Guardianship abuse is rampant across the US. Predatoratory guardians are enabled and facilitated by corrupt probate judges, Adult Protective Service employees, state regulators and even some medical staff, all who ignore state statutes and regulations and who violate the rights of the victim so that the estate can be looted.
Our guests this evening are:
5:00 PM – 5:45 PM Laura Francois-Eugene on abuse by court-appointed guardians in Washington, DC. Sallie Thomas plus two other victims.
5:45 PM – 6:00 PM Linda Kincaid on abuse by public guardians in CA. Gisela Riordan in Santa Clara County and Mr. J. in San Joaquin County.
6:00 PM – 6:30 PM Chris Murphy on unreported abuse, failure of Department of Social Services to act on reports of abuse.
BIO’s for our guests:
Laura Francois-Eugene:
Bio:
Laura has been active as an elder advocate in DC for a number of years. She is involved with several families whose parents are victims of abuse by court-appointed guardians.
The death of Sallie Thomas:
Sallie Thomas was a victim of horrific abuse and neglect at George Washington University Hospital. Advocates released photos of a huge bedsore, bruises around the bedsore, and strangulation marks on Sallie’s neck. The guardian retaliated with a restraining order against Sallie’s daughter. When Sallie died, the guardian did not notify her daughter. The daughter learned of her mother’s death from a friend, several days later.
Phone Number: to come
Linda Kincaid:
Bio:
Linda holds a Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley. Since 1990, she has been a chemical safety consultant for high tech companies in Silicon Valley. Linda developed a passion for the rights of elder Americans after her mother was abducted and isolated from loved ones. She actively advocates for the rights of abused elders in her community and throughout the country. Linda is the National Senior Issues Examiner for Examiner.com.
The abuse of Gisela Riordan.
Gisela Riordan has been isolated for over two years. The public guardian allows no visitors or phone calls.
Department of Social Services determined there was no violation of Gisela’s rights to visitation or phone calls. The Santa Clara County Public Guardian states they have the right to deny all visitation to their conservatees. Will Lightbourne, state Director of Department of Social Services also stated that Public Guardians have the right to deny all visitation. That practice is in violation of California Probate Code and California Penal Code.

Chris Murphy
Bio:
Chris Murphy holds a Master of Science degree in Gerontology from San Diego State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from CSU Long Beach, and a Master of Science degree in Acquisition Management from West Coast University.
In 2001, she placed her mother in a local assisted living facility; the experiences of both her mother and herself were the genesis of her interest in, and passion for residential care advocacy. Since 2007, she holds a RCFE Administrator’s Certificate.
Her thesis “An Exposition of Irregularities in Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) in San Diego and Imperial Counties,” (Montezuma Publishing, SDSU, 2010), is based on original research conducted from the public files of 354 RCFEs located in San Diego and Imperial counties. While working on her thesis, she and another like-minded graduate student founded Consumer Advocates for RCFE Reform (CARR), a 501(c) organization offering consumer-based advocacy and information about assisted living in California for the purpose of allowing consumers to make informed placement decisions. CARR’s website offers free access to public documents and regulatory compliance histories for approximately 700+ RCFEs located in San Diego and Imperial counties.
CARR is fueled by passion and private donations to continue its work.
Talking Points: Much elder abuse is not identified. Much of identified abuse is not reported. Much of the reported abuse is not cited by Department of Social Services. Much of the abuse cited by Department of Social Services is not corrected.

yes! And we can also relegate your children to status of “wards of the state”…..this will allow us to profit from them by leasing them out to pharma for experimental testing of psychotropic drugs, vaccines and whatever other garbage we can make a buck off of. We can split up families, rescind parental rights, and harras the hell out of anyone who opposes us. We can even put your children into foster homes where they most likely will be abused adn molested and we will pay foster parents a big chunk of money to do it! Ahhh! family services..social services……your firsst stop on your way to hell! Calen

Every day, the Human Services Department provides benefits to more than 60,000 people in Sonoma County. We show the way to a job, help with needs like food or medical care, and link veterans and active duty military and their families with the many programs, benefits and services available to them. We also protect those who can’t protect themselves by providing services for abused and neglected children. We make sure that the elderly and people with disability are safe and enjoying the independence they deserve. When you contact Human Services, you’ll talk to someone who can help. Just describe the problem you are having and we will connect you with the service that best fits your needs.

I think there are many “predatory guardians”, not necessarily “court appointed:guardians, of their parents who are in our own families. I have been observing this scenaria up close and personal for the last seven months.
I have observed that family members and elder care homes (of all the care/assistance levels and of all the price / cost levels of living facilities) will not sppon feed the elder their food even though the patient can swallow and does want to eat. Neither will they lift a glass of water or liquid drink to the patient’s mouth. No matter how much you pay for most expensive care facility, no one will provide those services to the patient. They will set the food and drink in front of the person and it is up the patient, who is physically unable to do it, to consume the items. Then they carry the untouched food and drink away. The family members see this going on but their is truly an ugly conspiracy of sorts, though never spoken aloud, that everybody is just to let the person waste away and go more into dementia. A lot of the dementia comes on sooner rather than later specifically because of the withholding of food and drink.
There seems to be no level of care available, not available, not a choice BY DESIGN, that includes making a real effort to get the right kind (such as a “sippy” or liquid diet) of nourishing food and drink in proper amounts. The person either feeds themself or they are judged to need tube feeding and tube liquids and that can only be administered in the high level of direct medical care places. This is a false dichotomy and I think an evil split that leaves the proper care and feeding of the patient by mouth.
If someone in the family speaks up about this, the hospice persona and the care givers at the facility threaten to move the patient to a place where there is ostensibly more direct medical care and which is usually not a nice place to live at all. Family members quiety go along with this scheme and everyone keeps putting forth the idea that the person just does not want to eat and just does not want to live anymore and it is there time to do and we just need to accept that. I cannot say for sure, but it certainly looks like getting the inheritance sooner could be a motivation.
Just had to vent a little because I know I am right about this and no one wants to speak about this honestly.
None dare call it murder.
