New Zealand gets a pass on dairy testing for growth hormones: It isn’t necessary?

Almost as a portend of what is to come should the attempts to pass S510 succeed, New Zealand AG is spared any testing for growth hormones in milk…..because they have strict laws concerning the use of hormones in milking cows.  That’s really nice, but th ebulk of their milk products come from Fonterra, a Canadian based corporation who supplies dried milk products to NewZealand……so it would appear that the milk cows and subsequent laws governing them, are of no consequence.

Fonterra, which sells dried milk powder to China under the brand name Synutra, denies there is any link between their product, growth hormones and the developement of breasts in infants fed these products.  China sells the milk product to New Zealand.

See how easy that all is?  Fonterra says there is no threat; China says its product is not at fault and  New Zealand says their milk cows don’t need to be tested, and babies are sprouting boobies all over the place.  A cosmic mystery for sure!  Marti_____________________________________

Synutra defends products in light of hormone scare

Chinese dairy Synutra International has affirmed its belief that its products are safe and in no way linked to recent allegations of premature breast development in infant girls.

Media reports earlier in the week said that medical tests had found excessive levels of hormones in three young girls who had allegedly consumed milk powder made by Synutra. Parents of the children and doctors in the Hebei province had expressed concern that the products caused the girls, aged four- to 15 months, to prematurely develop breasts.

Synutra has now responded to these allegations. In a statement, Liang Zhang, chairman and CEO of Synutra, said: “We are seeing many industry experts speak out about the lack of scientific evidence between infant formula and these claims. More

States, Not Supreme Court, Must Decide Law And Protect Freedom

By Chuck Baldwin August 13, 2010

This column is archived here. I am going to borrow heavily from two outstanding columns that appear on my son’s web site, LibertyDefenseLeague.com. One author, Russell Longcore, is a publisher; the other, Wilton Strickland, is an attorney. Both are avid proponents of State sovereignty and independence.

Longcore’s column is entitled “Edwin Vieira on Secession, New World Order and the American Republic.” See it at:

Strickland’s column is entitled “Staying Away From The Federal Courthouse.” View here.

Both of these gentlemen share my conviction that the only chance we have to maintain and defend liberty in these United States is for free and independent states to rise in righteous indignation against the onslaught of federal tyranny that is rapidly destroying our republic. America–as one nation–is beyond redemption. The federal government is too arrogant, too malevolent, and too drunk with power to ever allow itself to be returned to the principles of federalism and constitutionalism. And this is true no matter which of the two political parties is in charge.

Fortunately, America’s founders did not create “one nation” with 13 (now 50) provinces. They created a confederated republic with 13 (now 50) “Free and Independent States.” (Declaration of Independence) This means that even after the US Constitution was ratified in 1787, the states maintained independent, nation-state status. Therefore, each State is duly authorized and charged with the responsibility of protecting the rights and liberties of its citizens–even if that means resisting (peaceably or otherwise) the federal government–including the right of states to secede, if need be, in order to protect their liberties. Senate food safety bill edges toward vote

Even as the public continues its fight to prevent this takeover of  food production and supply for the benefit of   multi-national corporations and to imlement CODEX, congress moves ahead with plans to vote on this corporate takeover of agriculture.

S510 is the greatest threat to the food security of the US all for the benefit of corporations.

We have no voice in congress; they have no intentions of listening to the people.  I still maintain, every representative and senator should be called home, relieved of their office, and charged for crimes against the states and the people.

Senate food safety bill edges toward vote

Lawmakers released a bipartisan agreement on the Senate’s food safety bill on Thursday, signaling that it is likely to be debated in the Senate when it reconvenes in September.

The Food Safety Modernization Act has been stalled in the Senate since it was passed unanimously by the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee in November, and a companion bill – the Food Safety Enhancement Act – passed the House more than a year ago, last July. Now Senate leaders have collaborated to release a manager’s package and Congressional Budget Office analysis.

The six Senators involved are HELP Committee Chairman Tom Harkin (D-IA), Ranking Member Mike Enzi (R-WY), authors of the Food Safety Modernization Act Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Judd Gregg (R-NH) and lead cosponsors Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Richard Burr (R-NC).

They said in a joint statement: “Any 100-year-old plus structure – like our nation’s food safety system – needs improvements. With this announcement today, we aim to not just patch and mend our fragmented food safety system, we hope to reinforce the infrastructure, close the gaps and create a systematic, risk-based and balanced approach to food safety in the United States.

“The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act will place more emphasis on prevention of food borne illness and will provide new tools to respond to food safety problems.”

The amendment is available online here .

Two major issues remain unresolved in the manager’s package: Senator Jon Tester’s to exempt smaller businesses from some of the bill’s requirements and Senator Dianne Feinstein’s to restrict use of bisphenol A. More

Two-Week-Old Wild Horse Shot and Killed Before California Roundup
Advocates ask for investigation
Sacramento, CA (August 13, 2010)—The body of a wild horse foal was found near the site of the Twin Peaks roundup Wednesday by Craig Downer, wildlife ecologist and Cloud Foundation Board member, and Chrystie Davis, wild horse advocate. Davis, an experienced horsewoman, examined the foal for any broken bones. What she found was an apparent rope burn on a rear leg as well as a gunshot wound.

“It seems as though the foal was shot in the gut,” Davis states. “It looked as though the foal was abused, lassoed around the hind legs and dragged.”
The foal, approximately 2 weeks old, was killed prior to the start of the controversial Twin Peaks Herd Management Area roundup in Northern California. When Davis told BLM officials about finding the gunshot foal, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employee, Carman Prisco, told Davis she must be confused and the dead animal was an antelope. Photos taken by Downer confirmed that this is indeed a wild horse foal.
Photographs taken at the capture site, set on sharp lava rock, reveal blood stains within the trap.

Mustang advocates ask BLM law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation into the abuse and death of the federally protected wild horse—killed before independent contractor, Cattoor Livestock, began rounding up wild horses with helicopters.
Field reports from those on the ground noted a severely injured white stallion that suffered head trauma supposedly from fighting with other stallions in tightly packed transport vehicles. Even though the injury was serious, the BLM contractor was quoted as saying a vet “might need” to be called. The whereabouts of that stallion are currently unknown. Another stallion was off loaded into a pen with eight mules that attacked him, causing traumatic injuries. This incident was also brought to the attention of the BLM by public observers.
Advocates were told yesterday that there were no injuries, yet when they went to look at the horses in holding, the area was blocked off. They were told that they could not access the area because the “injured horses” needed to rest.
Injuries are not uncommon in roundups and underscore the need for public access, says Ginger Kathrens, Director of the Cloud Foundation and EMMY Award-winning producer.
“Access is absolutely essential and is granted by the Constitution,”  says  Kathrens. “The ‘acceptable’ suffering of these horses is simply not acceptable to the caring public.”
Laura Leigh, Cloud Foundation Herd Watch coordinator, agrees.
“If this is what we see when the BLM actually allows us in, what happens when they black out their actions to the press and public?” asks Leigh,  plaintiff for the Tuscarora round-up that ended July 20 in Nevada, “The time for real Congressional intervention is long overdue.”
The recent round-up in Tuscarora, Nevada—also run by Cattoor Livestock—resulted in the deaths of thirty-six wild horses.

A case involving a veteran named Gary Harvey.  Until January 2006, Gary Harvey was leading a normal life, just like most of us. Then, one day, he suffered a heart attack and fell down a flight of stairs. On that day, his life and the lives of his loved ones changed forever. The injuries he suffered left him permanently, severely disabled. Gary was placed in the Chemung County Nursing Facility – and a familiar battle began. Sara, Gary’s wife, started complaining about the quality of care – or lack thereof. More

BLM Helicopter Stampede to put 50% of California’s Wild Horses and Burros behind Bars Forever

Live Link:  Straight from the Horses Heart

HOUSTON – (SFTHH)  The BLM’s much contested Twin Peaks stampede began amidst a cloud of controversy on August 11th in Northeastern California.  The aerial assault is scheduled to last 6 weeks with a total of 2,000 wild horses and burros set to be placed behind bars to endure a lifetime of imprisonment and potential sterility.  Setting the stage paranoid BLM officials over reacted by calling in county Sheriff Deputies and Federal Rangers in the advent that a passive equine welfare advocate might “do something” to disrupt the roar of helicopter blades and stampeding horses.  Much to their chagrin, nothing happened.

BLM Helicopter stampede contractor David Cattoor, (“The United States of America vs David Cattoor” where Cattoor plead guilty to the count of “Conspiracy” and also a second count of “Using Aircraft to Capture Wild Horses, Aiding and Abetting”), had his pilot fire up the company helicopter at 0730 hrs and commence with the destruction of our native wild horse herds.
