“approximately one-third of all castrations develop some form of post-surgical complication, and these complications constitute the number one reason of malpractice claims against North American veterinarians.” The 1800-plus mustangs in Fallon are under the watch of only one veterinarian and castrated males, in obvious pain with swollen scrotums, receive no pain medication or post-surgical care.
Stop the roundups and respect our wild mothers

WASHINGTON D.C. (May 4, 2010) ―The American wild horse crisis is filled with issues of animal cruelty and the world looks on and asks, “Why?”. Currently the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is holding over 1800 captured Calico mustangs at a privately owned, feedlot-style facility in Fallon, Nevada. The manure-strewn pens have become a makeshift nursery for captured mares now giving birth without cover or protection from the elements.  In honor of America’s wild horse mares and their foals, International Fund for Horses and The Cloud Foundation launch a letter writing campaign First Lady Michelle Obama this Mother’s Day, requesting a moratorium on roundups in the American West.
“The American public is no longer buying the false claims by the BLM that wild horses are starving and must be removed from the range,” states Vivian Grant, President of the Int’l Fund for Horses. “Time after time we see healthy wild horses being rounded up by the BLM and tragically it is the mares and their newborn or unborn foals who pay the highest price.” More than 40 late term abortions and 87 adult horse deaths have occurred as a result of the stressful helicopter roundup in northwestern Nevada in the dead of winter.
While the Calico mustang mothers and their newborns continue to be held in the dusty corrals, their sons are being castrated without proper pain medication or medical oversight. More

Position Will Create Problems for American Producers to Label Products GM/GE-Free Upcoming International Codex Meeting to Discuss Food Labeling, May 3

Yonkers, NY—Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher ofConsumer Reports, and more than 80 farmers, public health, environmental, and organic food organizations today sent a letter to Michael R. Taylor, Deputy Commissioner for Food at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and to Kathleen Merrigan, Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), expressing serious concerns that a proposed U.S. position on food labeling would create major problems for American producers who want to label their products as free of genetically modified (GM)/genetically engineered (GE) ingredients.  A copy of the letter can be found online: this is a pdf. Action Alert from: W.R McAfee Sr.

“They must stop U.S. negotiators at an international (Codex) conference from May 3-7, from pushing an agenda that could make it difficult for anyone, anywhere in the world to label foods as genetically modified (GM) – or even make non-GMO claims on their product’s label. “

The call for help below has resulted from a non-GMO consumer steamroller coming down the middle of the road at the Wizards of Oz who’ve been trying to feed this poison to the American people and the world since the Nineties. More

By W.R. McAfee, Sr.___________________________

“Want to know why they’re pushing GMOs on Africa and every other poor country in the world, Gates notwithstanding? Read this. The elite brethren always couch their agendas as “. . programs to help the less fortunate or save humanity (from global warming).”

Pigs fly, too.” ___________

Paid pitchmen constantly hawk the global marionettes’ agenda through America’s propaganda outlets (aka MSM); making sure the people know what to think about.  Waco. Oklahoma City.  9/11.  “Terrorists.”  “War on Terror.” Anthrax “attacks.” Bird flu.  Swine flu. Pandemic.  Pandemic vaccinations. “To big to fail” (give us trillions).  Global warming.  Genetically modified (GM) food.

Stables of retired generals can be trotted out to “explain” the latest “war,” and experts of any stripe can be gathered to promote a pitch. MSM studios and microphones are routinely turned over to bureaucratic wonks or CFR member-reps to prep the public’s mind for their latest manufactured crisis. More

The Root of the Problem

I believe many of our society’s chronic health problems could be resolved if attention was paid, at the highest levels of government, to the root problem – our agricultural subsidies.

If growers of subsidized fresh vegetables were in a clear majority, you might start to see some fine advertising campaigns promoting the consumption of those veggies…

Unfortunately, the Department of Agriculture is deeply entrenched with the agri-business, and current legislations protect the profits of these large industries at the expense of public health. More

S.3217 Restoring American Financial Stability Act: also known as the “Buggering America One More Time Act”

“I guess, Henry Waxman was the only person to discover this close tie between financial reform and dietary supplements.  Who would have imagined such a thing?  Guess that’s why he’s a Representative; he can divine the deep connections between corrupt financial institutions and your right to use and purchase dietary supplements to help offset the toxic effects of gmo food, chemicals, additives, pesticides and herbicides that have contaminated what was once nutritional food sources.”

_____________________

Contrary to the news flying around that Codex Alimentarius with regards to vitamins and supplements is dead: it is not.  In the usual fashion of all things slimy and slippery in the District of Criminals, the bill originally promoted by Sen. John McCain (R):S.3002 The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA) of 2010 A bill, to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to more effectively regulate dietary supplements that may pose safety risks unknown to consumers”, quickly became another mill stone around the Senators’ neck as the public backlash on this one was massive.

Apparently the Senator was unaware that unlike toxic pharmaceuticals routinely approved by the FDA as safe and effective (if you consider possible death, stroke, heart attack, blood clots, etc., ) as an acceptable side affect, dietary supplements and nutritional aids have no such history.   In fact, those manufacturers of nutritional supplements would not consider death as a result of the use of their products as simply “collateral damage” to be expected in pursuit of mega profits.

The Senator quickly withdrew the bill, but that wasn’t the end of it.

Off it went to the committee that is supposed to be writing or re-writing or whatever it is they do while their stakeholders (campaign donors, big corps, lobbyists) write or re-arrange the language in the bills to make sure Corporation (X) makes kabillions in profits and at the same making sure they are totally unaccountable or liable for whatever toxic poisons they dump on the American public.  That committee is the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee whose members can be viewed here on the right side of the page.
