Jan 3rd, 2021  marks the beginning of the 117th Congress: All legislation will have to be reintroduced. Here’s a few of AWA’s priorities for 2021-2022 that you can help join us in advocating for our animal four legged and furry friends in need.

Help us by calling your Members of Congress at (202)-224-3121 (Nationwide Number) Give your zip code and asking them to support these bills:

• The Big Cat Public Safety Act that passed the House in the 116th Congress
• The Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act to ban horse slaughter
• New legislation to protect our iconic American wild horses and burros and other equines
• The Bear Protection Act that has twice passed the Senate in previous Congresses
• The Shark Fin Trade Elimination Act that passed the House in the 116th Congress and cleared the Senate Committee
• The Animal Cruelty Enforcement (ACE) Act that will create an Animal Cruelty Crimes Unit at the Dept. of Justice;
• The Opportunities for Fairness in Farming (OFF) Act that will create transparency and reform USDA’s corrupt checkoff programs
• The Greyhound Protection Act to permanently end greyhound racing in the U.S.
• The Kangaroo Protection Act
• The MINK Act
• The Puppy Protection Act
• The FDA Modernization Act
