consisting only of the Northern states, passed overwhelmingly on March 2, 1861, the Corwin Amendment that gave constitutional protection to slavery. Lincoln endorsed the amendment in his inaugural address, saying “I have no objection to its being made express and irrevocable.”

Quite clearly, the North was not prepared to go to war in order to end slavery when on the very eve of war the US Congress and incoming president were in the process of making it unconstitutional to abolish slavery.

Here we have absolute total proof that the North wanted the South…

Lobbyists formed “American Mustang Foundation” 9 months ago – was this group invited to Utah’s secret horse “Slaughter Summit?”

Utah State University Wildland Resources Professor Terry Messmer

by Debbie Coffey, V.P. & Dir. of Wild Horse Affairs, Wild Horse Freedom Federation

The National Horse and Burro Rangeland Management Coalition, chaired by The Wildlife Society (TWS), concluded their secretive, closed-to-the-public “Slaughter Summit” co-hosted by the Utah State University and the state of Utah. The organizer of this Summit, Utah State University Wildland Resources Professor Terry Messmer, is heavily associated with The Wildlife Society, an organization that is pushing for the slaughter of wild horses and burros.

In a news article in The Salt Lake Tribune titledUtah State University hosts wild horse summit, but excludes key advocates and the public,” it states:

“While closed meetings are sometimes considered anathema to scientific debate, Messmer defended the secrecy as a necessary precaution in the face of threats against some of the participants, including filmmaker Ben Masters. Other speakers regarded as anti-horse partisans are Beaver County Commissioner Tammy Pearson and attorney Frank Falen, whose Cheyenne, Wyo., law firm has repeatedly sued the BLM over horse management and other issues on behalf of ranchers.

‘We’ve got over 50 organizations represented, including three leading horse advocate groups that are part of the registration,’ Messmer said. He named the American Mustang Association, the American Mustang Foundation and the Wild Mustang Foundation.” More
