They are the deciders, we are, to them, the mere children along for the ride. They steer the car, decide between them where it will go. We can make suggestions, but our suggestions are only honored if or when they fit their plans. It’s their story, and our objections that their conclusions are, and therefore their whole blasted narrative is wrong, are ignored as impertinent. We may get slapped for even suggesting such, because our propensity for thinking avails nothing since it is they, not we, who are creating and acting out the story. More

Tonight, our guest will be Gail Fagan, spokesperson for Help Alberta’s Wildies (HAW), a group of concerned Canadians who have been fighting to save the remaining wild horses, called “wildies,” in Alberta, Canada.  The Alberta government’s Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) is their equivalent of our Bureau of Land Management.

This group was founded by Darrell Glover, who flew over the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains and took aerial photos.  He was shocked at the loss of foals and yearlings he saw, yet last year, the Alberta government was going to capture and send to slaughter approximately 200 horses.  Glover exposed the lack of credible data by the ESRD.  The response from the public was amazing.  People volunteered, protested, camped out in -30 C weather, brought trailers full of hay, took bales on snowmobiles to the starving horses to draw them away from the traps. 5 people were arrested.  But in the end, only about 15 horses were taken.

Find out why things are so different this year, as another cull is currently taking place.  Could this happen here?

Note from Debbie – this is where you can write to tell Alberta government that you won’t be spending your tourism dollars there since they’re removing the wildies:

Child Support: States Stack the Books for Profit

“The child support recovery system routinely stops the transfer of tens of thousands of dollars each month, paid by parents, holding those funds indefinitely and with out explanation. The result is that the paying parent is sent letters informing them that they will have their drivers license taken, along with their vehicle and will be jailed. These letters originate from the very same offices that have received the child support payments on behalf of the parent, but who have, intentionally refused to transfer the funds to the families they were meant for.

In several states, the pursuit of federal kickbacks for agencies involved in child support recovery has resulted in the offering of employees bonuses for generating more child support collections, even if those collections are based on false allegations and as a result of withholding child support funds paid into the system.
