Whether it’s for disease screenings or to locate long lost relatives, is it really a good idea to give out our DNA to strangers?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
There’s an important reason not to have your DNA tested by companies that are trying to help you screen different diseases or to find distant family members. The DNA information that you are providing is being collected by companies that can sell your private genetic secrets to Big Pharma, insurance companies and government agencies that might use the data against you.
Think of it this way; would you voluntarily hand out your social security number to strangers? Of course you wouldn’t. If someone gets hold of your social security number, he or she could steal your identity and cause you lots of financial problems. We all know this and go to a lot of trouble to protect ourselves from identity thieves.
The same mindset and caution should be practiced when it comes to DNA. DNA contains all of the unique biochemical secrets concerning our bodies and the bodies of our ancestors. When we are protective of our genetic codes, we’re not only protecting ourselves, we’re being protective of everybody in our family tree. It’s a big responsibility and one we should take very seriously.
There are plenty of people in the world that have nefarious agendas. Don’t be so eager to give them your secret genetic codes. Trust me when I write that this is not a very good idea. What you don’t really understand could quite honestly come back to hurt you and your loved ones.
What do you think about this subject?

New Studies Confirm Safety of Home Birth With Midwives in the U.S.
In today’s peer-reviewed Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health (JMWH), a landmark study** confirms that among low-risk women, planned home births result in low rates of interventions without an increase in adverse outcomes for mothers and babies
.
This study, which examines nearly 17,000 courses of midwife-led care, is the largest analysis of planned home birth in the U.S. ever published.
The results of this study, and those of its companion article about the development of the MANA Stats registry, confirm the safety and overwhelmingly positive health benefits for low-risk mothers and babies who choose to birth at home with a midwife. At every step of the way, midwives are providing excellent care. This study enables families, providers and policymakers to have a transparent look at the risks and benefits of planned home birth as well as the health benefits of normal physiologic birth.
Of particular note is a cesarean rate of 5.2%, a remarkably low rate when compared to the U.S. national average of 31% for full-term pregnancies. When we consider the well-known health consequences of a cesarean – not to mention the exponentially higher costs – this study brings a fresh reminder of the benefits of midwife-led care outside of our overburdened hospital system.

At birth…each state collects three extra drops of blood and tissue from the newborn. the release form for this collection is presented to the mother just before delivery and she is not informed that not only does she NOT have to sign, but that even if she or the father agrees to the extra draw, they have a right to demand the samples be destroyed within 45 days as long as they submit a demand in writing. Most are not aware that these droplets….contain their baby’s dna and genetic code. Even if the demand to destroy is submitted, the info gleaned from the samples is sold to researchers and labs, and the results sold to interested party’s. With out this demand for destroying the samples…the state now steps forward and claims ownership of the DNA —your baby.

Do they ask the parents for permission to collect their babies DNA? Is there a statute, legal policy or is this just medical practise?

The DNA of all newborn babies since 1992 has been collected and stored in a databank in Maryland. This collected info is bundled and sold to insurance companies, colleges, universities, and employers. This collection also targets you for genetically targeted vaccines….imagine the implications of that. We now have several states claiming that not only do they now own the DNA of children…but own the children as well and can dictate their lives in spite of the parents. As always, something that might have had a positive benefit to the public has instead been turned into a weapon to be used against them.
