9/11 Revisited

It is now almost nine years since September 11, 2001, the day “everything changed.” On that day, and for the next six years, I called myself a “conservative.” I had voted for George W. Bush in 2000 and I would vote for him again in 2004, convinced, as most of America had been, that we were attacked by “Al Qaeda” on 9/11.

It was not until May 2007 that I finally awoke from my long slumber of ignorance and began a painful emotional and intellectual journey after having realized that everything I thought I knew was wrong.

I had not only been a “conservative,” following 9/11, I had changed my voter registration from “independent” to Republican. I had been a libertarian for some twenty or more years by then, but I had become disillusioned with libertarianism and had spent most of the nineties in a near apolitical frame of mind. When 9/11 occurred and all the usual sources of information told me it was the work of Arab terrorists, like most folks, I believed it and I was angered by it. I swallowed the Neocons’ explanation of events hook, line and sinker, despite having known as early as 1977 of the international banksters and the conspiracy to create a world government. I had believed in this for a few years, when I was a young man, but had eventually dismissed it as “conspiracy theory” because it all seemed so unreal to me. There was nothing tangible about it that I could point to with any certainty, so I forgot all about it, although, when I heard George Bush, Sr. mention a “New World Order,” in 1991, my ears did perk up. But, I went quickly back to sleep, thinking it was all too fantastic to be real.

Fast forward to May 2007 when, one evening I went to a book store and bought the latest tome from David Horowitz. When I got home with it, I was thumbing through it as I sat at my desk, when suddenly, a CD fell out of the book and into my lap. It was hand lettered, “Aaron Russo, ‘America: Freedom to Fascism.'” I said out loud, “Oh, what the f__k is this?!” Curious, I put it into my CD-ROM drive and began to watch it.

At first, I was interested in the film, as it explored the IRS and the phony tax laws that supposedly compel us to pay a tax on our income. I was also intrigued by the mention of the Federal Reserve and the international bankers, as I had been familiar with this before. But, at the point at which Russo introduces the topic of 9/11 having been an inside job, my conditioning kicked in and I angrily pushed the eject button and threw the disk in my wastebasket.

A few hours later, still curious, I fished it out and began watching again, thinking I’d give it the benefit of a doubt. So, I watched it all the way through. And then I watched it again. At that point, I was at least ready to accept that our government had , at the very least, been complicit in 9/11 and had at least allowed it to happen. But, I was not yet convinced that our government had actually planned and executed such a diabolical act of mass murder against its own people because I couldn’t fathom a logical motive for it yet and I hadn’t yet learned about the details of how it was done.

So, as I began to search for more information from those “insane” 9/11 truthers, as people like Bill O’Reilly were calling them, I next came across a couple of other videos on the internet: 9/11 Coincidences and Loose Change.

While Loose Change is a good film on the subject, it was 9/11 Coincidences that actually woke me up. I have a background in architecture and engineering, having been the son of a civil engineer and having been an architectural/engineering draftsman for over thirty years, myself. So, the technical portions of 9/11 Coincidences were the most convincing, for me. It was especially “part 8” (as it’s presented on You Tube) that contained the “smoking gun” evidence of controlled demolition, proving beyond any doubt that this is exactly what happened to those buildings and it was the rest of the film, as well as what is contained in Loose Change, that revealed the motive for this heinous act of false-flag terrorism.

In fact, I would have awakened on 9/11 had it not been for my lack of understanding why our government would have done such a thing. I was at work that morning and my boss (an architect) and I talked about how what we had seen on TV looked like a controlled demolition. But neither of us could fathom how to explain it if it was, so we just dismissed it from our thoughts, convinced that we were being “paranoid.” Yet, nothing is more compelling in awakening one to what happened than the direct evidence of deliberate controlled demolition, in my opinion. This has become, in fact, the central focus for Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, as well as for Firefighters for 9/11 Truth.

Those who know me or who know my writings or have visited my website, The Free Zone, know where I stand today. I am writing this piece for those who perhaps are just beginning to wake up or who haven’t yet done so. For those have doubts that the Bush administration could have been motivated to do such a thing, I direct your attention to not only the two aforementioned films, but to the Project for a New American Century and the Bush family’s criminal past. For those who believe this was all just some Neocon agenda and that it went away with the “election” of Barrack Obama, I refer you to the evidence that shows his complicity in the same New World Order agenda.
