Two months ago I discussed the issue of overseas use of Drones moving into CONUS (Continental United States). Scoffing at my insanity, individuals pointed out “that can never happen in America!”. We have freedom here!

Dade Cops Waiting To Get Crime Fighting Drone Airborne

The MAV is used by the military to scan dangerous areas before troops are sent in. Miami-Dade police used a $50,000 grant to buy one, but not everyone is happy with the purchase.

“What happens when they fly over backyards and they see something without a warrant that they want to take against,” said ACLU Executive Director Howard Simon.

Police admit the MAV, if flown low enough, has the ability to look into people’s home, but that is not its intended purpose.

Readers – the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Many concepts were intended for one thing and yet are being used for another with acceptance by the general public. A few examples?

Boy, 11, Arrested For Violent Stick Figure Drawing

Police are defending the way they handled the arrest of an 11-year-old boy.
The Arvada boy was arrested and hauled away in handcuffs from his home for drawing stick figures in school – something his therapist told him to do.

35-year-old Douglas Zerby was killed on Sunday after he pointed what turned out to be a garden nozzle at police.

“As the subject was in a seated position, he used a two-handed pistol-grip hold on an object with his arms fully extended,” Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell said. “Somebody that is impaired and waving what appears to witnesses and police to be a handgun. That’s what the officers were faced with.”

Witnesses to the shooting said that officers never announced their presence to Zerby, who was intoxicated at the time, and he may have never known that police had surrounded him.

Police acknowledged they never told Zerby to drop the object.

The coroner’s ruled the death a homicide Thursday. That means that it was a death at the hands of another. It does not necessarily mean that a crime was committed.”

Teen gets 12-month sentence for minor offense – and thug gets probation for raping her

She says her only crime was initially reporting to police she did not know who had jumped and cut her on the way to school.

Simmons continued to prey on teenagers in his custody until 2008, when a 15-year-old girl came forward to say he had sodomized her behind a locker in the girls holding area, which he stocked with condoms and cookies. Investigators believe the assaults go back a decade to the rape of a 13-year-old in the holding area.

“Just the tip of the iceberg,” Assistant District Attorney Amir Vonsover said in 2008, when Simmons was indicted for three sex assaults.

Criminal barbering? Raids at Orange County shops lead to arrests, raise questions

Brian Berry owns Strictly Skillz, a barbershop on Pine Hills Road. He says he’s used to licensing inspections, but what happened in his shop Aug. 21 was something else.

Berry said deputies entered his store and told his barbers to stop cutting and put their hands behind their backs. As barbers sat on the ground in handcuffs, he said, deputies removed his customers — including children — from the store, and began searching workstations and checking licenses without explanation.

But don’t y’all worry now, because the Drones being deployed, well the intended purpose is to keep you safe.

Look up and smile. Because while the ACLU is interested in overseas usage of the drones and the legality thereof – silence is apparently their rule of the day here.
