This is a long-term issue in which many Administrations bear the weight upon their shoulders of “borrowing gone out of control” in conjunction with “spending with no accountability”.
Now consider comparing the above explanation with this “reasoned” Chicago style approach:

President Obama on Tuesday said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3 if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.
“I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.
Before those dependent on Social Security checks pick up their phones in panic calling to Legislators “Please! Please! Raise the Limit! I have no way to survive without it!” – think very seriously about the following thoughts.
There is no money in the “lock box” now. The American Government already owes Social Security close to $2 Trillion over the next 10 years – if they don’t borrow any more. The problem becomes larger when one realizes that there are not enough workers to pay for Social Security. It’s currently called a Ponzi Scheme (unless it is administered by the Government).
Who is our Government calling to beg for the monies? It must come from somewhere. Money can theoretically be created electronically and dispersed to pay for our expenses. However the only result that ensures is larger debt which will eventually be owed to someone – with even more interest.
A more reasoned approach would be to contact your Legislator and request they suggest cutting all overseas Foreign Aid. We don’t need more Rhetoric from either side – we demand Responsibility.
If the Republicrats, Independents, and The 2010 Tea Party expect to stand up for America, this threat must be addressed. Bullies only find new ways to extort revenue from the masses. Maybe it’s time to find out exactly whose side your Legislator is on.
Let bring some old memory: in 08 when Paulson drew drew the line and literally said “In the event Congress refuses to pass this bail out, the market will fall?” Basically, that made it unevitable for the economy to crash when Congress refused to go along. Obama attempted a similar strategy last week with an apparent stress of a last day time limit but the Republicans were happy to rejected his bluff. Now it will probably not be the same if this next deadline gets broken.
Bonnie is so right. We, as a collective people, do not need the banks, the government, and all the rest of the yokes they have placed upon us to do nothing but enslave and put us into debt. We can create our own reality outside of their world, and that is the very thing, as she so eloquently states, that they are afraid of. That we will stop being sheep, and forge our own identity outside of the State. I say opt out of their world and make our own. Allegiance to their methods have not been earned or justified. They are greedy failures who believe in war and indebtedness to create wealth for themselves. Phooey on them!

There is no money because the Feds STOLE it.
Yet, the population is not aware of it, not even now. So, this being the case, of ” not sending out checks unless..”, is a desperate ploy of Obama’s, so the populace doesn’t become aware of the theft.
As sure as shooting, when this becomes evident, the Masses will in D.C> rolling over the ptb, like a tank over grass. They don’t have the military weaponry, but they DO have pitchforks !
And the Congress KNOWS it! That is why they’re NOT bowing to Obama, at the moment. They’re scared to death of us.

We’ll have our own local government to benefit local communities, a barter system, or goods and servicesw, home schooling, hand-makde goods, natural/heirloom seeds, hobbyists, such as metallurgists, carpenters, potter, paper-making, musical instruments making, singing, writing, Tai Chi, acupunture, etc. And there are thatchers still extant in the U.K, straw roofs. And people making Earthhouses from the U.S. Pacific NoWest, to Italy, Greece, France and China… from handmade clay bricks, and so many other skills known and that could be learned, that we will do well.
Everyone has several skills, cooking, childcare, house caring, health caring, singing, writing, dancing, planting, etc. and can learn others.

We’ve been told our Government’s Treasury is Empty without day to day BORROWING. Obama warns that after first paying Interest debt to Bond Holders, there will be nothing left for Social Security!
If so, why are both Republicans and Democrats wasting TRILLIONS on Bush/Cheney/Obama Warfare?
(Also why GIVE $3+ Billion a Year to the wealthy State of Israel’s paranoid leaders who constantly demand we war upon their Muslim neighbors FOR them? Iran is their next targeted “enemy” we’ve been instructed to attack.)
Constitutionally, Our U.S. Government does NOT need to Borrow!
Congress needs re-read our Constitution which directs Congress to CREATE (print) MONEY needed – not Borrow from private banksters and others, then pay them added debt Interest.
If too much currency is created, both the above will cheapen all existing dollars – but BORROWING is far worse because of added Interest owed by taxpayers to the (Bond holding) Lenders.
Usually those lenders will be the private banker owned (and misnamed) “Federal Reserve” which prints their Fed paper “dollars” out of thin air, backed by nothing except the Fed stockholding Banksters’ “assurance” they have value. The Fed’s private banksters have NEVER lent us any of their REAL assets – Gold, Silver, Commodities, Real Estate, etc – from Fed stockholders’ vaults!

A long time ago I heard the Administrator for US foreign aid on radio explain that 90% of all foreign aid dollars where actually spent in the US!! It appears that lobbyists for makers of farm and construction equipment, etc., need the feds to buy their excess stock and give it to “needy” countries in the 3rd world. oops. And I thought all along that this was a 10% scam. Surprise. It’s a 90% scam.

Foreign Aid is a drop in the bucket. End the Federal Reserve and the bankster community, and instead of pruning branches on a tree that bears no fruit, dig it out in its entirety at its roots.
