TOPIC WILL BE: Freedom for Elephants in Captivity
The Elephant Advocacy Project (formerly called Savenoseynow.org). TEAP grew out of the successful Facebook group Save Nosey NOW! SNN original goal was to provide sanctuary to Nosey, the elephant, which we were instrumental in doing in November, 2017. We endeavor to educate and provide support for activists and advocates who are interested in closing circuses with animals and zoos who cling to elephant exhibits for profit only. We support the true sanctuary concept for all captive elephants.
TEAP mission is to provide support and advocacy to captive elephants in circuses and zoos in the United States with the ultimate goal of freedom in sanctuary.

VIDEO
Chris DeRose, president and founder of Last Chance for Animals, talks about his experience in the animal rights movement, going back 35+ years when there was basically no animal rights movement. He talks about how new roads had to be blazed and what it took to make that happen. Chris hopes to motivate and inspire activists to do even more and how to do that. Three short films will be shown: laboratory break-in that exposed vivisection worldwide through media, investigation and bust of a U.S.D.A. licensed Class “B” dealer selling stolen pets to research and “The Case Against “B” Dealers”.

A True Story by Chris DeRose
In Your Face is former actor Chris DeRose’s firsthand account of how he investigated and finally busted some of the most heartless and corrupt federally licensed pet-theft rings in the nation. This is no dry autobiography; it’s a passionate story of personal involvement and commitment. DeRose takes you to the front lines of the fight to show you what direct action on behalf of animals means: covert infiltrations into pet-theft operations, entering vivisection labs and witnessing atrocities almost too terrible to believe, getting shot in the back by an FBI informant, and being arrested and sent to jail and solitary confinement for civil disobedience.
DeRose shoves the facts straight in your face and dares you to ignore them. He invites you to share his rage, grief, and triumphs in his efforts to stop animal suffering. By the time you’ve finished this book, you may be ready to join him in the fight for justice, whether the victims are animals or people.

Animal Activism:
For almost four decades, Chris DeRose has been a leader in the animal rights movement. In 1984, he founded Last Chance for Animals (LCA), an international, nonprofit animal advocacy organization focused on investigating, exposing, and ending animal exploitation. DeRose discussed how he investigated and finally busted some of the most heartless and corrupt pet-theft rings in the nation and what happens on the front lines of the fight on behalf of animals. On the heels of the deadly coronavirus outbreak which is happening now in China, DeRose discussed the conditions for animals in that country and how domestic pets such as dogs and cats are boiled alive for food.
